Jennie, the Resident Services Manager, is consistently professional, responsive, and courteous. The worst place I have ever lived. You are better off living at one of the nearby competing apartment complexes. There has been mice in my unit, dogs constantly barking, and urine in the hallways from people not cleaning up after their dogs. There are a few tenants that smoke in their apartments instead of going outside, the elevator has been broken for over a month and you have to haul your groceries and other items up the stairs ( five flights). The stairwell smells like rotting garbage once a week because the trash room is directly in the stairwell that you have to use when the elevator breaks down once every two weeks. My boyfriend has had to help a disabled tenant down the stairs to the first floor due to lack of mobility and the apartment doesn't care about ADA compliances when it comes to the elevators or tenants with certain needs. ELEVATORS ARE A NECESSITY. There is also trash lined up in the hallways once a week due to lack of waste management as well. Also, the elevators have a keypad that is there for decoration only, you do not need a code for the elevator keypad. Anyone can come up to your floor if they do not live here and knock directly on your door because the garage you pay over $1000 a year for has a broken door. Anyone can come in without authorization and this is proven by the fact that someone's car got stolen last night (June 2024) due to Domain Brewers Hill's NEGLIGENCE. On top of that, the bike storage somehow gets vandalized very often. They do construction throughout the entire day with no breaks and the walls are thin so if you have anyone that works non 9-5 hours, your sleep will get disrupted at least once a month. The fire alarms are tested VERY often for hours on end and when it's not a test, it's going off at 2 am and everyone has to evacuate with pets. Management does not care and will not let anyone out of their lease even though they have RODENTS and are not compliant with ADA regulations . This is the opposite of luxury living and I literally feel like I'm being held hostage in this lease because they said I have to pay two months rent to buyout my lease because it's apparently not their problem that they have mice in the building. They have not given any consideration to anyones complaints and they only care about your rent clearing on the first. DO NOT MOVE HERE IT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED!! read more

The staff are as nice as they can be but there are many issues with this complex. The elevators are always don't or have an issue especially the one in the back. The package room is not secure and things get stolen all the time. The cleaning staff is great and work very diligently to keep the spade clean. On the other hand trash is a huge issue. There not enough space in the chutes to hold the garbage from residents and it causes a lot of over flow and people leave heaps of garbage bags in the stairwells causing a potential rodent/ pest issue. Since I lived here there as been 4 instances where the fire alarm goes off and one of those times it was caused by a water pipe being burst. Unfortunately for those residents they had to leave. The garage also never works so you have to go through the exit to get garage access. Response time is very slow. Neighbors are nice no issue. People are respectful of each other. Coffee machine is in lobby but it's byoc (bring your own cup) There is also security issues where the touch pad will go in and out and there is no warning to residents that this would happen (it being a routine maintenance vs malfunction is unknown) The front main door also had huge issues with locking at night causing concern for safety that anyone can just walk right in. The court yards are quaint and peaceful and kept well. Gym is small but I don't know how often it gets used. read more

Continuous maintenance issues that never get resolved. Fire code & safety violations. Building doesn't have back up generators so in case of a power outage (which happens often) even emergency stairwells and common hallways are pitch black. Power outage left the doors insecure and a bunch of cars got broken into. No notice was sent out to residents about the break ins and we had to find out about it on a neighborhood Facebook page. Lower level of parking garage floods so don't park there unless you want to wade through water on a rainstorm. Elevators and one garage gate have been down majority of the month. read more

