Food was great good flavor !!! Service was exceptional could not be better and the atmosphere was great !!! read more

Food quality has gone down. My wife and I both have MSG headaches after our meal. 18 months ago, this was an authentic Mexican food experience, but now the only thing authentic was the habanero hot sauce. Beans and rice were too salty. We used to highly recommend Don Cheques, but no more. Now, we're back looking for real Mexican food (minus MSG). read more

IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES, DO NOT GO HERE! Before ordering, we made it very clear that there was an extreme allergy to tomatoes and asked whether this establishment could accommodate it. The server did a wonderful job by asking the right questions. We explained that even cross-contamination could be serious. We wanted to make sure that this could be accommodated. The result was the need for emergency personnel and an EpiPen in the establishment's hallway. When we discussed it with the owner, he apologized and handed us a ticket for payment not only for the food we did not receive but also for the food that could have been fatal, with no regard for the promise made or the final result. Do better! read more

Awesome food and service would recommend for anyone at any time. Been there many times at different times of day

Don Chèques is a great local Mexican restaurant with wonderful service and great food! The frozen strawberry and mango margaritas are incredible with pieces of real fruit blended up. They run margarita specials 4 nights a week! The tacos, fajitas, chile relleno and molcajete bowl special are all incredible. read more

Delicious food, always fresh! We eat here multiple times a week everything in the menu is delicious!

Ordered the Cubana torta and they put sliced hot dogs on it, I guess to substitute for the ham? The guacamole has the flavor of the plastic bag or container it sits in. $13 for a hot dog sandwich with fries. Skip the disappointment here and go 1/4 mile down the road to McDonalds where you will surely be disappointed as expected. read more

Don't even look at the menu - just get the tacos ! You won't get a more authentic taco outside of Mexico. Amazing place Amazing staff read more

The food at Don Cheques is so good. For those that have not been here you are missing the best Mexican food in Meridian. Everything we have tried here is fresh and delicious. The fajita burrito is my favorite! Try it you want be disappointed. read more

Picked up some take out food and it was great as it always is at this taqueria. Prices are about average for everything I've seen on the menu compared to other quality Mexican restaurants I've been to, even those on the west coast. The Fajita Burrito I got was MASSIVE and came with a bag of chips and some salsa, all for about $19 including a tip. The service was good and the usual host/waitress was very polite. read more

My husband and I came in for lunch the other day because I was desperately craving a torta de milanesa. I'm pregnant and it's all I could think about. While it's not an option on their menu, I noticed they do have milanesa so I asked to have a torta with milanesa. They happily accommodated my request (after some brief clarification that I actually wanted a sandwich lol) and IT WAS DELICIOUS. First of all, this was hands down the best milanesa de pollo that I have EVER had and I try it at almost every Mexican restaurant. Second, I don't know what magic bread they used but it was nicely toasted and just perfect. Add in lots of Mayo, lettuce, fresh avocado, and some of the house habanero hot sauce and I was in heaven. Also, the portion was huge. I was able to take half the sandwich home and have it for dinner. The only downside is that instead of satisfying the craving, it's ALL I can think about! I even leaned over to my husband in church today and whispered, "I can't focus because I cannot stop thinking about that torta." Thanks y'all for accommodating me. I will definitely be back to order the same thing very soon! read more

Just ate here today, and everything was delicious. I'm pretty new in the area , from Northern California, and I'm pretty used to dammed good Mexican food. I ordered the 4 item combo plate w/ chicken and beef and my wife grabbed the enchilada verde plate. It was all super good. It was easy to order a full meal that was under $10, and they also have daily specials and a ala carte menu on the back. Aside from maybe smallish portions? I have zero gripes about Don Cheques Taqueria. Best Mexican in Meridian. read more

Not sure who would give this place less than 5 but there's always one in the bunch. I had the Fajita Supreme and it was delicious. Sweet tea was excellent, chips and salsa was excellent. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. Service was perfect as well. read more

I almost missed this place. I was looking for authentic Mexican, and after looking into a number of places touted by locals as authentic (they're not), I decided on this place based on the menu I saw online. When I got to the shopping center it's in, I didn't see it and thought it must have closed. I drove away, then stopped and called. No answer. I checked yelp, found one review, it was only nine days old. I went back. If you come in from N Hills as I did, it's past everything on the very end, on the other side of Burke where I didn't expect to find it. I'm glad I turned back. Yes, this one's authentic. I got four tacos, asada, al pastor, carnitas, and lengua. The asada was a bit dry but tasted good, the rest were just plain delicious. They also have sopes, huaraches, tortas, and a number of meat dishes. I expect they have burritos and enchiladas and maybe seafood dishes, but I skimmed through quickly until I hit the a la carte page, then stopped reading. I had to get me some tacos! read more

Try the frozen Margaritas! Not usually something I would order but they are amazing. I have never had a bad meal here. So many favorites.

The staff is really nice and the food is p good. Not many places to go in Meridian so this is a go-to spot for my roommate and me

The Don Cheques special is amazing, I had no idea that cacti was so delicious. The only thing I didn't care for was the chips. Everything else is wonderful. The service was great both times I've been recently. I loved the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back. read more

Absolutely flavorless and took way to long! My lunch date said same about his entree. Spice it up people!!

Food quality is hit and miss. Have dined in and had take out here several times. Dine in service is usually good.

The best Birria tacos in Mississippi! Friendly staff and the restaurant was clean and colorful. Every time I visit this restaurant it's busy which confirms their food and service are excellent. read more

Excellent quality Mexican food. Fresh ingredients, and a friendly atmosphere. Every food choice there has been a delicious experience.

We just moved to the area, and found this place on accident, it's in the ace hardware shopping plaza, the food is amazing and the service is great. Very small and quaint, we didn't find them on our Yelp search so this is my attempt to add them! Hope this works read more

The food had no flavor. The guacamole had some much lime in it you could not taste the Avocados. Lime keeps the Avacados from turning black. The Margaritas tasted like water. read more

Food is always consistently good! I've never been disappointed. Would be nice to have margaritas tho

This is the definition of "A-hole in the wall". The food is so so so good man and the people working are extremely nice!
