I won't be eating from this restaurant again, I'm pretty sure. After going into the restaurant and ordering my food for my kids and I last night, I noticed a female employee, who stood behind the food preparation table coughing. How she used her hands during their cough, is unknown as I was unable to see, but she caught my attention. She then walked over to prepare my food I had just ordered, without washing her hands. Another female employee was also making one of our pizzas, helping the former employee I just mentioned. The employee, while preparing the pizza, coughed again, turning her head and coughing in mid air with her hands in the food while making our pizza. Once the pizzas were put into the oven, the other female employee walked away from it also coughing into mid air. Neither of them ever washed their hands nor used any sanitary procedures after making the food. The former employee I had watched since she made our food, never washed her hands the entire time I was there. She then began texting and using her phone walking in front of the counter focused on her phone texting conversation, never washing her hands, as well as taking phone orders, again never washing her hands. When I made an address of my concern to her, expressing that I was uncomfortable to eat the food after I saw that she had coughed and never washed her hands. This employee began laughing out loud, questioning it was her that did this. I affirmed I saw her do this. She then told management, who offered immediately to remake the pizza. However, this employee, while the manager was washing his hands to remake the pizza, walked over to him, laughing looking at me, finding this whole situation hilarious. The manager then turning around after hearing her comedy about the matter, looked straight at me, then proceeded onto making the pizza. I watched this female employee the whole time noticing she was finding this situation, or my concerns, hilarious and some kind of comedy hour for her...I guess cleanliness is funny to this employee? When I went to get the order, that the manager had made all the attempts to correct the situation, however, the employees response to my concern and her overt actions in expressing her feelings and attitude about it made me uncomfortable to want to eat the food from there at all, especially when there was no effort to correct the behavior, just addressing my concern for the moment. She was allowed to laugh herself all the way up and down the street about it, going into the back room, which I could hear, talking and laughing about it, making me out to be "crazy" instead of seeing this issue as a real concern for food preparers preparing food for customers. The original pizza this employee had fixed was allowed to sit on the warming table instead of being thrown away, and there was a mix up of what pizza box was mine and what was the old one...I felt too uncomfortable to eat anything from there, seeing they also expressed stable communications between each other for the customers proper food distribution. I made that clear as well. This employee was still laughing even while on the phone taking an order while I was finalizing my concern with management for a full refund and return of my full order. Her attitude about sanitary practices and the management's lack of concern over it as well along with lack of communication within the restaurant has made my decision to never go back to this place. Just fixing the concern for the moment to satisfy the customer isn't enough. Proper management is necessary while enforcing Florida's food safety standards is crucial to keep from spreading diseases. read more
