Absolutely DO NOT BOOK ANY TRAVEL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I was recently on a trip to Bali, Indonesia (a trip of a lifetime for most people). When we arrived in Bali, we found out that our hotel had not been paid for. Not only was this a huge shock, but as the tour leader, my clients were confused as to why they had been paid-in-full for months, and the hotel was saying that we might not be able to stay. We had traveled from the other side of the world (CA) to go on this trip. Eventually, the gentleman at the hotel allowed us to check in and took us to our rooms. We left a personal credit card on file as an insurance policy for the resort. This was almost 2 months ago now. The resort still hasn't been paid $5,000, and many of my clients expressed that they found it very difficult to relax and enjoy their stay when they knew that at any moment we could be removed from the resort. Right now, we are trying to get our funds returned to us for our trip to cuba (5/25/18-6/5/2018) in which mary jane only booked our flights to havana and then paid nothing else!! we were stuck in the hotel with no rooms paid for, no excursions paid for, no transfers paid for, and no flights home- what a nightmare!! Additionally- we paid her a year ago for a trip to fiji which we postponed due to a cancer diagnosis. now that it's time to get serious on this trip, she will not return my emails, will not answer the phone, and will not return my calls (voice mailbox is full). i have filed a complaint with the california department of justice, and now have to go through all the other hoops to try and recover our funds. ron c. portland, or read more

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS TRAVEL COMPANY! I was one of 14 people on an Australia and Fiji trip October 2016. DOLPHIN DESTINY DID NOT PAY FOR FLIGHTS AND HOTELS BEFORE THE TRIP. Everyone paid the full trip price 2 months in advance. However, throughout the trip trip group members were told that they did not have tickets for parts of the trip and had to pay again. Members who paid for singles ended up sharing an apartment and a single bathroom with other people. DOLPHIN DESTINY CHARGED OUR CREDIT CARDS WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE OR AUTHORIZATION DURING THE TRIP. Additionally, Dolphin used our credit cards (used to book the trip) without our knowledge or authorization to pay airline companies for who knows what. We discovered charges we had no knowledge about on our cards. Some of our members did not have tickets to return from Fiji. Those of us who caught the overcharges during the trip and cancelled our credit cards were limited to only the overcharges up to that point. Those who did not have other credit cards with them and did not cancel them faced additional charges before they finally did upon their return. One member had unauthorized charges of over $15,000, another over $7,000, etc. DOLPHIN DESTINY PROMISED 4 STAR HOTELS, DID NOT DELIVER. Hotels had not been paid for before and some even after we stayed there. The top rate hotels promised were never more than 4 star (only 1). In one case in Cairns the motel was so bad that 11 our of 14 of us refused to stay there and ended up having to find an alternative and pay out of pocket for it at the last minute. In Tasmania some of our members were in cabins and had bunk beds to sleep on. In Fiji she cancelled 3 of the rooms and we arrived to find that for 14 of us we had rooms that could hold only 8 of us (that of course does not even include the singles rooms some members had paid for). The original booking was for all of the tour group and she cancelled 3 rooms a couple of days before we arrived. EXCURSIONS AND MEALS WE PAID FOR WERE NOT PROVIDED. Numerous features of the trip that were to be included were not. DOLPHIN DESTINY REFUSED TO REIMBURSE US FOR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES. Our group incurred over $30,000 in charges that were duplications or unauthorized on top of what we already paid in full for the trip. Mary Jane Augustine refused to reimburse any of us when we requested it directly from her. TOUR GROUP MEMBERS LOST TIME, MONEY AND ENERGY TRYING TO RECOVER UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES AND DUPLICATIONS FROM CREDIT CARD BANKS. Each of us had to deal with the banks that issued our credit cards to explain what happened and request charge reversals. Our success varied. Some banks were better than others in helping us out. Most of the overcharges could not be recovered from the banks. So, we as a group submitted our data to the District Attorney's Office in Marin County, California and they took up our cause and through mediation we finally got paid back months later. Those of us who caught the overcharges during the trip and cancelled our credit cards were limited to only the overcharges up to that