Uh-mazing. We'd been in NZ for a few weeks and big time craving a legit burrito, and this hit the spot. Get the large sized burrito, it's a hearty meal. Just go for it. I got the crispy fish burrito and my partner got the veggie one. Both were awesome!! Great salsa, guac, and pinto beans. Mmm mmm mmm! This is a food truck in a small lot with a few other food trucks, and there are a few picnic benches. So you can eat there, or take it the short distance down to the lake to eat, where there are lots of picnic benches with small roofs, good for rain or shine :) read more

Who knew there was a food truck park in Wanaka?! I love tacos and made sure not to miss tasting these after a long hike up Roy's Peak. I ordered three tacos for $17, including the fish, pork, and beef. There's no indoor seating, so it can get quite cold waiting in the winter. Luckily for us taco addicts, there's a convenient campfire to keep warm in the meantime. You can eat at the picnic tables in the center of all the food truck or get your tacos to-go. I chose the to-go. In keeping environmentally friendly, all of their packaging is bio-degradable; no plastic or styrafoam here! I was impressed with the variety of accompaniments for each taco. I appreciated the chips that gave the beef taco a nice crunch, and the pineapple to tone down the semi-spicy pork taco. The pickled onions (with a bit of a kick) were also a nice touch. I have been pretty underwhelmed by Mexican food so far this side of the hemisphere, but wow. Burrito Craft is in a league of their own. Best vegetarian burrito I have had to date. So good in fact, I came back for a second night in a row (which is something I almost never do). I ordered the jackfruit small wrap burrito with level 2 spice. The jackfruit is Smokey, the lettuce and onions provide a fresh crunch, the cheese is a compliment instead of a dry mess and the refried beans + guacamole weren't loaded with salt. Truly, so good y'all. Only minus was that I, as someone who has worked on many lines in kitchens, could not understand how it takes them so long to pump out their food...but nonetheless their food is worth the wait. Easily the best burrito I've ever had in the southern hemisphere, nothing else even comes close. And, as I obnoxiously like to declare every time I review Mexican food, I lived in California for many years and lived in The Mission of San Francisco for many years. I know a good burrito, lol. The flavours are more trendy, "fresh Mex" like Chipotle or Baja Fresh, than a real traditional burrito like El Farolito in SF (imo, THE BEST burrito in existence and one of my favourite meals to have in life). One true downfall was the customer service. We ate here 3 times and they sooooo slow. The last time, it was raining and freezing and they had no other customers and we still stood there waiting for ages for our burritos. Come on guys. You can do better. read more

Unique hipster burrito place in Wanaka. As we were biking through we found this food truck next to a pizza food truck and a miniature golf course. It was pretty cool and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We ordered the beef Taco which had a crunch in between each bite and also was oh so delicious. We also ordered a burrito ... be careful of the large burrito for its delicious but quite messy. We also had a quesadilla which is uniquely done with minimal cheese but a great sauce to accompany it. overall would recommend this place to anyone .... and can't wait to come back again .... read more

It may have been due to the hike up to Roy's Peak that I had just finished, but this is possibly the best meal I've ever eaten. Even their tortilla chips stand alone in my top tier. I'm usually a little picky about what I put in my burritos, wraps, etc., but this was absolutely delicious. Better yet, they let you decide how spicy you want it to be as well on a scale of 1-10.
