I've known about this place a long time, partly cause I cross paths with it driving by to my favorite Chinese establishment blowing through Hazelbridge Way in my car, and then came the weekend where my dear sweetie was helping out with a wedding and had to buy glowsticks (yeah... think rave party!) for a wedding. She called ahead and they told her they had them here. Any plaza in Richmond is what I call an accident waiting to happen, this one is a little better, but just to be careful when you park here, as you don't know who is coming or going out of this place. When you enter this place, it's kind of like a factory outlet type store, it's big, it has two floors, and there is a ton of stuff. Where to begin, well what are you looking for, stickers for the kids, a singing garbage can, some light fixtures, some towels to wipe the food your about to spill at home, some toys for the kids who have not learned about the iPad you have so miraculously hidden from them (wow, you are good!), fried Filipino chicken skins (I kid you not, I took a picture and had to send it to my cousin to verify!), some weird gadget or a cheap chair to park at the corner for that party you are about to throw for the night. This place is definitely on my scale of weird, and some things aren't that cheap (didn't this place call itself a dollar store?), well you get what you pay for, and if you want to find some things different, by all means come here. Tons of party favors here, from balloons to those infamous glow sticks (that we found). The staff here is nice, they answer the phone and tell you what they got. I didn't get a chance to walk around much but will report my findings the next time I'm in here again!

See other reviews for pictures…read more Quality/Quantity - Came here two days straight. The first day was on the way to our friend's place and we got to Canada early and had time to kill. But then my wife (and I) started shopping and ran out of time, lol. The second day was to only visit The Harry Rosen store, an upscale men's store which was referred to us. Ambiance - A good size location. An outdoor outlet mall. 82+ businesses. Plenty of parking. Service - Good, I did more shopping than I typically do. But I wanted to support local. Price - US $$ is strong on this trip, so inexpensive. $1 = 1.40 CAD. But it also depends on what you do, buy, eat, or drink. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1993 and with your 21 locations in Canada and Europe (8 countries).

Some of my recent purchases included Joico Conditioner, a Free People Dress, Converse High Tops for my husband (in a hard to find size 13) Make-up by Kat Von D, Marc Jacobs, Clinique, Anastasia Beverly Hills ect. They also had some great stemless Wine Glasses I had to have. Staff is friendly. Check out is quick and easy. They have a great return policy ( keep your tags & receipt for best results ) & scan your TJX card to extend the return policy from 10 days to 30. Also I highly suggest purchasing a recycle bag at the check outs for 1.99$. They are big and come in handy for any shopping trip.

One of them was doing the preparations for the food ordered and washed whatever was in the sink while the other one just stood there. Other than the slow service, the crepe was not bad, although once upon a time I recall there was more filling inside the crepe.

Being here, helping her look through a needle in a haystack... usually we come up empty handed, believe me when I say.. not all HomeSense stores carry the same goods.. this one is no different. Just know at these places, if your looking to furnish your home on a budget, you'll get away with some good prices, all it takes is some work on looking around on what you really like. If you need extra big pillows for the couch, some extra chairs, weird candle type holders, big decorative vases, etc... stop by here first before you like to go pay the 'fool's' price on those type of items. Last time we were here, we purchased some pretty cake stands, and if you need a comparison on prices and are weary... just remember there's a Home Outfitters just a walk away to see what you would really be paying for similar stuff.

The products are decent (at this price level), the service is typically good, and it's convenient to get in and out of - bravo! === 2. THE GOODS There are other dollar stores nearby (e.g. 5 and Cambie, Lansdowne, etc.) but this one is the winnah partly because of the selection: the store looks small on the outside next to PetSmart but it's large or deep on the inside. From housewares, to toys, to electronics, even to fresh breads and other groceries, there's likely something for you, especially as inflation and recession hit us post-pandemic. They do a pretty good job of bringing in seasonal (e.g. Halloween and now Christmas) items, and it's definitely our go-to place for greeting cards and gift wrap/bags. === 3. SERVICE Every time we've visited, we've had courteous service in the aisles when needing help and at check out: better than the competition. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's big and brightly-lit and relatively clean. It does get very busy though (for good reason), but that means baby strollers and wheelchairs may be squeezed in the aisles. Parking is ample in the shopping complex lot out front, which is what makes this location convenient: it's easy to quickly pop in and out with what you need!
