This is authentic and delicious Italian food.. many dishes are excellent, however after i fell in love with the Chicken Picatta i can't order anything else. i highly recommend this place read more

Have you ever walked in to a place and felt like you were unwelcome? That's exactly how we felt. The tension was high and the vibe was stress. We waited 15 minutes for anyone to say hello to us and our our name in. We went to the bar and we would have liked to get a glass of wine. Despite there only one person sitting at the bar we were ignored. read more

The servers are very nice and work hard. The food can be hit or miss. And normally I would give a restaurant like this 3 stars, however I would give it below a one star if that was an option, based on the owner. He is rude and doesn't appreciate his customers. I was a regular customer who would come in a couple of times a month. He had been rude before, but that last time I came in during restaurant hours, having called to confirm they were open, I was asked if I had a reservation. The restaurant was half full at the time, and I didn't have a reservation. I was told I couldn't be seated. I explained how I had just called to make sure they were open, he didn't care. He told me to leave. I left, and haven't been back. I hope more people realize how rude he is and stop coming. read more

I had scheduled a luncheon for Monday November 13th for 14plus people. They just called 4 days before to cancel with no reason . This is horrible service. I would never use them again or recommend them read more

The one here in Beaufort I've been to three times and each time it's been off slow service foods just average. If things haven't changed down an old Norcross go there because the dominates down there is amazing. I used to drive from flowery branch all the way down there to have lunch. Hopefully it's still worth the drive to Norcross. I would possibly skip Buford. read more

Quite possibly the worst Italian food I've ever had. Anyone who says it's great has just never had authentic Italian food. I had dinner in Buford last night. Ordered the simplest dish, shrimp scampi. They served at least a pound of pasta which is unnecessary, with absolutely no flavor, drenched in cheap olive oil and Parmesan cheese and 5 shrimp. (You don't serve scampi with Parmesan.) It was awful. When I commented this to the owner, he said "that's how we do it". P.s. he's not even Italian. my husbands chicken Parmesan was awful as well. Tough and the breading was overcooked. What a mess. Not much on ambiance either. It doesn't really rate a star but you can't post without one! J read more

The good: the lasagna! Man it was good, I ordered the half portion and it was massive. The garlic bread was phenomenal. The potatoes that comes a side, excellent. The bad: the ribeye. Utterly disappointing. My daughter ordered and I wondered why she left most of it at the end of our meal. So I tasted it and it tasted burnt. Funny thing is that it didn't "look" burnt but it tasted horribly burnt like burnt oil. I used to cook in a restaurant decades ago and it tasted like food that is cooked on a flat top when it hasn't been cleaned or scraped the entire day. Frankly when you have an expensive cut of meat on the menu you have to get it right. Every. Single. Time. This place isn't cheap so getting the steak wrong is a massive hit to the rating. I'd go back for the lasagna but I'd steer clear of all the grilled meats especially the ribeye on the menu cause who ever is back there cooking clearly has no respect for that kind of cut. The service was great, our server was very nice. Update: I will be giving this place another shot and try the ribeye again cause I really want to like this place and I'll update the review. read more

This place defines the word underwhelming. I really have no idea how they are in business with such short operating hours but that's another story. Food- Chicken parm was greasy and black. "Garlic" angle hair had exactly zero amount of garlic in it and tasted like toilet water went into the pot before making it. Eggplant parm was slathered in red sauce probably to cover up its lackluster taste as well. Too bad the sauce was more repulsive then the eggplant. Husband got the wrong pasta. It's no wonder they have gone down to 3 stars and falling. Cheap ingredients and no customer service is the driving force behind this place now. read more

My family and I had a lovely meal on a Saturday evening. The food was great. We especially enjoyed the GARLIC with melted cheese bread & the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. The GM was very attentive. The portions are large so don't be afraid to share. Our server Taryn was efficient and professional. We had a nice time and plan to dine there again soon. read more

Very disappointed ! Had to send back $6.00 garlic bread because it was cold and stale. Ordered the shrimp scampi half portion, very generous size but cold and no favor. Include coffee and a slice of cake and a $10.00 Martini We are talking $64.00 Before tip ..::::::: Never Again !!!!!! read more