We were sad to leave when we finally had to move out after living at Domain for years. Over that time, there were some great staff members and some staff that were just "okay". There current staff (Katie, Kim, Wayne, Angel, Aaron) are the best of our time there, they are awesome! We read some reviews prior to moving in, and the reviews were spot on. I appreciate silence when I sleep. So we lived on the 5th floor and faced the courtyard. That is where you should go for silence. When we left, we had to move suddenly, after we had just signed our lease renewal. It was handled professionally, with hands on attention.. The staff found someone to rent our apartment the date we needed to move out, and that was that. No extra charges. The staff is attentive to the maintenance aspect of the building. It was nice have them come promptly to replace our fridge, when it decided to stop cooling one weekend. There are occasional issues with the elevator and the garage door, but they are looked into promptly. The gym is clean and not too busy. Move out was smooth. All the drilled holes to mount the TV and anchor the shelves were less than quarter size, so no charges. $250 Domain sponsored cleaning is worth it. We would live there again. read more

Took a tour recently and the leasing agent was so rude. I asked about any move in specials and he basically said it didnt matter if I rented from them or not. My money didnt matter to him since they are in such high demand. He also said: "i am not even going to try to sell you on the place". Also, this place REQUIRES you to pay for a parking spot even if you do not have a car. It also has such a cold and corporate feel. I felt like I was walking into a board room & not a home. read more

This is my favorite place apartment building that I've lived in since I've moved to the east coast. Katie the manager is attentive and very friendly and always ready to help. She is by far the best I have experienced in my years living in apartments. Wayne the maintenance manager is awesome as well, he is super friendly and is easy to get a hold of for help. The building itself is well kept up and I haven't had any issues with anything. The location is really convenient and close to everything that I needed. I will miss living here and wish I wasn't relocating! I honestly have nothing bad to say about the building except i wish the gym was bigger. read more

To whom ever this may concern, I wanted to wait several months before I wrote my review. My main reasons were that I wanted to get over the honeymoon phase and give an open and honest review. With that out of the way, I am still in love with this place. The main reasons are details related to location, proximity, security, aesthetics, convenience, and staffing. Location: It's really close to everything. From Domain Brewer's Hill, you can literally get to I-95 and 895 within 5 minutes. It's also in between O'Donnell and Boston so not right on the street where it could be busy turning in and out- but nested right in between. The closest hospital is Johns Hopkins but you can also get to Johns Hopkins Bayview with University of Maryland and Mercy close by as well. The fire department and BCPD is also close by. There are two gas stations and even a third if you count Costco that is right next to the interstate just minutes from the complex. Proximity: Nearly everything you can need is within walking distance from Domain. If you're hungry, you can walk adjacently to Panera, Dunkin, Five Guys, Atwaters, Iron Rooster, etc within minutes. Close by, there is also a Costco, Target, Harris Teeter with Safeway down the street. Although there is a gym within the complex, you can also walk to Merritt which is next to the Canton shopping center containing Target and Harris Teeter. Since it is so close to Canton, you can walk to the square or Canton Waterfront. This is great because during the summer, First Thursdays are held at the waterfront and you can catch music and food along with various festivals and venues on different days. You don't have to go crazy trying to find parking because, Domain has parking inside and you can just take a short walk to the attractions. Fells Point isn't that far from here either. Security: Although the complex doesn't have its own security team, I find it to be a safe place to live. Before I moved here, I was concerned about my vehicles because the first thing I was told was not to keep anything in my vehicle and that my motorcycle would probably get stolen. Domain Brewer's Hill residents have remote garage door entry along with key fob entry into the building and all the floors. For now, my motorcycle has been safely parked within the garage along with my other vehicle. Mail and packages are also safe here because it's within the complex itself. Aesthetics: It's beautiful! It's always clean and smells pretty good. The units themselves look pretty good and depending on which one you pick, matching colors and decoration styles aren't really an issue. Additionally depending on the unit, your deck/view either looks out into Canton or into a private courtyard (which is what ended up selecting). Convenience: Although location and proximity has a lot to do with this, the complex itself has many things to offer. As previously stated, there is a gym within the complex on the first floor that contains a TV and all the necessary workout equipment one would need. The only thing I wish it had was a striking bag but I understand that it may be too noisy for the rest of the tenants. There are also computers and printers on the first floor that all tenants have access to with a self-serve coffee/tea bar next to it. Right by the computers is a sitting area with a fireplace. If you need a quiet place outside your unit, there is also meeting room where you can study or hold meetings. Entertaining guests is also pretty convenient because the tenant-only courtyard contains an outdoor gas fireplace, tables, chairs, and a gas grill. In the spirit of convenience, each floor has its own trash chute and there is a recycling room within the garage. Although I should have mentioned it in the proximity section, there is also a dog park that is within minutes from the complex if you don't feel like walking to the waterfront. The complex is pet-friendly and there are even waste bags by the garage door/side door entrance and doggy treats by the concierge desk. Staffing: The staff members are amazing, I mostly deal with Katie, Brianna, Anthony, Beverly, Wayne, Shannon, and special mention to Angel. They are absolutely engaged and invested in making sure everyone is happy. Every question I have thrown at them have been met positively and answered expeditiously. They are sincerely interested in how to make things better and take notes so they can follow up with later. Additionally, they frequently send out emails to make sure that the tenants are always informed. Randomly, there are special get-togethers such as movie night, wine night, BBQ, Chili etc. where tenants can meet each other and entertain guests. My review ends here. For the past 4 years I have lived at the Domain, and I absolutely loved my time there. I was always greeted with a warm smile and hearty hello. Over the years the staff became my family and it couldn't have happened a better time in my life. For anyone that reads this and is considering a move to the Domain, DO NOT WAIT ANOTHER SECOND!! The entire staff is as great the the Domain looks and it will fit into your life perfectly. I feel its important for anyone who reads this to understand how simple it is to be over critical and/or write bad reviews, but I feel its just as important for my voice to be heard when something goes unexpectedly amazing, and the Domain is amazing!! If it wasn't for the relocation of my career and unless something drastically changed in my life, I could have easily continued my stay there for many many more years to come.. I left the Domain with a heavy heart but I will always hold my time there close to my heart.. I hope this helps in your Apartment search... its just my humble opinion. JVM read more

