Ok, when you see a Dominos (well, if you're from the U.S.), you may not typically think "Great lunch option!" This is partly because it's not always a bargain, at least not in Hawaii (where we live). But when we were on the search to feed our 7 year old twins and spied a familiar pizza spot on the horizon, the dynamic duo decided that they "had" to have pizza for lunch, especially since the other option in consideration (by mom and dad) was fish 'n chips.
We walked in, were immediately welcomed and explained how the two different menu options worked (one for take out and one for eat in). Hell, I wasn't even considering an "eat in" option since there wasn't a dining room in sight. I conveyed this to the Mrs. and she was like whatever gets these kids fed. So I settled the family in the dining area (upstairs) and headed back down to do the ordering. Looking at the prices for a pie ($5 NZD), I figured that these pizzas must be of the "personal pan" variety, ya know, a mini pizza for one. So I ordered a cheese pizza for each of the girls, a veggie for my bride and a Italian sausage (which wound up being much different than I was expecting, more a hot dog taste to me) for me. Since we need fluids, I ordered the 1.5L soda and garlic bread as well. Grand total: $25 NZD! WHAT!?!? That's about $17 USD . . . I could NEVER feed a family of 4 in Honolulu for that. Bargain!
After 10 minutes or so, we were notified via a monitor upstairs that our order was complete. I headed downstairs and this dude was standing there with 4 MEDIUM sized pizzas. I verified that this was my order and, surprisingly, he nodded . . . why, yes it is. Shocked, I grabbed the pies, soda and bread, and headed upstairs. My wife saw the full sized pizzas and the look on her face said it all: guess we're having pizza for dinner, too.
The service was fantastic and efficient.
The store was exceptionally clean.
There was a customer restroom.
The price was RIGHT - a medium size pizza for $3.40!!!
