Don't EVER ORDER FROM THEM. If you don't wanna get Mistreated by their oil delivery drivers don't order from them. I had a Delivery they're supposed to call you half hour before coming. I am disabled the delivery driver telling me he was ready to takeoff on me. He was absolutely infuriated that it took me a whole two minutes to get down the stairs probably and he's rushing me. I had to get the landlord downstairs to open the basement Which wasn't taking any serious amount of time All required was when call . Had he done his job and called me half hour prior like the company said he had to, this would've taken less than five minutes like it actually took. He seemed very impatient, and he was a very large size guy, who kept puffing out his chest and Behaving in a very ghetto fashion towards me. (All caught on my cameras). When I Told him to please be patient because he can clearly tell I was having a hard time walking recovering From an illness, he told me it wasn't his problem as he kept intimidating me brushing past me with his large body almost tilting me over. He told me my illness was not his problem, and he didn't care. He refused to provide me with his name when asked for the last time for his name He rolled his eyes, turned around, walked to the truck and told me his name was "James" don't know if that's his real name or not. At that point I proceeded to his so-called good for nothing manager David, who was only worried about the sale As I tried to explain to him the turn of events. I couldn't even ask David any further questions as he hung up on me. I can actually hear David Take a deep sigh, as he was being annoyed with my complaint. Dominick Fuel is now been absorbed by HOP Energy, announced to us, legacy customers since 1998, in the second week of October, 2021. We had just paid our reconciliation invoice, sent to us at the end of September, in the first week in October. The following week, we received a statement from HOP / Dominick Fuel charging us with a late fee. Things only got worse after that and after the second heating oil delivery, having for the second time again failed to leave the delivery ticket, I felt I had to call and set things straight. The new system at HOP would no longer allow me to speak to any responsible person but rather took messages and promised return calls. None of the promised calls were returned. We finally realized that we could not continue with this new company and then spent the next two weeks severing our contracts. Too bad for them. read more

y that the air transfer chamber was cracked because if it was his hand would burn when the heater was turned on. He looked the heater over for a few minutes and told me that the other technician may have cracked a fuel line in the firing chamber when he changed a transformer that turned on the pilot light on. I was very happy that Carlos had fixed the issue, until three mouths later when I got a bill for a service call for $1000+. I called right away to see what that bill was about, and was told that I called for a no heat service call.... ya fifteen minutes the first service technician left. I have been calling to three or for people and they still can't under stand that my heating system was working fine, till I had the scheduled maintenance. I will not pay this bill, it is not right. I have never felt that I have been more ripped off like I feel with Dominic Fuel. read more

I can tell you that I would have given Dominick a 3-4 up until yesterday. Although I do recall when we began with the service, their tech was too busy watching a football game and wouldn't come and fix out heat and we shivered for many hours...he wasn't very pleasant however, I adored working with the owner's son Joe,Jr so I overlooked this. Well....renewing my contract this year..not so pleasant and in fact, I have canceled. Their sales manager was beyond rude, and in fact when I asked if Joe, Jr. could give me a call - he said no...that he was dealing with me. I sent a letter to Joe, Jr. and he (Kindly...as in really????) forwarded it to "Charlie" Here is what Charlie emailed me as a response to my private letter to Joe, Jr....(NICE) Dear Ms!! XXXX, Thanks so much for your classy note and your intelligent use of the word "DOUCHE" a word I'm sure your very familiar with. The word "defensive" is another word you have a problem with. What I told you is a "FACT". The first year is always an INTRODUCTORY YEAR and that is called a "FACT". I'm sorry about high oil prices but I can't do anything about that. I recently rented a home and after having electric heat for 20 or so years I am back to having oil heat. the landlord and previous tenants had used Dominick so I opened an account with them. getting the new account everyone was very nice, but when I started asking questions about price, incentives or discounts and trying to understand why they would charge my credit card a flat amount before they delivered oil and then would adjust it after. they were not so nice. it was very clear I was being a pain in the butt by asking to be educated a bit. so closed my account there and found a very nice person to talk to that gave me a great deal and who answered all of my questions happily . read more