Lived there for 3 years. Great building, friendly staff, and great location. Sometimes, the areas where the garbage chute is smelled, but I didnt have an apartment on that side, so was not a big deal to me. I would definitely recommend living here, however, the headache of getting your security deposit back is not worth it with other luxury apartments in the area that are probably just as nice. In the lease it states that the carpet needs to be professionally cleaned, in the end that is where you security deposit goes. A bit dishonest, if you ask me, as this is not a true security deposit and when speaking to the staff multiple times about moving out, they never once mentioned this as I probably would have had this done myself if they had. Overall, a great place, however, it is indeed pricey, and the deceitfulness about the security deposit rubbed me the wrong way. read more

We had a wonderful experience at this plush facility beginning last Summer. Our need for a place near Johns Hopkins came up on short notice. The staff (Kimberly, Katie, Sam) were responsive and accommodating even during a holiday weekend. Move in was as easy as we could expect. Our apartment was wonderful including the view. There was a little wear on the floor and stove but it was super clean and freshly painted. Security in this place is very good. We loved the location too, as it is near a wide range of stores (e.g. Target, groceries and many restaurants). The workout room met our needs. Maintenance was knowledgeable and responsive. We enjoyed the friendliness of the atmosphere and several meet and greet social events. We also thought the rates were reasonable compared to others we toured in the area. Our favorite amenity was the coffee, tea hot chocolate machine. Move out was even smoother than move in. Without reservation we would return and recommend this place to our friends. read more

