I have been reasonably comfortable with my order over the years but branched out today and changed. I rolled with a baby chicken pita with hummus, tabbouleh, spinach, cabbage and topped off with all of their sauces (hot and mild chilli, mint yoghurt and garlic tahini). It was perfect. My insides always feel so happy after a visit, it really is good clean food (certainly worth a visit if you've had a large night on the town!). Everything is fresh, colourful and delicious. $8 for a baby pita which is more than enough for me. Today's visit was free, thanks to their loyalty number programme. Now to work on my next free visit, I'll be back on payday.

But, we were feeling tacos for dinner and it popped up as the first suggestion on Google Maps. Walking up to the stall, it was packed full of patrons eating outside, so a good sign. We got four tacos and I've detailed my thoughts below: The Bushman: there was a massive amount of pork belly and the sweet onion reduction which was good, but the huge amount led to mush when I picked up the taco. The integrity of the tortilla was hugely compromised by the toppings, so I wished there was a double tortilla situation. The Stockman: one of my favorites with the green hot sauce they have made from tomatillos and jalapeños. The chipotle créme fraiche were just three big circles on the taco, but it ended up being incredible to cut the richness from the brisket. The Fisherman: first bite and it was way salty and acidic, but I persevered through to a second, which was better. I thought that the fish itself was good, but the balance from the toppings was lacking. The Ken Tuckymwan: my absolute favorite. The freshness from the mango chunks cut through the richness from the fried chicken and that chipotle mayo. I really enjoyed this with the hot sauces they offered. Overall, the integrity of the tacos were really poor as the tortilla almost disintegrated after the second bite. But, the tacos pack a punch of flavor that makes the mess worth it.

They're both fairly the same size of tacos that we get here in California and nothing special to be honest even though the folks there said that it's not any taco we've ever had...and well there's plenty of these fusiony tacos here. The sauces on the table were fairly spicy for me esp. the mango. O V E R A L L The service was great and friendly. The seats inside were not many but they have tables outside after noon but no one was there the Saturday we left at 11am. That was not convincing so while one flipped through a massive binder I waited for manager to tell me there were only a few options for me and he could guarantee 99% gluten free with the slight possibility of cross contamination. The next night we decided to give it a try. We ordered stir fry vegetables ($12 NZ), the special noodles ($14 NZ), and seaweed soup ($4 NZ). The owner is a couple with their young children. While we waited we watched numbers of people come in and pick up take out. Most of them got fried chicken or fish and chips. Some were obviously locals that were greeted warmly. Don't get me wrong, we were treated very well. As it is not a full restaurant, they don't have hot tea or drinks aside from those in the coolers. As such the rather lightly flavored soup served as a hot drink. There were good bits of seaweed, some carrots, and egg drop to make it interesting. The noodles were special perhaps because it had slices of BBQ pork, chicken, and imitation crab stick. The sauce was fine. The stir fry vegetable dish had broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrots, and celery. Nothing special, the pieces were a too big, but after too many meals with chips as sides this was a really nice change. This place doesn't serve amazing Chinese food. Someone else will have to comment on the fish and chips and fried chicken, but it is a nice neighborhood place. The Chinese food is fine and the price is right. You can get ice cream for dessert!

I also tried a few bites of the Bleu Cheese burger with the roasted pears, it was also delicious! And as for the Curry Fries, I could have eaten them all myself! The prices were reasonable and the kids' meals were good sized compared to most. You order at the counter and find a seat inside. There's not a ton of seating but it looks like you could get it to go and sit by the lake very easily. I would eat at Devil Burger again for sure!
