I purchased a brand new 2025 Honda CRV from this dealership. My salesman was Farod and he provided me excellent service. He was very friendly and easy to get a hold of on the phone for any questions. I felt like the sales department does a good job at finding what it is your looking for and providing service in a timely manner. However, almost a month after the purchase I returned to the dealership seeking out help from their service department. I managed to pick up a nail in my tire that day and needed it replaced/repaired (these tired have less than 1,000 miles at this point). I stopped at discount tire before I went to the dealership to see if it could be patched. Sadly, I was informed that it was too close to the sidewall the patch and I would need a new tire. Discount tire said the tire was under manufacture warranty still and they could replace it for $50, but I would have to wait for it to be shipped there. I decided to go to Don Ayres service department because I figured they could probably give me some kind of similar deal and replace it today. I was also planning of getting a protection plan in addition for the tires. This was not the case at all unfortunately. After spending 40k on a vehicle with them, they said that they would be charging me full price $240 for a new tire no if's, and's or but's. When I spoke to the service manager I asked if he could discount the price through the warranty like the other tire shop, or if there was any other way to get the price lower. He eventually seemed to get irrated by the fact i didnt want to pay full price and began to raise is voice at me slightly. He then at one point Said "What do you want me to do lie to the warranty people!?" I replied "No," and he then cut me off and said "Yes you do!" He also believed that I was lying about discount tire replacing it for $50. He was certain that they were offering to sell me a warranty for the tire not the price of a new tire. After coming to the realization I was talking to a wall and no one here was going to help me without price gouging; I went back to discount tire. They gave me full protection coverage on all the tires and also ordered the new replacement tire for altogether $40 cheaper than what Don Ayres wanted to charge just to replace the tire. read more

I paid for a package that includes oil changes. I was going to make an appointment since I live out of town, but their website says no appointment needed for an oil change. So I show up for an oil change, wait fifteen minutes in the service area for someone to even say hello to me, and then I am told that the wait for an oil change is three hours. Needless to say, I'll be getting that oil change someplace else. Deeply disappointed in Don Ayres that they advertise an "express" oil change without an appointment and then expect you to wait three hours. We must have different definitions of the word express. read more

Purchased new vehicle from them because no other close honda dealerships, they tried to sneak in a ton of extra warranties and hidden costs and wouldn't show the overall price of the extra's just monthly payments. Down the line talked to them about trading in the vehicle, typical salesmen drew the process out over a couple hours, then their offer was thousands below kbb trade in value, took my business elsewhere and found a non-honda dealership that offered me more than Don Ayres did. Honda's are great vehicles but there is much better dealerships to deal with I highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

This morning I went to Don Ayers to drive a Honda the salesman and I decided to take out brand new Honda Accord Hybrid. After some searching he finds out the sales manager has been driving the car. He gets keys then proceeds to tell me the car brand new 226 miles has been crashed. Sales manager hit a deer. Cracked bumper and they planned to have is fixed Monday the. Proceeds to tell me that nothing will be documented or put on carfax for this vehicle. Hiding it from any new owner in the future. I thought it was unethical so I wanted to inform buyers thinking about buying here this is how accidents are handled. They were not willing to discount the car even though it had been damaged diminishing value based off being in accident. Offered me 50% off accessories. Pete Ort lied to me about my break pads being worn out. When I went to change them myself they were barely half used. He tried to take advantage of me because I'm a woman. He told me to replace all 4 breaks and rotors it would be $450. Only the front 2 wheels have disk breaks. This service department should be avoided at all costs!! **it's been over a week. No contact. Looks like there's more than one dishonest person at this dealership. I don't know why they'd even write that they'd have someone contact me when they have no intention of doing so. read more

Went to the service center recently so this review is about that experience. I called and made an appointment. I arrived on time and was greeted by some of staff members. They were upfront about a diagnostic fee. Once they were able to figure out the problem, I was called and told what needed to be done. They gave me the prices and wanted to make sure I was okay with that. I ended up calling back and told them that I was only interested in getting a certain repair done. The staff member was more than willing to only do that repair. Once the repair was done, I received a call saying that the car repair was completed. I find that the staff members were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Good experience, and I would recommend the service center. read more

