I tried the fried pickles at Lakeview Tavern in Hiawassee, and honestly, they're exactly what you…read morewant when you're craving good bar food done right. They come out hot and perfectly crispy, with a light, crunchy breading that doesn't overpower the pickle itself. Each bite has that satisfying crunch followed by the tangy dill flavor that fried pickles should have. They aren't greasy, which I really appreciated, and the portion size is generous enough to share (though you might not want to). Paired with the ranch, they hit that perfect salty, savory balance that keeps you reaching for "just one more." Sitting there with the lake nearby and a cold drink in hand made them even better. If you're at Lakeview Tavern and debating on an appetizer, the fried pickles are a no-brainer -- classic, flavorful, and done right.

Let's end the night with cocktails, good food and amazing new friends. We found seats at the bar…read moreand thats where we were planted for the rest of the night. When visiting new establishment it's best to go with whatever your friend orders since this is their territory. She ordered the ribs and I was able to try one and it was by far one of the best I've had in a long time. I was trying to be good since overloading on food and alcohol. The last few days and opted for the grilled chicken dinner with broccoli. I was very much happy with my meal. I preferred to drink my calories so I did order myself a nice old-fashioned. Ambience was definitely fun and we were all enjoying ourselves and it's just a great atmosphere when you can also interact with the bartenders. I would go back again.

I have had pizza from all over the United States, including New York City. My husband has had pizza…read morefrom all around the world, including Italy. Nowhere have we found any pizza that compares to the amazing pizza at Legends and Lore. The restaurant is small and almost always busy. The decor is very interesting and will keep you entertained while you wait for your food. And speaking of food, the Flatwood Monster pizza is especially out of this world (pun intended.) One of the toppings is macaroni and cheese. I don't even like mac and cheese, but I love it on this pizza! If you haven't tried it, be sure not to miss it. Just a warning, it does have jalapenos on it. So, if you can't handle a little heat, then I recommend The Legend pizza, which is a supreme with the freshest toppings you'll ever find. Their sammiches are also delicious and very large. A whole hoagie is actually two large sammiches, so you'll have one to eat and one to share or take home. The wings are great too. Heck, everything is fantastic. The owners are friendly and really care about their staff, customers, and the people in the area, often generously giving food those who have fallen on difficult circumstances. They are, as we say here in Appalachia, good people. We drive 36 miles round trip almost every week from Englewood just to eat at our favorite pizza place. It's that good! We love Legends and Lore!!

It's no myth. Legends & Lore is a good place to eat…read more The inside of the shop is filled with tokens and pictures of your myth of choice, from the Loch Ness Monster to Bigfoot to every folklore monster in between, and their specialty pizzas have cute names and ideas that run with the theme, so choose your myth wisely. The pizza is good, not my favorite but I like their unique flavors, such as with the Rougarou and the Exorcist. People say to order the pickle pizza but I haven't taken that plunge yet. My favorite part might be their wings, very meaty and good choices of flavors. The Moonshine BBQ tastes like regular barbecue sauce but my favorite is their Honey Garlic Sriracha. Some of the wings are so hot you'd have to sign a waiver to try them. Some may call it legend-dairy, but I call it a pretty fun pizza joint!
