The total price tag looked even better when I received a cash card from Costco. It was a good investment. My house is more comfortable now with my new efficient system. Fraudulent billing. Watch out for these fraudsters. I had Arctic over to look at a heating issue. Their tech was in my house for no more than 20 minutes. I received a bill for 1.5 hours. When I called them, their rude representative claimed their GPS said he was at my house for one hour and 27 minutes. Then she hung up on me. I then check my Ring doorbell camera and got the video evidence. I wrote the company and then got a call from a "manager" who claimed their rep didn't argue with me and they were fixing it. Watch out for these crooks. If they're willing to scam me on my first small bill, imagine what they'd do to you if you did a big project with them. CROOKS. Update: Subsequent to the original post, Jeffrey F from Arctic Mechanical wrote a reply to my post, inaccurately characterizing the events, but more importantly, listing my name and home address in his reply. This attempt to intimidate and chill my right to post about their business practices was appropriately taken down by Yelp. .As a member for many years, I found recent service unacceptable and overpriced. For the second year, I lost A/C during dangerous heat AFTER Artic Mechanical service adding refrigerant. This year I lost A/C after paying Arctic Mechanical to inspect and replenish proper refrigerant levels. Two weeks after Arctic Mechanical service, I lost A/C during dangerous heat. Failing to detect leakage BEFORE adding refrigerant is the service problem. Arctic solution is to now install a new A/C, after spending over $3,000 dollars on Arctic Mechanical service. In past, Artic quoted me a heat/hot water unit, and after accepting the quote installed a different brand. No explanation for this bait - and- switch maneuver. No longer quality service, little value, but unreliable response to emergency. Buyer beware. read more

We've been using them for the last several years. They have been up and down but lately it's been horrendous. Incompetent technicians would come out and not be able to completely fix problems then we would get billed several times for the same issue because they technically came out multiple times for the same issue (because the original tech was not able to solve it). When calling to contest this they have been very difficult and combative about the issue whereas in the past they have been more accommodating and understanding (which is why we stuck with them). So far so good. AM installed a new air handler and compressor last month in the midst of a heat wave. Doug Harrison was incredibly responsive and worked with me on pricing to win the business over a competitor. He communicated frequently and even at odd hours when needed, and his team did the work as scheduled. We had a small installation issue that turned out to be related to leveling the air handler. Arctic Mechanical sent the team back right away to address the issue and all has been great since. read more

I need not reply to Jeffrey below. My review stands and it is not fake. Sadly, Arctic's customer service is poor. They offer a relatively cheap service contract but do not be fooled: you will pay in the end. For example, the first time I had a service technician come to my house he immediately told me I needed new air handlers. I researched it and I decided to consider it. The quote they provided me was an excessive amount of money for an inferior system with a poor SEER rating. (I know this now because I received multiple quotes since and I finally found an honest HVAC company who provided me a quote for significantly less money for equipment with a very high SEER rating, the efficiency of which will save me even more thousands of dollars going forward.) As another example, if you research it, they do mark up the prices of the equipment they provide, so even if it seems you have a service contract and a member discount, you are not actually receiving a discount. (Although this is standard in the industry, my point is that the member discount is a sham.) Although I want to keep my lower cost membership contract with them for maintenance alone, I do not believe it is worth it even for the biannual maintenance because I always have to follow the service technicians when they are at my house anyway to make sure they take care of everything on my contract. (They do the bare minimum when I do not follow their every move.) It is very difficult to find the time to research to learn about all these aspects of HVAC units and pricing, but I am happy to have finally found a different company that does not push membership contracts but seems to be simply in the business of retaining customers through quality customer service and honest conversations that I am looking forward to working with in the future. Goodbye, Arctic! I am sure this review will be disputed, but perhaps you should focus on providing better customer service and higher quality equipment instead of arguing with every dissatisfied customer. read more

