The battered needed seasoning as well as the fries. Very bland. Then if you want tartar sauce, you actually have to pay for it. There are some bottles of malt vinegar on the tables. Yes, it is priced for tourists! The price of the fish are PER piece, which is about 120 grams, and all sourced from the South Island. The Fried Monk Fish was good. Moist, tender, meaty, flaky with a mild sweetness. Erik's Homemade Chips were good. A bit too much salt for me, but the chips were really crispy and soft inside. Keeping the skin made it better! Added a Blue Cod. This was similar to the monk fish, but more tender, delicate, flaky, and sweet. Both fishes were not seasoned, so be sure to sprinkle some chicken salt with a splash of vinegar. The way it was battered was messy and uneven, so you don't get the full crispiness. Overall, the fish and chips were good. No, it's not the same as in England, but it's New Zealand's version, and definitely acceptable. Yes, it's pricey, but that's just being in the heart of Queenstown. The fish were prepared well, fresh, and does not have that frozen taste. The staff there were very friendly and nice. I'd order from here again.

I have been reasonably comfortable with my order over the years but branched out today and changed. I rolled with a baby chicken pita with hummus, tabbouleh, spinach, cabbage and topped off with all of their sauces (hot and mild chilli, mint yoghurt and garlic tahini). It was perfect. My insides always feel so happy after a visit, it really is good clean food (certainly worth a visit if you've had a large night on the town!). Everything is fresh, colourful and delicious. $8 for a baby pita which is more than enough for me. Today's visit was free, thanks to their loyalty number programme. Now to work on my next free visit, I'll be back on payday.

But, we were feeling tacos for dinner and it popped up as the first suggestion on Google Maps. Walking up to the stall, it was packed full of patrons eating outside, so a good sign. We got four tacos and I've detailed my thoughts below: The Bushman: there was a massive amount of pork belly and the sweet onion reduction which was good, but the huge amount led to mush when I picked up the taco. The integrity of the tortilla was hugely compromised by the toppings, so I wished there was a double tortilla situation. The Stockman: one of my favorites with the green hot sauce they have made from tomatillos and jalapeños. The chipotle créme fraiche were just three big circles on the taco, but it ended up being incredible to cut the richness from the brisket. The Fisherman: first bite and it was way salty and acidic, but I persevered through to a second, which was better. I thought that the fish itself was good, but the balance from the toppings was lacking. The Ken Tuckymwan: my absolute favorite. The freshness from the mango chunks cut through the richness from the fried chicken and that chipotle mayo. I really enjoyed this with the hot sauces they offered. Overall, the integrity of the tacos were really poor as the tortilla almost disintegrated after the second bite. But, the tacos pack a punch of flavor that makes the mess worth it.
