This place is fine if you don't have many options, as there aren't much in Daly City. The parking and location is a struggle. They can't really do custom lashes so you can really only pick length and style. The staff is friendly/sometimes hard to understand, however the prices I believe are fair, and they are fast at fills (less then 30 mins) you have to give a deposit up front. Worst 200$ i have ever spent. Unfortunately, I had a very uncomfortable and painful experience. During the session, I felt adhesive getting into my eyes, causing intense burning and watering. I could feel the adhesive on my skin because she was using so much, i even felt it on the skin under my eyes along my lower lash line. It was an hour and half of intense painful burning. Aterward, my lids were actually sticking together due to the excessive glue, and my eyes are still very red and irritated. Additionally, the lashes don't resemble the style I was shown or requested during the consultation. I even showed a picture of the look i wanted and they looked nothing like that. I asked for a longer lashes in the middle and shorter on the sides, but the lengths are all the same and very uneven. Some extensions were even placed so far in the outer corner that they stuck to my lower lash line. When I tried to remove one, it pulled out one of my natural lashes and caused more pain. I had to remove it though because it was so unsightly and would stick to my lower lashes. Given the poor quality of the application and the severe discomfort I've experienced, I'm requesting a full refund. I never received one so now im trying to have my credit card company help me. Lash extensions should never burn your eyes or be applied with so much glue that your eyelids stick shut. read more

This place is so cute!! Front staff was incredibly welcoming and sweet upon arrival. They have a new customer sheet you have to fill in when you get there. They have sample lashes of length and curl that compliment your eye shape and natural tendency of your lashes. My session was for full volume cat eye and I showed them a reference picture, and it came out perfect. Appointment was under 2 hours which is unheard of for volume in my opinion. It looks like they do use a lot of fanned lashes so I'll be curious on the duration they last. read more

I recently moved to the Bay Area from Los Angeles and I was looking for a new lash place. I'll start by saying I'm particular about my lashes. My previous lash lady was extremely good. I stuck with her for four years before moving here. To give you an idea of how good she was, she used surgical/dental loupes to place extensions on my lashes and they would last 4-6 weeks. So when you find a good lash artist, it's hard to move on. I searched Yelp and tried Dolly Effect because it had multiple 5 start reviews. It may be acceptable for others, but it just didn't meet my standard. I went to two appointments. I will say they are more affordable than other salons. The lash technicians are gentle and the appointments are actually fast and comfortable. What I do not like is that they do not lash all the lashes they can. They just do enough until it looks nice. That's why the appointments are quick. I didn't mind it because I figured, the appointment was very affordable (even though it's venmo only). I gave it another try because even though they were not as good as my old technician, it was affordable and they were not spectacular or horrible. They looked good the first week and then okay-ish until you went for a fill. I had a normal amount of lash fallout but the twisting etc bothered me. The second time around is when I decided to quit. It looked okay initially but I notified the lash technician kept brushing my left eyelashes. I didn't think much of it until 7 days later. I noticed my eyelashes looked unusual but I couldn't figure it out because I've never had bad extensions before. It didn't look good but I figured I'd wait it out since my next fill was in two weeks. By the middle of the second week, it started really bothering me at work...I work in surgery so when your extensions are poking you in the eye as you are trying to work, naturally, you would be a bit upset. My extensions didn't look good and they were hurting me. The positive I will say is that Dolly Lash is very easy to contact. I texted them and they responded the next day during normal business hours and they were very professional in their response. I appreciate that. And they gave me my deposit back right away. In the end, I decided to just go elsewhere at another lash extensions location in Oakland that I feel meets my standard better although much more expensive. It's worth it to me as someone who loves lash extensions. 4 years later (almost 5), this is still my go-to lash extension place!! I have seriously never gone elsewhere and I will be staying loyal to Dolly Effect! They have been doing my extensions for day-to-day wear, special events, vacations, you name it! I've gotten natural lashes and also volume with more curl lashes and every time I am never disappointed! I came back recently after taking a long break due to COVID (and they weren't open) and the quality of work and service is still the same! I used to always stick with one lash tech but I had someone else help me this time around and it was just as perfect! Literally I've had a set on for 2 months and some of the lashes still won't fall off Lashes: I've tried both the mixed set and the volume set (with really long lashes lol) and I've loved them both. For me personally, the volume set was great but I felt like it looked out of place unless I wore makeup everyday so if you don't want to put on makeup everyday, maybe go for the mixed or natural set! Writing this review after my appointment yesterday! I've been a loyal customer of Dolly Effect for almost 2 years and I can attest to the quality of service and care they give you. Nancy is extremely patient and responsive, and is always super helpful for any appointment needs. I went in yesterday to get a fill for my grad photos and it came out heavier than what I was expecting last time (I showed a reference photo the first time but not this time). Any other time I would've been totally fine with them but since I was preparing for grad photos, I was a bit more picky and particular about them. I texted them and they were able to slot me in 5 minutes later and I got some removed to fit the style I wanted. I hate inconveniencing others, but the staff were so nice and understanding and were able to get the job done quickly. I found Dolly Effect through Yelp. They were great to work with and booked my first appt efficiently. Nancy was very friendly and helped me choose the right lashes etc. I did request for sensitive glue and she said I wouldn't need it since I didn't really have issues with eyelash extensions from my first experience (over 10 years ago). I wish I did push for the sensitive glue because I had a ton of issues when I had them on. My eyes were REALLY DRY during my entire trip and when I returned home from my trip I called them to get them removed as soon as possible. They charge around $39 for removal. Pricey if you ask me. They are super helpful but eyelash extensions just aren't for me and I wish I pushed for the sensitive glue but Nancy steered me away from them. Probably won't return again but their service is great and they are very efficient in what they do. read more

I've been working with Dolly Effect for over a year now, I can't recommend them enough! I love my lashes every time, every lash tech always nails it. I wish they were a bit closer to me, but their two locations are close enough to each other to offer a wider variety of availabilities if one studio is booked up.
