First of all, the waitstaff recognized my granddaughter (either they eat there a lot or she is just so memorable). She had a child's cheese pizza and I had the Margherita. We both ate 4 of the 6 slices which amazed me. She's 6 and not a big eater, but she certainly wolfed that down. Service was great and the pizza was delicious. I highly recommend Bella Luna if you are looking for pizza in Harrisonburg.

And we all shared a salad. Sharing a large-ish salad with a tablespoon of dressing was less than optimal but we weren't about to put out the waiter to get us more. The waiter was a bit snooty/hoity toity. He would swoop in a quickly and place something on the table not leaving much room for questions or interaction. I think he was ticked we didn't order drinks other than water. The meatballs were a weird texture. There werent any options for a pizza with veggies and meat that would provide a bit of texture while eating so the entire pie seemed one note. There was what seemed to be leoparding but also powdery soot what transferred to our lips as we ate. So that wasn't great. Good atmosphere overall. I would've liked to have been able to add arugula or something fresh to the top of the pizza after removing from the oven.

The knots were free, the pasta was good, plenty of food, more than enough for me, I would have had leftovers except I was going to a soccer game at JMU after and I didn't want to leave them in the car for hours. As always, we were greeted with a warm smile and seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and efficient, and she brought over some decadent garlic knots for us to enjoy while we waited for our meal. Of course, our meal was really nice! A little over cooked coconut chicken, but still very tasty! Beyond our own wonderful experience, I couldn't help but notice the exceptional service being provided to another table. I have honestly never witnessed wine service quite like that in person! The customer ordered a bottle of wine, and the waiter promptly brought it to the table carrying it as though he were presenting a million-dollar bottle. He carefully opened it right at the table and allowed the guests to taste the wine before offering to fill their glasses. For a moment, I felt like I had stepped into a black-tie, Michelin-star restaurant! The attention to detail, presentation, and genuine care he gave that table were absolutely impeccable. While our own service was wonderful, I couldn't help but notice that extra touch of grandeur being extended to his guests. THAT is what exceptional service looks like! Way to go, Vito's! All the food is delicious! Y'all gotta come here and try this place out. It's was definitely worth a stop to eat here for us. Great experience. Now even though I gave 5 stars there are a couple of things they should consider if the restaurant owner reads this review. Napkins or paper towels should be kept at all tables. Bathroom foot handle should be placed on the inside of the bathroom doors so we don't have to touch the handle when trying to leave the restroom to go eat our food at the table. Kids high chairs need to be wiped down really well and clean. We wiped it down before putting our toddler baby in one. Was really dirty near the middle buckle in the crevice. Other than that restaurant looked clean. Booths and tables were clean. Food was good. Service was friendly and welcoming. Pizza sold by the slice as an option which was awesome.

We arrived at around 6pm and the only seat remaining was in the corner with the speakers right behind us, playing good (but loud) music. With it, the "White Noise" pizza topped with caramelized onions, spinach, ricotta and banana peppers was a treat. Big enough to share and not be overly stuffed. Two squares each was enough. The second to last time we ordered online for pickup, my husband and I each got our own pizza. Each pizza had several ingredients on it. For some bizarre reason, they piled my pizza high with ingredients (which is great) and they put almost no ingredients on his pizza. It was basically a cheese pizza with a few scattered toppings. But we didn't discover this until we drove all the way home. So my husband was stuck with a pizza that wasn't very good, because he doesn't like cheese pizza. I don't understand why they would completely cover one pizza and not the other. I filled out the feedback form AND the contact form. Zero response. Many weeks later, we decided that it had to be a fluke, and decided to order online for pickup again. We were in a hurry, but I figured that if we wrote a note on the receipt to please cover BOTH pizzas with a lot of ingredients, they would. So I did. We picked the pizzas off and headed off to meet a friend. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we discovered that YET AGAIN they did the EXACT same thing. My pizza was absolutely covered - excessively so, including an absolute carpet of arugula on top. And my husband's was basically a cheese pizza. To be honest, it felt like they read my note, and decided to leave the ingredients off of one, just to spite us for asking. I don't know that that is actually what happened - but I couldn't figure out why one was absolutely coated and the other wasn't. It was really weird. So, AGAIN - I filled out the feedback form AND contacted them through the website. Nothing but complete silence. Management couldn't even be bothered to reply or try to make it right. So the only conclusion that I can draw is that they not only do not care about customer experience, but that they actively spite their customers. Don't eat here unless you can watch them make yoyr pizza in front of you. If they mess it up, they will not care and they will never make it right.