point. Those who did not have other credit cards with them and did not cancel them faced additional charges before they finally did upon their return. One member had unauthorized charges of over $15,000, another over $7,000, etc. DOLPHIN DESTINY STRANDED US DURING TRIP. Mary Jane Augustine, head of the company accompanied us part of the trip with her boyfriend. However, she left the group in the middle of the trip and returned to California presumably for medical reasons. She left one member with the responsibility to manage the rest of the trip without providing any information in terms of flight reservation numbers, transfer arrangements, was unavailable when called from the trip. Had we not organized ourselves and requested the help of the District Attorney's office we would not have seen any of our money back. TRAVEL WITH DOLPHIN DESTINY AT YOUR OWN RISK. The trip was a nightmare. And afterwards, she never admitted to us that she intentionally used our credit cards without our authorization, did not book the flights as promised that we paid for and soooooo much more. As we discovered we are not the only group that has had to deal with this. We have discovered that other travel companies she does business with have not been paid by her. If the price of the promised trip seems too good to be true, IT IS. Be forewarned. read more

Our flights were not confirmed, some tours were not provided, one of the hotel was so bad that we booked ourselves in another hotel. I will definitely not recommend this outfit to anyone. I confess I am normally not a user of either Yelp Reviews or Trip Advisor but I feel a warning must go out to all individuals considering doing business with Dolphin Destiny Adventures Travels. I am more convince now after seeing the various negative reviews about the travel company. I have never meet nor communicated prior to this moment with reviewers Liz T.; Erica O.; Desiree C.; Thelma R. just to list a few. My first trip organized by Mary Jane was to Thailand. What a disaster. Airline issues, Hotels issues, Transport Issues, Pickup Issues, and Tours sites listed on Itinerary which did not occurred. Ensample the itinerary stated "You will visit the White Temple, discover local culture at Long Neck Village and visit the Golden Triangle where Burma, Laos, and Thailand meet". Well, we only visited the White Temple. When I questioned the English speaking guide, he replied only tour to White Temple and transportation to your next hotel was paid for, sorry please contact your travel agent. 2nd sample was that we traveled specifically to Phi Phi Island just so we may scuba dive the local area. The hotel was set into a cliff, we were near the very top. A very difficult and steep path to travel to the main office with scuba gear in hand to discover Oops, Dolphin Destiny forgot to make the payment to the dive shop whom was listed on picking us up. We spend nearly 90 minutes waiting just to surrender to the fact no one was coming for us, so we hike the path once again. I will note here she did refunded the alleged cost of the diving BUT what of my loss time and inconvenience. I got the refund credit 05/16/18, a month afterwards. In Koh Lanta Island, the Palm Beach Divers, seem a bit edgy doing business with Dolphin Destiny Adventures. So much so they required me to pay the full amount of the dive package prior to diving. They claimed promises of payment made by the Travel agent never did make payment. For this reason the owner stated, "in this way everyone happy... you paid, you dive." In this specific case she refunded me the funds on May 10th three weeks after my return. Again my inconvenience in Thailand plus waiting three weeks unnecessary waiting for my money. My final payment was as completed over two weeks before the due date 12/22/17. The payment posted to my credit card 12/05/17. My final payment for Thailand alone was in the amount of $7550.00. I believe you would agree that it is the job of the travel agent to have all the details taken care in advance to your arrival. THE SECOND but surely the last trip organized by Dolphin Destiny Adventure Travel was to Bali, Indonesia. My travel plans were to occur 05/26/18 -- 06/12/18. I will avoid taking more of your precious time to read the tragic story details nor its ending with a disaster finish. Until today, 26 May 2018, we have not received the entire payment from Dolphin Destiny for your booking. Since weeks I am trying to contact Mary Jane from Dolphin Destiny, despite her promise on May 16th 2018 to pay the invoice, it has not been paid and I have not heard since. Upon arrival in the Kubu Indah Resort you have to pay the remaining amount of EURO 2.696 ($3173.24 USD) Total outstanding amount has to be paid at check in. Also please advised that due to wrong booking dates provided by Dolphin Destiny you have to change the Villa on June 2, 2018.