This chain is my favorite Italian pasta restaurant. I've been to the downtown Norcross location and was thrilled to find one much closer to home. The service here is good and they have all of my favorites! We love that they are open late and that even though we showed up in the last 45 minutes, they still had their full selection and the food was fresh. I never realized that Dominicks had a full service bar. I was in need of a margarita and was worried that they only offered wine based on what was offered on the menu. If you want something else, you'll just have to ask b/c they didn't seem to feature any mixed drinks on a menu despite having a full bar. Dominicks continues to have the most delicious pasta I've had. Their noodles are so tender and seem to be made from soft pasta and not the generic hard pasta you see at the grocery store. Their sauces are incredible! I feel like you can really taste that each is made from scratch. This is not generic and cheap (quality-wise) like Olive Garden - Dominicks is so much more authentic. The portions here are HUGE! We normally get the half portion and it's enough for 2 people so we happily take home leftovers each time. I definitely recommend the garlic cheese bread, it's unlike any other garlic bread I've had and had crispy, thin slivers of roasted garlic - delicious! read more

Dominick's - Italian Near Me - Buford, Georgia

The food was not very good taste or quality. Very average, so it did not match the supposed fancier vibe the restaurant tries to give off. The server was very nice but was overwhelmed with too many tables, so our table became neglected. Also, our food took a really long time to come out. I might give the place another chance and try something different (I had the mushroom ravioli, it was too sweet tasting). read more

Some of the best Italian food that I've ever had. I go here every time I'm in town. Spectacular food and massive servings.

Service was VERY slow, though the waitress was friendly and professional. My chicken parmigiana was burnt to a crisp, inedible. I suffered through the smallest piece and couldn't finish the rest. A family member got the meatballs, they used to be the size of tennis balls, now they were the size of pingpong balls....also burnt to a crisp. Another family member told me their meal was overcooked. This is disappointing because this place used to be good. They've gone down hill. We probably won't come back. read more

Never again! Owner is rude and does not care if business is a success! Closed doors early no notice - called in advance and said open went there -NOPE CLOSED!!! Several of our friends met here for dinner. The service was great. The food was delicious & are huge portions which could easily be shared. The eggplant Parmesan was at least 5" high. We'll definitely be going back. read more

This is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant. I tried the Dominick's in Norcross before finding this much closer location in Buford. I am a fan of both restaurants and have never had bad food or a bad experience. Their dishes first off are HUGE - you will have leftovers. The pasta is perfectly cooked and their sauce, all of their sauces, are delicious. I despise chef boyardie-esque dishes that are served at "authentic" Italian restaurants and therefore thoroughly enjoy and appreciate all of the food at Dominick's. My favorite sauce is the Neopolitano which is a creamy tomato sauce. They serve complimentary house bread which is delicious but I highly recommend the garlic bread appetizer. It has thin, crispy slices of garlic cloves and is swimming in butter. read more

We arrived at 9pm on a Monday night. The sign says they close at 10pm. After being seated the waitress said that she didn't mean to rush us but the kitchen was closing. We had to rush our order and really didn't have time to consider the wine list or the food items. In the end we picked two random wines and had the veal picatta and portabello ravioli. The veal was very chewy and the ravioli was very bland. The latter came with sun dried tomatoes, onions, and spinach, but it still wasn't enough to make the dish interesting. Even a lot of salt didn't really help that much. I just realized that they don't serve a starter salad or soup after we left. After we scarfed down our entrees we inquired about dessert at 9:30. The waitress apologized that the kitchen had gone home. Apparently there's some magic to slicing a piece of cheesecake that only the cooks can do. That cinched the one star rating for me. They locked the door behind us and closed up early. For $50 we received below average quantity of food (missing the soup or salad), were rushed in ordering, had bland vegetarian food, bad cuts of meat, and had to skip dessert. We could have walked out of Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden with a better experience and dessert for around the same price. read more

We came for a birthday dinner!!! Service was good. They only used the main parlor and only had two severs on staff. Apps were great and bountiful and dinner was even bigger. I shared a full mushroom ravioli which was a little over salted but it was still good! Server help with a birthday cake and lighting candles for us which was great with no cake or cutting charge! Owner, I think it was, was nice and appreciative. Only down was the bathrooms were not that clean and they had a broken toilet. Need to re- grout around the toilets and around the faucets and do some deep cleaning. As long as the bathrooms are cleaned up, we will come back. read more

