This was my 1st time eating at Dominick's in Buford, GA. The food was plentiful and served HOTT! You will need a to go box after trying to eat it all. The food itself was just okay. I ordered a chicken parm and it was 4 chicken Breast on 1 plate a d the spaghetti noodles came out separately. I didn't like that part. They should come married on the same plate. The noodles and sauce lacked flavor. Had to find the salt & pepper to make it taste like something. The bread came out looking GOOD, but it was kinda oily. I liked it but at the top and middle parts. The sweet tea was good. Our server was nice, but I don't remember her name. Soooo, she didn't make an impression on us or didn't state her name. The ambiance was nice and open and family friendly. We had a group of 11. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking. Handicap accessible. All in All, I would recommend trying this spot if you are in Buford, GA and judge them for yourself. read more

Really disappointed in our experience tonight. We have been to this location and the one in Norcross before and always had a pretty good experience. They had a large group in the back room tonight which I am assuming was at least partly responsible for our poor experience. We were seated quickly and our server was friendly. We ordered garlic bread to start and then chicken parmigiana for me and chicken carbonara for my son. It took close to 30 minutes to get the garlic bread which was concerning and then another 30 minutes to get our entrees. My son's chicken carbonara was good and he enjoyed his meal. My chicken parmigiana was the worst i have ever had and for the first time in my lift I sent a meal back. The server was very nice and asked if I wanted something different but by this time we had already been at the restaurant close to an hour and a half and I did not want to wait another 30-60 minutes for another entree. The worst part about the evening was my son wanted to go to Olive Garden for dinner and I talked him in to going to Dominick's instead. It pains me to say this but we probably would have had a better experience at Olive Garden. read more

It was my first visit to this restaurant, tucked away in a small neighborhood shopping center in Buford. It offers a family-style Italian dining experience with relatively good service and generous portions. I especially liked the option of choosing between half-size and full-size portions, which is a great idea. We enjoyed both the welcoming atmosphere and the food. read more

Not bad but not good either. Taste wise, it could be seasoned a little more but the portions are pretty big. Maybe i need to try other items on the menu. read more

Ambiance was the only redeeming quality. The bread (an easy win) was awful, chicken in the dishes were unseasoned pan fried and dry. While I was not eating it I could smell the ammonia from the mussels someone else at the table ordered. When the seafood was sent back nearly uneaten nothing was comped. Not even close to worth the price. Server was friendly and attentive. read more

I would've gave it a 5 based on service, food and atmosphere but when we went the ac was broken and the ladies were complaining about the heat in the restaurant. The place is nice decorated and spacious, our waitress was very attentive and it was honestly the best eggplant parmesan I've ever had!! The spaghetti that came with it and the mussels were great also. The portion sizes are also shareable so that's a plus!! read more

Went with a group for my husband's birthday. We've been many times before. Someone in the group tried to order a Lemon Drop Martini. They didn't have it but had other flavors. Someone else wanted a rib eye - no rib eye. Two of the dessert items we tried to order - tiramisu and chocolate mousse were also not available. The quality of the food has definitely declined. Very disappointing. read more

I've been here several times. Dominick's does family style servings and the full size servings are generous. The restaurant is cozy and gives a romantic vibe and service is top notch. We were greeted at the door and our server Nicole took very good care of us. I wish the story ended well however the food and bar drinks were a problem. Specifically the lasagna lacked cheese and sauce, it was merely a stack of noodles. A chicken and pasta dish had chicken which was dry and pasta and clams tasted like the clams were from a can. The chicken parmigiana was delicious but was just a chicken cutlet lacking the cheese and sauce. We had several other dishes but at this point I'm beating a dead horse. And now the bar. Several old fashions were served lacking a good splash of bourbon and heavy on the simple syrup. They must have run out of orange peels too. Food is your business, when you give up, it shows. read more

The first thing should've been there was only one three person table busy in the whole restaurant at 5:30 at night. The waitress was very polite and did her best selling the product that she was selling. Portions were very large, but very bad. The garlic bread came out looked good in a cheese queso like cheese with butter and garlic somewhat not very tasty not Italian bread. Stale and dry no flavor. THE ANTIPASTO WAS AT BEST somewhat edible. The calamari was overcooked very tough to chew and comes with jalapeño peppers more peppers than calamari. I tried their soup of the day and it was very boring couldn't eat Tough to chew. And I've never had a chew soup sent , sent it back to the kitchen The lasagna was very well portioned, but very rubbery and couldn't tell if it was lasagna noodles or rubber the one meal that was good possibly was the Mediterranean tortellini it was fluorescent orange and too much sauce or gravy The chicken Parmesan was overcooked and dry and not enough pasta sauce. with hair pasta with a blasé marinara sauce Would not recommend Dominic's Buford to anyone A couple members of our party said this is the worst restaurant ever been at hard to call it Italian read more

Delicious food and amazing service. Always get the large orders so there are plenty of leftovers!