My daughter has a two year old Civic - about 25,000 miles - and the air conditioning went out - during 90 degree days. The warranty was only covered at 24,000 miles. I spoke to Kevin - the service manager and he spoke to his Honda rep and they agreed to cover the repair. I was upset when my daughter had to initially pay for the $375 repair - because it is basically a new car - but Kevin was very responsive and went out of his way to take care of this. I have owned a Honda for at least 15 years - my son has a Honda and my daughter has this Civic. I was very happy that they wanted to keep their customers happy. They will get the job done, but it's good to learn basic maintenance yourself and save yourself some money and keep it from this jokers! I like the deals they throw on them certified Honda's at times then I go grab up one, maintenance I might get done a few times there then after warranty is up I will take it to another place for maintenance or like I said do it myself if I can do the job. My latest experience at Don Ayres Honda has left me feeling frustrated and indignant to say the least! The service department proved itself to be shady and untrustworthy. I own a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid, and I scheduled an appointment on a Saturday for an oil change and alignment. After waiting for nearly three hours, I was called to the desk in the intake service area where people pull their vehicles in and check-in for service. My representative insisted something major was wrong with the wheel bearings of my car. He said it would take an additional few hours to fix, and it would cost $700. They refused to perform the alignment without this repait. Car maintenance is not my strong suit, and up until this moment I've trusted the mechanics at Don Ayres implicitly. I had run out of time for the day as I had a doctor appointment in less than an hour, but I asked my representative to speak with the mechanic as I was worried. Was it safe to drive my vehicle home? The next available date I had for service was a week from that date. Could service wait until next week? Would I be able to use my car for work, or should my fiancé be driving me? What other costs commonly crop up with these sort of repairs? While the representative was speaking with the mechanic I called my fiancé to tell him what is happening. He told me to leave immediately. He just replaced the wheel bearings when he replaced my popped tire. I went to Monroe in Huntington, IN for a second opinion. Monroe confirmed there is absolutely nothing wrong with my wheel bearings. I explained I had no issues with the vehicle: No pulling, no knocking, etc. They took a look, and confirmed my fiancé's suspicions. Either the mechanic is shady, or incompetent. Either way, I cannot trust this location for any repairs or future purchases, which is a shame. I finally have the 10K saved up for a down payment on a Fit! read more

I drive a 2005 Honda Accord EX, have been a Don Ayres customer for 25+ years, but they lost my business today. I had the Service Tech order a new power window/locks switch (in driver's side arm rest). At $350, this was expensive, and the ST knew the switch had "caved in" from my prior two visits - due to the cheap design. The switch is held in place by four plastic pips with small screws, and the operator has to press downward umpteen times over the life of the car to activate windows and locks. A shitty design. This is a cream puff car, very well-maintained and lightly driven. It only has 126,000 miles in 17 years of driving. I drove the half hour to my appointment and the ST says "Oh, the switch isn't going to fix it. You need to spend another $500 to buy the metal piece that holds it in place". I said "That's outrageous!" He agreed. "Chuck, this car only has 126,000 miles on it, What's the solution?" He says "Be more gentle" Well eff you. Why did you waste my time? You knew the problem! ST says "Do you know how many cars I see?" I'm thinking, don't you keep records on MY car? read more

Overall, I would 100% recommend Don Ayre's Honda for the sales of a vehicle, but I would not recommend them for the financing of a vehicle. We purchased a certified pre-owned 2018 Honda Fit with Zach Chausse. Our experience with him was fantastic from start to finish, and we would certainly purchase through him again in the future. He's such a kind, honest, and funny person and seemed to genuinely want to make our experience the best possible. If I were to do a review for our experience with the finance office, however, I'd give one star. They don't seem to understand how the math on financing works and gave us an incredibly high interest rate considering our excellent credit. We were told that the interest was taken one time at the beginning of our loan (AKA: a simple interest loan) but were unable to explain a $1,400 discrepancy with that description. The financing manager didn't seem to understand either, and he was really heated with us and told us that he was "done" dealing with us and walked out. He did come back, however, and explained that he didn't know how the math worked on it either and that he just trusts their computer program. That made us uncomfortable with financing through Don Ayres, but we really liked our experience with Zach and the vehicle itself. We did our own research later and found that they were doing a standard compounding interest loan (that math at least worked out), but we found significantly better rates going through a local credit union and wanted to work with people who could explain the math. read more