I usually don't like to write reviews, but I had to share my horrible, awful, worst service I've ever had in my life...This was my first time visiting, this restaurant and my last..First, the hostess was dressed in t-shirt and leggings, second we were seated, and sat for fifteen minutes, with numerous waiters walking by, my boyfriend and I were wondering if we had a server. Finally after 15 minutes, a gentleman came, and took our drink order and appetizer, again after about 20 minutes, we finally got some water, we were wondering if we were going to get our drinks we ordered, than we finally saw a kid, go behind the bar, and get a book, I guess, how to make our drinks, well of course they were horrendous, sent back and just got a soda..We finally got our garlic bread, but my boyfriend still hadn't gotten his salad, finally he had to find the waiter, to see if it was coming..It finally comes, after about three bites in, our entree arrives, that tells you how late the salad was...Throughout our meal, our server not once, came over to see if everything was okay, even though he passed our table several times, and visited other tables..At this point, I was so fed up with such blatant, non- service from this server, I asked another waitress, if a manager was here, and if I could speak with him..We'll, a kid came over and said he was the manager, I told him about the terrible service from our server, and asked for our check, and boxes, so we could just leave...Then the manager brings the check, for $97.00 , my boyfriend gives him a credit card, he charges it, comes back for my boyfriend to sign, but the amount was for $37, so were confused about why the amount is different, so we head to tell the manager, there's a discrepancy in the amounts, and what to make sure, we get the right check, well the manager, can't seem to figure out what he's done, so we're standing there for about 15 minutes, so we asked, what is wrong, we have to leave, we're going to be late for another engagement... when out of nowhere, this boy child server, screams, across to my boyfriend, " don't be yelling at my boss", and became very, rude, and nasty, I couldn't believe I was experiencing this, I said, first my boyfriend isn't yelling, we just want to pay the right check amount so we can just leave this place...The young, rude waiter, became very aggressive, I asked the manager, you allow your server, to yell, and argue with customers, when he doesn't even know what the issue is.... I couldn't take it any longer, I had to leave , so I waited outside for my boyfriend, who tells me, somehow, we were charged for an Uber order, and he couldn't fix it, so he just ended up crediting back $37..... read more

The good: very good service! Friendly server, food came out quick, drinks always full. The Eggplant Parmesan was very good, and a large portion for lunch. The bad: The bread at lunch wasn't good. Don't they normally have a delicious garlic bread? This was small cut up pieces of focaccia, maybe - Not good. I ordered the veggie sandwich- menu description sounds delicious. Tons of veggies roasted on focaccia with balsamic mayo. NOPE it was a mushroom hoagie. No focaccia bread - the bread tasted like a Kroger hoagie roll. Also, the pasta salad had a funny texture. Disappointed :( read more

Dominick's is a solid for us for takeout once a month or so. The portions are huge (family style), so be prepared for that when ordering. My husband and two young kids can all get full off of a half order of chicken parm. Everything we've had here has been good. read more

I won't comment on the food, although the manager was accommodating. Definitely not the Dominick's I dined at in Norcross. Also, no handicap parking or any way to roll a wheelchair in.....must enter through the kitchen.....shameful! read more

Customer Beware!!! Visited Dominick's tonight and ordered a full order of the Eggplant Parmesan that was listed on the menu for $19.95. When my bill arrived the price increased 31% to $28.95. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, he said that the price of their meals changed today and he would not honor the price that appeared on the menu. It's not unreasonable for customers to expect to pay the same price for their meal as the price on the menu. I'm sure the Better Business Bureau will agree. So as a safeguard, make it your practice of asking your waitress if the prices on the menu have changed before ordering your meal at this establishment. read more

This Dominick's location at Hamilton Mill Road and Buford Highway is the worst restaurant I have ever experienced. I beg you not to patronize this establishment. We recently waited for almost 50 minutes to be served, while other tables had their orders taken, were served dinner, then served dessert, paid and left before our food came out. No consideration at all for the comfort of guests. The owner did nothing about this, content to sit at the bar and socialize rather than tending to his guests. After 40 minutes we asked the owner to find out what was going on. He disappeared and never came back. He's the type of owner who isn't in it because he's passionate about being a restauranteur or hospitality. It's a money play, nothing more. The food was worse than microwaved TV dinner. It's not quality Italian, and while portion sizes tend to be large, most dishes lack any redeeming qualities. We even had to return one of our meals because it was undercooked mush. Do not make the mistake of trusting this restaurant with your dinner plans, let alone any sort of special occasion. read more