Dominick's is doing their best to be a fancy sit down family style restaurant. I finally got around to coming here for a family birthday dinner, we've been wanting to try this place for the past 7 years we've lived here, but found it hard since they're only open for dinner hours of 5 - 8 pm. I found the interior to be small but neat and quaint. Our service was good as well. The food was just okay. My biggest complaint would be for the size. The menu lists "half" and "full" portions for all of their dishes. Okay, so how much is a half or a whole? The answer, half feeds two, whole feeds 4-6. Got the half lasagna for just myself and it was too much. Every adult dining wanted to get something different. So you might see a problem or no problem at all leaving with a bunch of leftovers! The taste was just okay. I'm pretty sure my lasagna was pre prepped and nuked when I ordered it. read more

Food is horrible. Do not waste your money here. Food is priced like a 5 star restaurant. Might as well go eat Italian at Applebees.

The food is equivalent to ordering Italian at Pizza Hut, very over priced meals for the quality you receive. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're starving. read more

Food was very mediocre service was good but the manager was very irritating. We were in a private room BY OURSELVES and the manager came in and told us we were VERY loud and were in a public place. We have never been told as a group we were to loud or anything at other restaurants we have been to. CRAZY expensive and they didnt split our bill well at all. read more

Absolutely delicious. Came here for a business dinner in Georgia. For appetizers we ordered arancini balls, stuffed mushrooms and garlic bread. These were amazing. Then the dinners came out. We ordered the half portions and they were huge! I'm afraid to see the full portions after this! This was a great restaurant! read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants, especially for lunch! They have specials for lunch and there is also a lunch express portion on their menu. Smaller portions, but still very generous. The food is delicious, and the Service was wonderful. We always split one of their great salads and a pasta entree. The bread served at the table is great. Love the variety on the wine list and fairly reasonable prices. Their wine dinners are awesome also! read more

We looked up their times it said 5-8pm. We arrived at 7:30. There were a few people at the bar and a family in the restaurant . We were told they weee closed . I told them the sign says serves til 8:00pm. The hostess didn't care said they were closed . I believe the owner was at the bar because when we closed the door he got up and locked it . This is no way to run a business . It almost seems like they want to sabotage their own business . No need to ever patronize a place that really does t care . read more

It was my first time eating here. The restaurant was packed, we had reservation at first but waited 5-10 minutes. The menu had so many options to choose from. The portions are pretty big considering they offer half or full servings. Let me say the garlic bread was amazing! The plate I order wasn't appealing and good for me. I wish I order a pasta dish, it was my mistake. Also, the restaurant was very nice and inviting place to eat and chit chat. I would definitely recommend read more

I never enjoy writing a bad review but I feel like I owe it to other potential patrons to share our experience. This was the worst (and I do mean WORST) food experience I've had in a very long time. If Dominick's offered me a free meal to come back, I would decline. The food was absolutely flavorless. The texture of the chicken would be described as rubber and it didn't help that several entrees were undercooked. My personal chicken entree was one of them. The pink juices oozed from my undercooked chicken into the cold gelatinous sauce. I was utterly revolted. We did have a very large party but that's no excuse. Half of us were served while the other table waited an additional 15 min for their food. Drink refills were sparse. For the ones who ordered a bar beverage, the wait was tremendous. There were supplies left lining the floor of the main dining room. Aside from our large party and one other group... there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. Our servers weren't unfriendly and had the best intentions so this is nothing against them personally. It's nauseating that we spent over 1300 dollars and out of 26 people, not ONE PERSON was happy with thei entree. The ONLY thing I enjoyed was the crab cake app. Please trust the 2.9 Yelp review. I have to assume the others had a similar experience. Sorry Dom's Buford. I don't know how y'all are still in business. read more

First of all, I think this place could do a lot with just changing the ambiance. They want it to be a nicer Italian restaurant it's more pricey than any other Italian in the area, so why not dim the lights? Have some candles. Not just a bright huge open room. Secondly, I don't know if he was the owner or manager but when we walked in he looked as if we wouldn't be seated without a reservation instead of being friendly and welcoming us in. There was plenty of open seating, did we really need a reservation? I just didn't get a welcoming feel. The food was okay. For the price, I would rather go to Provinos personally - since my meal wasn't outstanding. Staff wasn't overly nice at all. Weird atmosphere. This makes me sad because I love the lawrenceville location so have always wanted to support this one but it's just not the same experience. read more

Went there for my birthday. It was ok, I think that the portion are definitely sharing but the quality of the food was alright. Calamari was good! My husband ordered stuff porkchop. It was over cooked, Spinach on top was burnt so it made everything bitter. I got a shrimp dish with cream sauce. Shrimp was good and cooked nicely but the sauce was thin and you can taste the cream/milk as if you just poured it. No flavor and didn't coat the pasta. I wouldn't go back unless it was a special event for someone else. I think bibas in flowery branch is 100x better. read more

