This was for a dinner with friends so I ordered 2 specials, especially since I needed some mild, some medium and some spiced hot. My mistake was going around lunchtime. I was getting hungry watching everyone eat and the food smelled wonderful. They were very efficient taking the order and I waited maybe 10-15 minutes...... which was good as they were busy. As soon as the server brought my order I asked her for a plate and silverware so I could eat some right away. It was hot, just a little spicy, full of sauce and a nice amount of chicken. It was delicious and I'll definitely be returning for this special.

DiLauro's has captured that memory & that flavor. So surprisingly good, mainly because their sauce is the sauce of the tomato gods; words alone cannot describe how ridiculously good it is. I was suckered in by the ads touting a new improved pizza based on customer feedback. As a customer-centric marketing advocate, I appreciated the ad campaign, and I love pizza, so I thought why not? I wasn't expecting a hand-tossed inspiration straight from Little Italy, but I was hopeful, I would at least enjoy it for what it was. I ordered a thin crust with pepperoni and black olives and a traditional with pepperoni. The traditional was soft. It seemed undercooked maybe. Hard to say. It was bad chain pizza at best, and I found the buttery-garlic crust , sweet sauce to be a real turnoff. The cheese was not great either. The thin crust was a little weird. It was more like crispy phyllo-dough. This pizza was slightly better than the other one...well at least the toppings stood out a bit more. Overall, the pizzas smelled bad...not like a good pizza. All in all...if this is what they tout as "new and improved," I shudder to think what the old stuff tasted like. And, if it is based on consumer research, I have lost all faith in my fellow human beings to distinguish pizza from vomit. read more

They were able to make me a medium pizza and park bites and had it busted out on 15 mins. The guy that worked there was super nice, seemed to running alot of the show too. Both times they were friendly and coherent over the phone taking our order. The pizza itself is pretty average. The crust was pretty stretchy, and the pizza didn't really have the flavor or texture to be remembered. The buffalo chicken was made with tenders, and was probably the best thing we ordered. The best part about the honey mustard wings was that they were covered in thick sauce. All in all it wasn't a waste of money coming here, we'll probably keep trying new places and returning to the places we loved.

I hate talking favorites for things as big as pizza, but this just might be my favorite Pepperoni Pizza in Syracuse. We've been back twice since then, pretty much on a whim when we happened to be passing by. First time was on a Friday, so we got some fried fish and a steak sub. We went with both the regular fried and beer battered. We ordered the philly/steak sub because it was featured on their website. We kind of know what we're going to get when we order a philly from a pizzeria, but figured it was worth trying if they're going to make it the first high def photo on their website. Despite the hype, it turned out to be the same meat, bread and cheese you get from any other pizzeria, or any other place that doesn't really go for it. Fried fish and philly steaks are never a bad meal, but this is about as low as it gets without crossing into malicious. We saw multiple people raving about the eggplant parmigiana, and I wanted to try their riggies. I figured Utica, Riggies, can't go wrong. Once again, we were in town, and it was on a Thursday, where they have a few dollars off. The riggies hit the requirements with the creamy sauce, the cherry peppers, the wicked tender chicken, and the peppers and onions were a good addition. My only complaint is that they weren't better coming from a place named Utica Pizza Company. They were exactly average - sauce could have been creamier, hotter, more flavorful. The eggplant parmigiana turned out to be nothing special, I'm not sure why people raved about it. Just an inch or two of thin sliced eggplant, breaded, cheesed and red sauced. With that last sentence as your recipe, you could make the same thing at home. We also threw in a medium buffalo chicken pizza, which was really good, but didn't have the same amazing texture the first pizza did. I had high expectations for this place, so if it seems like I'm complaining, it's definitely better than your average pizzeria. I'm sticking with five stars because the pepperoni pizza we got was absolutely perfect. We've been working our way through pizza places in Syracuse for years and this one stands out hard. Take or leave the other stuff, but absolutely get a large pepperoni and some wings.