In a day of social media it is imperative that service organizations give good customer service at all times. In this case I think that the service tech at Dominick's needs to be reminded of this. We lost heat tonight and my LL made a service call so that we could get it fixed. The Service Tech walked in complain before he even looked at the issue, it was as if he did not want to come and fix the heat, mind you it is 17 degrees. Mr Service Guy, this is the wrong business for you if you are going to be picky about doing service calls or where you want to answer a service call. As I write this, the heat is still not fixed. The best thing about this is my LL they are awesome so I know they will be having a chat the Dominic Management. Thx to Dwight who came back and stayed until the heat was fixed. We have done business with Dominick Fuel since the early 1990s. They deliver oil. They care for our heating and air conditioning systems. They come out in all weather to make repairs. They even came at 3:30 in the morning on Christmas Eve. They have never failed to meet a commitment. We think so well of them that we leave the door unlocked for them, if we are not going to be about. read more

First the only one zone was over heating and the valve for that zone was left open. The other zone was working fine before Dominick fuel came out. I tried it myself. The air conditioner company came out to service the A/C which is not in the basement where the furnace is located. I don't know why Dominick's technician would listen to the painter and not even look at the furnace before leaving. I'm sure it would have been very obvious to see the zone valve left open. Dominick fuel stated: When you called to tell us you were out of oil, our system disagreed. We wanted to send a technician back to scope the oil tank and oil lines to make sure there were no leaks and to determine if and why it was out of oil. You did not give us an opportunity too. I'm not sure how much time I spent on the phone, maybe 20 minutes (it seemed like a lot more) with two different people. Neither offered to send a technician out to scope the tank. They both just told me I had half a tank. I told them the float gauge on the tank showed it was empty. I told them I could knock on the tank and it is bone dry. Neither gentlemen offered to send anyone out. Just insisted I had half a tank. I called another company they delivered oil the next day while I was at work. When I got home started the furnace myself no problem. I spent way less time calling the other company, having the oil delivered, and starting the furnace than I did arguing with the folks from Dominick fuel who insisted I had oil when I didn't. Aside from their above average pricing, when I looked into replacing my boiler I called Dominick. They refused to put their proposal in writing. A giant red flag! As it turned out, their proposal was against code! It would have been illegal. I went with another company. Additionally, I was on their budget plan, X number of dollars a month for a year. By year end, I had over paid by about $750.00. But, instead of deducting a service charge from my $750 credit, they charged my credit card another $250.00. Keep away! read more

We had to call a friend to look at our furnace because they couldn't find the simple problem. Service contract is expensive and useless it does not cover anything. I was a customer for 1 1/2 years. I left for a better price on oil. I was charged $199 after I left for a service call made prior to my leaving that was covered under contract. I was told that it was the company policy to bill back any previously covered service calls if you leave before the expiration of the contract. I paid over $200 in advance for a 2 yr contract and am being billed an additional $199 for the only call for service in 1 1/2 years excepting the cleaning. read more

On a recent Sunday ( very cold Sunday) my heat suddenly stopped. Dominick answered the phone and responded quickly to my request for service. They provided a follow up call late that afternoon to see if everything was OK. The technician ( Chris) was outstanding and very patient explaning to me what had happened. I had signed up for heating/cooling service plan and gave my credit card information to charge. after six months they start calling me and sending me bills with all those charges which should have covered on the service plan and charged to my credit card. Not only that they added financial charges as well. When I inquired about the charges they told me they did not charge in my credit card I had given. I have no way to go back and check my transaction because I just had identity issue with my bank account and had to close entire account and get the new one. So I trusted them and started paying bill online as i get them. but it never stopped I was getting bills which did not make any sense to me and when I asked to breakdown the charges and explain to me the sales manager was SO RUDE over the phone. He was showing me the service charge which they did not even do..... waste of time and money, think before you sign up a service plan with them. read more

Do not do it. I have had nothing, but problems with Dominick fuel from the start. I was warned, not to use them, but went against my better judgment. As a i am a current customer for oil, I asked for an estimate to relocate a diffuser in the hallway. WIth out telling me anything, or warning me of a potential charge they sent me a bill for $80 - fee for estimtate. When they promised to service my radiators when I started a new service contract with them they sent a bill charging me for the cleaning. I would go with other reputable companies in the area and stay away from dominick fuel. It is just not worth all the hidden costs. read more

After researching a number of boiler companies we decided to move forward with Dominick's and we are very happy with our choice. The boiler install took a day and a half for installation and removal of the old one. The water was turned off for only a few hours or less which was great since other companies said we'd be without water for the entire duration of the install. So far so good with the new boiler. Looking forward to basking in the efficient heat this winter :-) read more