JUST went there to celebrate Valentines Day. so the owner was the one seating people. ( tells ya something right there. Doesn't trust anyone else?) Me and my son were meeting my husband. Had made reservations TWO weeks ago. Me and my son got there first but he wouldn't seat us bc the third party wasn't there. So then a lady walks in and he seats her right away even though her husband wasn't there yet. So we get a crummy and cramped table and this couple gets a very nice table in the back. All while he had a scowl on his face. VERY UNPLEASANT!! Also felt like we were being rushed!!! Will NOT be returning!!! read more

I feed my dogs better food than this. 1. The lasagna was actual mush on layers of some sort of unflavored mush. 2. The pasta was flavorless, there was sauce on it but there wasn't a dot of seasoning on it. It tasted like just boiled pasta water. 3. The artichoke dip tasted like old wilting artichoke. 4. We literally took the leftovers and chucked it into the dumpster in the back. All 3 pounds of pasta slop. 5. I hope they also get better servers because we told the server (in a very polite way) that we would like to order something else since the lasagna wasn't good. She then proceeded to walk back to her lil friend and they stared at us, shook her head and continued to GLARE at us for expressing that we didn't enjoy it... very unprofessional! I usually don't write reviews but this dump, I mean restaurant needs a wake up call. read more

Wow - what a horrible decision to go back there... Talk about hit and miss - that is Dominicks to the letter! I called to get dinner and asked about sandwiches - as I didn't see them on the dinner menu. The guy said sure sure we have them. I called back and ordered the subs... waited about 30 min and walked in to pick it up and low and behold - $53.00 later I get huge pans of food - and the owner I suppose said - no we don't have sandwiches at night?! I showed him I called on my phone and he had already ran my credit card - after waiting so long - I was just done - so reluctantly - I accepted these pans of total garbage! The chicken parm cutlets were semi overcooked and just stringy chicken - Blechhh! The eggplant parm was so paper thin and I don't know how it was chewy and parts were just hard - WOW BAD! The pasta was wrong as I ordered spaghetti and got angel hair (nice surprise... not) - The meat sauce tasted metallic and a bit sour... The actual angel hair pasta - which we ordered with garlic and cheese - no cheese and it literally smelled like sink water. We threw the food out - just the same as we threw it into Dominicks piggy bank. Really I am pissed that the (3) stars didn't keep me away for the second time... Holy Crap - this was such a horrible attempt at getting dinner - I am shocked they stay open! read more

Recommend for a business lunch as having great food and an inexpensive lunch menu. It was my treat. Arrived at high noon as the first table to be seated. I was a little bit surprised at the lack of customers, but the rest of the tables filled soon. I didn't even open the regular menu. The card with the lunch specials was on top and offered a nice selection for $6.99. - We were chatting a bit - business stuff... The server stopped by but applied no pressure to place our order. Very friendly and professional. When we did order, all of us ordered from the specials menu. My colleagues both had the chicken marsala with a side of pasta and a salad. I ordered the meatball sub with fries. The chicken looked great and the other two commented first on how good the salad was, and on the entree. My sandwich was very good. Bread was crusty on the outside and soft inside. Tasty meatballs and a little maranara & cheese to round it out. I didn't expect much when I ordered the fries. The server offered the pasta salad as a side, but when I chose the fries, she told me that today they were waffle fries, which was OK by me. I don't think I ever had better fries than these. Obviously double-fried, ala the Belgians - crispy, almost crunchy on the outside and soft & tender inside. Add a little spicy seasoning, and I could have eaten a bucket of these! The menu offered curly fries - not sure why the change that day, but they were really incredible. The lunch crowd came and went and we lingered, talking business (among other things) until everyone else had gone. No pressure to move on, which is a welcome thing in a restaurant these days. Next time in the area, I won't hesitate to stop in again. read more

This is the best place for a weekday lunch with friends or coworkers. I don't write review unless I'm impressed. I've had the american'ized version of Italian food all over the country and world. Dominick's has blown me away. Half orders are for 2-3 people! Lol everything was delicious. Front of house manager was polite and attentive. Our hostess was hands down one of the best we've had at any local restaurant. If waitress poaching was a contest, Dominick's won. She covered 7 tables by herself flawlessly. We waited for nothing. Every table was covered and she knew the menu without hesitation. I will be back. I will bring friends. I will tell everyone. Furthermore, I'm in the food service industry, I would fix minor things but overall this place is hands down wonderful. Don't miss the garlic bread, which sets the standard for Italian restaurants. Request the half order unless you like lots of leftovers. Every menu item is authentic and prepared perfectly time after time: Eggplant parm, chicken parm, spicy chicken & sausage casserole. Switch things up and request the fra diavla sauce to enjoy something a little more spicy. The friendly host will seat you very quickly.