Even though Tyler knew we weren't going to buy the car and it was the end of the work day, he did not make us feel rushed. It was because of his relaxed and respectful demeanor that we stayed in touch and returned to buy our Pilot. We made an appointment with him and he was ready and waiting for us. I have leased several vehicles from Don Aryes Honda but when I chose to purchase a vehicle I was told I had to get the pay off for my lease from them in order to purchase from another dealership as they will not give another dealership the amount owed. Unfortunately they also do not give you the correct pay off they give you the pay off if you purchase from them so please be aware to ask for the turn in fee and taxes as you will get stuck like I did with having to pay that out of pocket. very disappointed with the way this transaction was handled and will never drive another Honda again. nor will I ever purchase from the dealership I chose to get my new vehicle from read more

My wife bought a 2011 Buick Regal exactly one week and three days ago, and within two days the rear tires started making a humming noise. We took it up to the service department yesterday and were informed that it needed two new tires and an alignment which would cost $480! Very unprofessional. I drove an hour to look at a car after I had already talked to the salesman about it. As soon as I got there my salesman come up to us and tells me that the car sold the night before, so I was already disappointed when I got there. We ahead and looked at another car and I really liked it so I signed paperwork for it and put down a $2500 payment. They call me two days later and tell me that they can't sell me the car but there's another car I can look at but it was going to be $1500 more. This is not a rating on the dealership as a whole, just one really annoying issue. If you buy a car here from Rick Kruger, DO NOT give him your phone number. He will call you every single year on your birthday for the rest of his life. I used him to buy out my lease 5 or 6 years ago and he calls me EVERY YEAR. To the point that I expect it and it makes me mad before my birthday even comes. This year he called me the day before AND the day after and left me the exact same message. Ya know, cause #YOLO. After distastefully being told I should just find another vehicle without any true reasoning behind why... Or specific problems of the car (i.e. Why/ how to fix these problems, pricing of the fix) After paying 84 dollars to look at my car, the employee wouldn't actually tell me what was wrong with it. I felt ripped off and treated unfairly. I felt like the service employee was trying to make me get a new car from the dealer. Regardless, I will not be returning to this business. My wife and I had an extremely frustrating experience trying to purchase a used car from these jokers. Over several weeks they repeatedly lied to us and tried to exploit what I suppose they perceived as our naivety. Luckily we did our due diligence, and realized that they were unwilling to sell us the vehicle if they couldn't somehow also take advantage of us in the process. There were lots of examples of this kind of behavior, not only in negotiating the price, but also regarding the vehicle's condition. There were a number of problems with the car, but they refused to drop the price to cover even half the repairs that would be needed. They offered to perform some (not all) of the repairs at their own shop, but when pressed for more detail, the repairs they were willing to do were only stop-gap bandaids rather than long-term repairs, and they were not willing to warrant their own repairs. The day after we walked away, we found a newer, lower-mileage car of the same model, in near-perfect shape, for a significantly better price, at a dealership in another town 20 miles away. Well worth the trip. Wish we hadn't wasted our time here first. read more

Had an appointment for the service dept. called in previously and was given a price. When I showed up for the appointment the advisor said looks like you already got a price, to which I replied yes and said $133. I was then told it will take about an hour to an hour and a half to get this service completed. After sitting in the hard plastic chairs for over 3 hours I was called by the cashier that the vehicle was done. I walk outside to pay for it and the price was 150% higher, yes 150% higher than i was quoted. When I questioned why the increase and why I wasn't told about it they couldn't explain it other than I may have been misquoted previously. While I sat there for the 3 hour 1-1.5 hr service I heard multiple occasions of customers saying that is higher than I was quoted to which the cashier replied to discuss it with the advisor. Seems like common practice. Disappointing that they are not upfront and honest when it comes to pricing. read more
