Then we were greeted by Brandon, one of the two owners. He's delightfully conversational; he made us feel immediately comfortable and cleared a window table for us. Service was top shelf throughout our dining experience. Brandon made cocktails to go with the appetizers, he explained the menu and took dinner orders. I had the leg of lamb and my wife had the steak. Both were cooked to perfection and the sauces were exquisite. Dessert was delicious Mine was the rhubarb upside down cake with ginger ice cream! Yummy The chef Nicholas and other owner stopped by the table to inquire about our dinner, he too was entertaining and conversational. So, I have read rave reviews about their sandwiches so we're coming back to try them. But, don't be fooled this isn't just a sandwich shop nor is it just another steak house. This is extraordinary, I recommend that you try it!

Kind of crazy that this place is just located remotely on the way to the ferry to Canada. If you are headed towards the Port Angeles area for any reason, make this a stop. We had the Corn Beef and Corn relish sandwich and the salami and brie. Both were outstanding

This is a Pub/Bar with a view! And or you can sit outside and see the local seal swimming in the marina the outside area has Umbrellas in case its too hot or bright. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the most genuine and knowledgeable young lady, immediately let us pick a seat, near the window in the . Gave us options and directions to best suit our thirst, and food questions were addressed to help us decide on which delicious entree to pick. The kitchen is modest they have great selections and variety and I am pretty sure whatever you choose you will leave happy! My husband had the catfish basket with two HUGE hush puppies ( a tiny bit spicy) we loved them! Crisp and cooked to perfection do not be fooled by the darker outside. Catfish was cooked perfectly and we wanted more! They have medium thick fries which we really enjoyed also. I chose the Cuban sandwich because I love it and I also was not disappointed. Very filling and delicious. I think their tartar sauce is homemade and if you like tartar you will want to try it. Drink specials were also offered at a price that you could have two and not break the bank . Happy vibe, great service, delicious food and a view whats Not to like?! 5 stars and well deserved. We will be back and soon.!!

They have monthly specials that highlight different themes, so be sure to ask about the current food and drink offerings. They offer 18 beers on draft and two ciders, along with Ghostfish Brewing Company gluten-free beer in cans. The menu includes oysters, elk burgers, nachos, wings, calamari, cheese curds, tacos, and more. On weekends, they serve brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The patio area is nice and features bar stools that wrap around the entire building (there are no tables, just a bar-style railing). It can get a little warm outside since there's limited shade, but the view is to die for. For my gluten-free friends, the Brass Kraken offers gluten-free buns, corn tortillas for tacos, and one fully gluten-free beer option. A great place to visit it you are in the Poulsbo area.

Caffe Cocina "The Good, the bad, and the ugly"…read more Caffe Cocina is surprisingly busy, perhaps due the the Finn Hill Road drive through? I have very mixed feelings about this local Poulsbo, and soon to be Silverdale, establishment. The good: Caffe Cocina's food is arguably the best reason to visit one of their cafes. In particular, the chicken chorizo breakfast burritos are really delicious! The drink selection is extensive with some innovative twists on lattes and other coffee and tea based drinks. Unfortunately, I really judge a coffee shop on its ability to brew a really flavorful cup of black coffee - I will come back to that later in the review. The bad - The Finn Hill road location has mediocre to bad customer service depending on the day and the shift. Unless you are a charismatic individual under the age of 30, you are likely to be received with no shortage of attitude and general disdain...as if it is your pleasure to be ignored for as long as possible and then to have your order taken with the type of apathy that I would normally approach a Monday morning work conference call where you know you are going to have to listen to that one coworker that seems enamored with their ability to ask questions on points already sufficiently covered...I digress. The downtown location has much friendlier service, so head there if you do not require drive through services. The ugly - The coffee and coffee beans, probably tolerable if you are having an espresso-based drink, but I would shy away from the drip coffee and the beans for brewing coffee at home. The coffee is frankly over roasted, too oily, and decidedly one note for most of the beans that I have tried. I have sampled dark, medium, light roasts and single origins and have not tried anything worth recommending. Should this have been a 3 or a 4 star review? That depends on the location you are visiting and what you are visiting for. If you simply focus on the downtown location, I would by default increase this to a (4) star review due to the excellent customer service and the fact that they offer a pour over (unfortunately, the coffee is still mediocre). If you are visiting the Finn Hill location for anything other than the food, I stand by my (3) star review which is frankly generous given my experience most visits.

There is no place to sit inside but there are sidewalk benches or you can walk as you snack. I love that you can look at all the pastries from the side walk. They not only entice you to get a pastry or three but you can plan out what you want while waiting in line. When you order, if I remember correctly, you only get your items in a box if you order more than six items. If you order less they are placed into a waxed bag. I ordered the sour cream donut, Viking cup, and a butterhorn with almonds. I loved them all! They all tasted so fresh, had a great texture, and was absolutely yummy. The Viking cup had the perfect balance of frosting to bun.

There was a line out the door even 30 minutes before closing, but it went pretty fast and the shelves were also well stocked with pastries; not bare like I expected them to be coming so soon before closing. The person behind the counter explained that the Viking cups were all 20% off as the batch that day came out with irregular shapes. Taste wise it wasn't bad, tastes like a regular cinnamon roll but with more of that homemade touch you get with good quality ingredients and handmade cream cheese frosting (the contrast from store bought to homemade is big when it comes to cream cheese). The frosting had good texture and surprisingly I liked it better than the actual roll, especially since I'm known to always remove cream cheese icing. I think the roll would have been better if it had been served warm. Overall it was not bad, a little sweeter than I would have preferred, but I'm also not a huge cinnamon roll or cream cheese fan because of how sweet they always are in general, so that could just be a personal preference. Want to try the pecan roll or any of the cookies next time I visit, those sounded promising as well. Prices here are also pretty decent considering how touristy this place is, and coming from Seattle, anything under $5 is a relief. Definitely will become a place I hit every time I'm in Poulsbo!

When they came out to Washington State, a few decades ago in King County, I was ecstatic. Now that they've brought Jersey Mike's locally to Kitsap County, and especially Poulsbo, it's been pretty awesome. Jersey Mike's is my favorite sub sandwich shop, and I have known dozens of sub shops over the years. I love the freshness of all the ingredients from the bread, to the meats, to all of the condiments and vegetables and such. Their list of items for your sandwiches is small and very basic as compared to other popular sub shops. However, Jersey Mike, even with such few options to add to your sandwich, tastes a 1000 times better. I've had really great experience getting consistently good food from the restaurant. The two times when they messed up they were minor errors in that they didn't put the oil and vinegar on at my sandwich or something small like that. When I called up and talk to the manager they went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied. In this day and age when customer care is not what it ought to be everywhere, it's just nice to know that you can go to a place and get good food and when it's not right that they take the best care of you. I highly recommend Jersey Mike's. I always have and I always will. The only thing about Jersey Mike's is that you can't really get the food in a salad bowl and have it taste good. It is a sandwich joint 100%. I mean you can get a salad but it just doesn't work in salad form. If you have been to Jersey Mike's I bet you feel similarly as I do when you compare their subs to their competitors.
