Really neat store, but there is a lot to look at, so you need to be prepared with a lot of time to see everything. Not all of it will be great finds. Prices are quite high too, especially on the clothing and boots. read more

A friend had read about this place being recommend by Vogue, I was game. Meh, There are better antique malls to shop at. It is cool that you can still see the outline of the "piggly Wiggly sign on the outside of the building. There is no bathroom (they sent me across the street. I will say that if you are looking for a pair of vintage cowboy boots, this might be a place to check out. read more

Hadn't been in here in years and we stopped by this past wkend. Store is very full! They have vintage clothing on one side and antiques on the other. A lot to look at. prices seemed a bit high on some items (things i normally purchase elsewhere) but i managed to find few things. :) They are used to people paying via debit/credit since they didn't have change when i used cash. luckily, had exact amount. read more

This place was cool to look around, but there was soo much stuff that it was hard to see everything unless you spent a long time looking around. I saw mostly junk for the every day person. Definitely curated for people looking for specific items or people who collect certain things. It definitely smells like a vintage store (cobwebs and dust bunnies). My allergies ended up acting up pretty quickly, so I wasn't able to stay for very long. Wish I could've stayed longer just to see, but I don't think I would bother stopping by again if I was ever in the area again. read more

Multiple issues with this place. The first being that a lot of their stuff is not antique, vintage or original. Just mass produced garbage that they let gather dust so it looks the part. The second being that when I was waiting for someone to show me jewelry so I could take a closer look, they kept saying "we will be right with you" but then proceeded to help 3 other sets of customers walking up after me. Horrible customer service. Definitely not feeling like I missed out on the jewelry though seeing as how I've seen that mass produced other places as well. read more

Hello Dolly! This place is the weirdest of the Big D- this is where all the strangest and most unique items come to have another life. The collection here seems to be curated by a bunch of junk hunters, who also buy weird stuff as well. You can't really show up at Dolly Python saying that you need something. You just have to allow the items to find you. I never would've known that I needed that black velvet clown painting, or the JFK porcelain lamp that I'm sure won't make it out of Dallas alive. This junk and antiques store has so much strange stuff- at every corner, every little booth, there's a bunch of weird, weird stuff. The staff was super helpful making sure that they'd help me if I needed to check out that eyeball ring in the case, or if I needed help getting that half canoe out the door. They also sell clothing! Make sure you see their cowboy (and cowgirl) boot section- it'll knock your socks off! (Please leave your socks on while trying on the boots.) If you're a country or western DJ, this place is a one stop shop for all your hick-hop needs. Turns out, they even have a 2nd store in Dallas in the Bishop Arts District. I stopped by this location after finding some gems at the Dolly on Bishop location. I was on the hunt for some vintage fur pieces, and I did not leave disappointed. If you are a vintage fur collector, this place is a must to visit regularly. They get in quality pieces, and prices are decent (market). It's hard to buy vintage pieces online, I like to touch and inspect before purchases. This location has heavier coats and more expensive pieces than the Dolly on Bishop location, which has half jackets, stoles, and wraps. I was able to find mink, fox, chinchilla, ostrich, and other random pieces. I will say it is very overwhelming when you walk in. It took me a bit to get my bearings, there is just so much stuff. I have found the employees here are super helpful and will direct you towards a section or pieces you are looking for. Will be back! read more

I would say this is a great vintage shop especially with regards to clothing however it's very pricey. A simple shirt is at least $50 where more elaborate items are several hundred they also have a great selection of boots but nothing under $100. It's definitely not as large as I thought it would be from other pictures. I would say you could easily walk through it in under an hour. read more

This is a great spot to stumble into. My daughter and I were downtown thrifting when we saw this shop and decided to pop in for a visit. This place was not what I expected! It was this super cool store that is drown in old goodies. There are TONS of clothes and jewelry displayed everywhere. So much so I felt eyes following me around. Still, as soon as I walked in I heard a voice welcome me in. If I had more time and one less 6-year-old with me I would have stopped to look at EVERYTHING! For me though the best part of the store was the "Mens'" side. It is way less cluttered and more pristine. Everything in this area of the store was perfectly placed without being overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I'll be back, with time and cash. I just wish someone would Konmari the main part of the store because it felt very overwhelming! So you're in Dallas and got some time to kill? Like odd antiques and vintage clothes? If so then Dolly Python is right up your alley. Let me get get this out first. The parking situation sucks big time. So be prepared to have to park a little bit down the street and then Walk to the shop. Once your in the store you're instantly taken back in time with the fashion choices. Vintage clothing is not really my thing but my wife says the prices were a little high but that could just be we are from Oklahoma and not used to that big D pricing. I took time to stroll from booth to booth. I believe this is one of the co-op antique shops. Lots of neat vintage items and some newer things as well. There were quite a few reproduction one sheets for classic horror movie for 15 bucks a piece. I seriously thought about those but having the room to put them up is in serious dire need at my house. I ended up buying a vintage copy of a newspaper that was covering Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey for 15 bucks. A very satisfying purchase. For all the vintage shops, junk stores and antique malls I have haunted in my brief time on this earth, I have never been to a place like Dolly Python. One half is FULL of vintage clothes (which is cool, though being 5'9" I tend to ignore most vintage, as people were apparently just smaller in the past so things that fit tend to be way too short on me), and the other half is divided into vendor booths full of oddities from the past. Turn here and you're face to face with dead-eyed mannequins; spin around and you're looking at a tableau of taxidermied mice in various attitudes and activities (made me think of the movie "Dinner for Schmucks"). And everything in between. Take your time strolling as mournful old-school country music twangs over the sound system; squint into the back corners of booths to see what strange bits and pieces are tucked under that slanted shelf. There is a huge case of vintage jewelry to ogle; that alone could take an hour if you really got picky about it. Even in the middle of a week day there were a handful of people roaming the aisles in here. Prices were more reasonable than I would have expected for such unusual items. Overall, this is rather like Uncommon Objects in Austin, but the prominent clothing section broadens its appeal. If you're in Dallas and have an interest in oddities, say "Hello, Dolly!" read more
