I initially asked about the bread because I've been to places where the bread is extra, extra thick, and I didn't want too much bread. I wanted a good balance of meat and everything else between the bread. Well, they didn't disappoint. There were several layers of turkey on both sandwiches, perfectly centered between delicious bread that was made in-house and wasn't overly thick. The French onion soup was also really good, and of course we had to order the caramelized onion dip. We ate inside, and they brought the food right to our table. Overall, great location, excellent food, wonderful service, cute atmosphere, and splendid people. Tony & Pete's was a great stop after our walk around downtown Dayton.

My son is autistic. He only eats Domino's pizza, but it has to be from this location. Every Monday, we go there and most of the employees know his name and his order (medium with extra pepperoni). But today was a special day, and he wanted to get pizza again. It was more special because the managers were there! They asked my son if he wanted to make a pizza..oh..his face lighted up!! As he followed the instructions from Erin..I could only cry...as a mom of a special needs kid, you can only feel blessed for such a generosity and kindness. I can not thank you enough for making my son so happy. He keeps saying he wants to work there when he grows up...I sure hope so because I know he would be surrounded by kind people and because your pizza is the best too!! read more

They have a few elevated tables and a few booths in the dining room, but there isn't much of an area in which to stand out of the way. The tables seemed cleared but I don't think that they had been actually cleaned for hours. The staff was friendly and they made the pizza correctly, and it came out in a reasonable time--10 to 15 minutes. They had at least two delivery drivers, which makes sense since it was Saturday evening. After I started to eat, most tables were full. It seems as though they never decided to move to a bigger location and it must somehow work out.

When they closed, I was thrilled to hear they reopened in Fairborn, especially since it's right where I live. The first time I tried the Fairborn location, it was everything I remembered and loved. Unfortunately, the quality and flavor have slowly gone downhill since then. It just doesn't have that same authentic taste that made me fall in love with Verona's in the first place, which is disappointing because there aren't many great New York-style pizza options in the Dayton area. I really hope they bring back that original consistency and attention to detail, because when Verona's is at its best, it's unbeatable.