Easily the worst Italian food on the planet. The food was legitimately bad enough to make you angry with your own existence. The lasagne looked and smelled like canned dog food. The Alfredo was so watery (also had literally zero flavor, like literally zero), I wouldn't be surprised if it was water with white food coloring. The meatballs were atrocious. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to go to this disgusting waste of a space. Can't even call this dump an establishment. The portion size is huge, probably because the food is literal garbage and they want to get rid of it themselves. I walked directly out of the restaurant with the leftovers I had and threw it immediately in the dumpster behind the lame excuse of a restaurant. Terrible terrible terrible. read more

We have been coming here for dinner on special occasions since they opened, and we have never had anything but great food and very good and attentive service. Everything from their simplest dishes to the more gourmet - they really make a fantastic meal. The salads are always fresh and the hot bread with warm marinara is second to none! They also have a full bar. If you are in the Buford area, this is a place I can confidently recommend. read more

My family & I went for dinner on a Friday. We made our reservations online which was easy & we got a confirmation email quickly. Our service was excellent. I always love personable service. I ordered the portobello mushroom ravioli & cannot rave enough about this meal. Definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

We went with a large group and noticed that some people's menus were different than others, my boyfriend ordered the steak because his menu said it was roughly $20. We got the bill and he was charged $39 for the steak, he would have never ordered a nearly $40 steak at an Italian restaurant. We asked our server and she told us that the menus have been being switched out so that may be the issue and asked if we would like to speak to the manager and we said yes. This man came over to us with one of the menus that my boyfriend did not have and told us that all of the menus have been the same for over a year and that the steak is sold at market price and it's his fault for not asking how much it was. His menu and other peoples' at our table clearly listed a price for the steak and we even talked amongst our table about how our menus didn't all match. The owner was not willing to admit he was wrong at all and assured us that what we were saying was not true. We are not liars, and we will never be back. read more

Pros: best garlic bread ever. Order two loaves if you go. Cons: atmosphere, staff and food were subpar. Overall, nothing special. I wouldn't recommend or go back. I might order take-out for the garlic bread, tho. It was that good. read more

I've given them 3 chances in two years. They've disappointed me with the food quality of three different meals. Wine selection is good and so is atmosphere but it's not good Italian food. My last visit I had the spaghetti and meatballs. the meatballs were dense and just bland. Honestly, a Stouffer's frozen spaghetti dinner tastes better. You also have to buy the bread with your meal which is typically a freebie at other Italian restaurants. But the bread is really good. I'd say it's the best part of the meal. My wife had the chicken. It's a lot of chicken but not much flavor. I'd recommend them for wine and bread but have your dinner main course somewhere else. read more

My wife wanted to eat here as she's eaten at the Lawrenceville location and liked it. I had the Chicken Carbonara, and my wife had the Chicken Scallopini. The Chicken Carbonara was plentiful because my waitress didn't give me a heads-up that I was ordering a full portion vs. a half portion. It was shown on the menu, and I was intending on ordering a half portion, but it took a while before our order was taken and it slipped my mind, and I just ordered the Chicken Carbonara. Boom! I got a king sized order, but the quality and taste were nothing special, so a bit disappointing for the price. As for the Chicken Scallopini, my wife said her dish didn't look anything like the very same dish at the Lawrenceville location. The only thing she stated as a positive as the size and quantity of capers. Net-net. This was our first and last visit to this Dominick's location. read more

This restaurant has really gone down hill. Beware, their health scores have been consistently poor. In their most recent inspection they had many food items that were more than 7 days old. Specifically, their Risotto and Manicotti were over 7 days. The REALLY bad one uncovered by the Gwinnett County Health Department was Mussels that were over a week old yet they were still serving them. Even worse is that this is a repeat violation so obviously they don't care about the health of their customers. read more

Everything at Dominick's tastes like cheap olive oil. You start with bread that reminds me of a lighter, airier version of ciabatta, brushed with crummy olive oil and mowed over with powdered parmesan cheese. It's not what I would call good, but it will fill you up. More oil and some garlic would be nice. The house red wine is pretty awful as well, but then again it's the house red wine at an Italian restaurant. Shocker. Everything on the menu has two prices, which say half or full serving. The half servings could probably feed two people, and the full servings are family size and could feed a few. I had the Chicken Parmigiana, which was not very good. As I mentioned before, it had a cheap oil taste that lingered in my mouth, The pasta it was served with was bland. I also tried the mushroom triangle shaped ravioli and it was equally tasteless. Overall, I like the concept of family style Italian dining, but it just seems like they are using poor quality ingredients for the price here. Would not return. read more