Brian of Arctic Mechanical saved us some money on the moving of our Furnace & water heater & gave us new ducts which saved us some space. After a few months, our Coleman AC unit failed, so Brian got us a deal an a Lennox AC(Costco) unit that fit our size Townhouse. They could accommodate to our schedule & to he needs of the HOA. Scheduling took 1 to 1.5 weeks, and the work to 1 to 1.5 days. They were very careful not to hit anything & they cleaned up after. All in all, a Great experience. Once upon a time the was an HVAC Company that serviced people honestly. One day, the big bad big headed wolf appeared and decided they would change their business model. They would no longer service your AC, unless you have a service plan, even if you purchased it from them. And oh, grandma, what a big website you have, so big that when you schedule an appointment you never get confirmation until the day before when you are informed that without a contact, you will not receive service, this, three weeks after scheduling the appointment. But, oh, little red riding hood on the phone says, "well we have a new system, you can't expect it to WORK". After moving into a new OLD house that needed an entirely new heating system and a brand new cooling system, I felt really overwhelmed. I sought estimates from many HVAC contractors who would repair and optimize the original system and also install a new Mitsubishi split-unit or heat-pump system floor by floor. While many spent a lot of time with me, few followed up with estimates or offered worthwhile solutions. By luck, I found Arctic, and from the get-go, I realized these guys were the best of the best. From Mark, the owner, to Craig, master technician, to Doug, an amazing plumber, and John and Al, and all the guys who worked so hard, I was impressed on a daily basis. They set up a complex and efficient system for a large, old house, working tirelessly six days a week for nearly a month. (And they were very neat!). A few issues have come up post-installation, and all have been addressed immediately. I now have a very powerful and efficient heating and cooling system, not to mention the original system is running extremely well. It is a pleasure to refer Arctic to anyone I know who is looking to fix, improve, or replace their HVAC system. I have already done so several times, and the feedback has been as enthusiastic as my own. I would not consider Arctic "cheap," but heating and a/c is important, and I think you get what you pay for. They were HONEST and CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL and got the job done in one day as they promised. Passed inspection and I was up and running. 1st they cancelled the same day of my service appt and said the technician had an emergency. Then when the technician came 2 days later, after 5 minutes he said I needed to replace the entire unit and he couldn't "charge" it bc they no longer made the refrigerant needed. Then when I told him I was having a party the next day, suddenly he was able to charge it. He claims he added 9lbs of refrigerant but at no point did the unit get cool. They still charged me $1200 (they take your credit card info when u schedule the appt so beware) even though the unit never got cool. I called and left messages repeatedly after the "installation" and no one EVER got back to me. I had to continuously call and send several emails before I finally received a call back 2 weeks later to basically tell me too bad, there's nothing we can do but give you a discount on installing a brand new unit. They are unprofessional and disrespectful and I would never hire them to install a new unit. Juan outright lied in front of his supervisor claiming he called me back several times, which he did not. Don't waste your time or $ with this company bc they have fraudulent deceptive practices. I am absolutely disputing these charges. read more

Back in April, we had Mitsubishi ductless units installed by Arctic Mechanical Heating and Cooling. As I sit in a very comfortable house when the outside temperature is extremely hot and humid, I am happy I used Arctic. There were a few glitches along the way but Arctic handled them seamlessly. When needed, the owner got involved and even gave me his personal cell. The service manager even came to make sure everything was running smoothly at the completion of the job. For me, the true test of any contractor is how they handle the issues and they were great. I had my house completely renovated. Everything was brand new from scratch for my heat and HVAC . A year after, I still called them because of issues. They kept telling me that I have to spend more money to get my system running well. I feel that they are taking advantage of me, not being knowledgeable about whatever they have put in my utility room. We decided to install ductless air in our home after using wall air conditioners for the last 25 years. We went with the Costco Lennox offering. We chose Arctic mechanical as the contractor for the installation. Turned out to be an excellent choice. They actually had two Crews on site Tuesday July 10th and finished up the job in 1 day. The men had to work until almost 7 p.m. at night to finish and really did an excellent job. These units are performing I would say better than expected as they are really quiet and cool excellently. We recently decided to replace our old gas boiler. We looked at multiple vendors and finally picked Arctic. Right from the start, you could tell Arctic really wanted our business. Brian Soukup (ask for him!) is a consummate professional -- very responsive over email or phone. Brian worked hard to get us a counter-offer and a deal we couldn't say no to. He made sure the date for installation was fit in quickly (it was November and getting cold, we didn't have heat in the house. Brian understood that.) The crew were great and hardworking too. On Day 1, they spent almost 12 hours installing the new boiler without complaint. At the end of a very long day, they were still positive and polite. They did have to come in on a second day to complete some wiring, but did it quickly and without disruption. They left only after making sure we were set up and cleaned up. These guys have consistently been good. At our condo previously our building had negotiated a deal with them to do servicing 2x/year and that's all we ever really needed since the building and AC units were new. We recently moved into a house in the area and have had them out twice so far. Both times they sent someone the same day (we originally called the company that serviced this house previously and they were going to have us wait almost a week until someone could come out when temps were in the 90s and our AC was out). Arctic Mechanical even went so far as to initiate troubleshooting over the phone with us on our first call. Initially they said they would repair it until the flooring experts they brought in said it will cost $4,500-$5,000 to fix it right.The have been unreasonable and refuse to pay for the repair when they realized how much it will cost. They prefer leave the burden on the consumer then to maintain the integrity of the firm. Unfortunately I am going to be involved in a lawsuit with this company. The owner refused to speak to me for the start of discussions and has his employees relay any messages through this whole process. Consumer affairs is now involved as well.