While this complex has lovely apartments, there are unfortunately many hidden fees. As someone who has lived in many different apartment communities, this is the only community that required us to submit a receipt from a professional cleaning company prior to move out. Conveniently, you may choose to go with a cleaning service offered by the community for a *small* fee of 300.00. This is what we chose in the interest of time. While that in itself seemed excessive, we came to find out that we were going to be charged for 2 shower pans 150.00 each. When inquiring about why this was necessary, as there was no visual damage to the shower pans...we were told that the cleaning service "had to clean mold". I'm not sure what we were paying for then? Also, it came to our attention that residents are charged for each maintenance request. One would hope that with rent that ranges from 2000-3500/mo in a community that offers dry cleaning, that residents wouldn't have to pay $4.00 for a single light bulb to be changed. Mind you, I didn't enter an apartment with brand new lightbulbs so I don't appreciate paying a ridiculous upcharge for a half-used lightbulb. We contacted the community several times to dispute this matter. No one from the leasing office returned our calls (we were only filtered to a corporate billing department), but of course the emails requesting payment for the repairs persisted throughout our efforts to dispute the charges with the actual community. There are plenty of other beautiful communities in the canton. My advice- go elsewhere. Or if not, at least get ready to do your own maintenance on the apartment. And once you're no longer a resident, don't expect anyone to return your calls... read more

We lived in Brewers Hill until recently. They did have some maintenance issues in the recent months, but the communication and attempts by maintenance and property management did the best they could with several unfortunate situations. I understand having to contract out and depend on others to fix things out of control. I loved the location, it was always convenient to my life. Any issues I had which were minimum at worst management promptly responded. I would highly recommend moving here, as staff is friendly, my neighbors were the best and respectful, and you won't regret the location! read more

We loved the location and friendly concierge. That's where the good review ends. They will suck money out of you any way possible. Our lease ended after six months and we decided to stay for another month due to the house not being finished yet. They said we have to pay $4,000 for one month, immediately, the next day. They threatened to take us to court in an email even if we don't pay in time. There was no negotiating. Emails from management are extremely unprofessional with grammatical errors. Fire alarms went off 5 times in the middle of the night in just one month of January. There were always emails threatening to collect money. You have to pay $6 for a lightbulb if one goes out. You also have to have the apartment professionally cleaned for $300 using their company. I could live in NYC or Miami and not Canton for what they're charging. You better off going to Gunther apartments across the street!!! Or ANYWHERE for that matter. read more

I recently moved out of this property after living there for 4.5 years and realized what a dirty operation is being run. The on-site staff I think are great for the most part, and day-to-day living at Domain was fine. However, the business side of UDR I found to be quite lacking. Due to unemployment, I vacated my apartment - which required giving 60 days notice (i.e. paying rent for 2 more months) and also paying a lease break fee of 2 months rent (about $4,000 for me) within 24 hours of giving my notice of intent to vacate. These terms were given in my lease, and I was perfectly well aware of them. Given the situation though, I would have expected some level of understanding from UDR and the ability to work with me financially. I requested a few months delay to pay the lease break fee, but the best they would give me was paying the amount in 2 equal parts - both due before my move-out date. After having paid over $100,000 in rent over the course of 4.5 years, and being a very good tenant, I would have expected better treatment. I guess the larger the business the more out of control the greed becomes. read more

Living at Domain the past 7 years has been a wonderful experience. I've never had any issues with the building or amenities. The amazing staff has always been very professional and friendly. The neighborhood is lovely with lots of restaurants, pubs and convenient shopping. Maintenance request were always addressed promptly with followed up ensuring my satisfaction. I love Domain! Katie and Anthony in the leasing office are exceptional. The leasing staff is consistent and doesn't have high turn over like a lot of complexes. The concierge staff is helpful and pleasant. Ms. Beverly often bakes and cooks delicious treats for the residents. The maintenance staff is friendly and prompt. The apartments are of great, sound construction, and the complex is well kept and updated. Management is very responsive to any issues that arise and communicates very well with the residents on an almost daily basis. They also host wine and food events often. Great location, the garage is a plus, the gym is a little small but adequate, and the hallways actually feel homey. My only "complaint" if you can even call it that, is that I wish the package service was free instead of $5 a month; other complexes in the area don't require the residents to pay for theirs. With that said, I love living here and am happy to call the Domain home! read more

Much better apartment communities close to this property. I chose this location at the last minute because it was the only place with availability. Now I understand why.
