For example I will have them go to the end of the checkout and bag our items in a bag with another stores logo, and she will say we took that bag from there. Last I checked dollar tree doesn't sell Lululemon or Purdy's chocolate. She also has NEVER said thank you. Just tosses our receipt down and looks away. Now there is a newer cashier there that does not know how to count Canadian coins and embarrassed me in line. I had to count my change for her twice, both times she then recounted it and said I was short. I was not, and if she knew the value of each coin it could have saved me the frustration and embarrassment. When I tried to explain the value of the coins to her she tossed the in the till before I could prove it. It's not like it was a handful, it was three quarters and four nickels. She also told me to grab my own receipt... out of the machine.

There's a lot of items that are still a $1 (yay) and those that aren't have a sticker with the price on it. They have a selection of things from kitchenware, house ware, food items, gardening, tools, stationary, seasonal holidays....your typical dollar store. However, I felt like this store had items where the quality was better made or things were made with better materials. I like that there is parking and it's free. The only draw back is that it is located on a busy southwest Marine Drive. However, I'd be willing to drive here for the bargain.

The inside is newer than Dollar Giant (yay!), but the selection is mostly identical. Not too surprising. Oh, and they also pulled the "$1.25" thing. Sigh. One thing to note - they are open longer than Dollar Tree on all 7 days. Something to keep in mind.

The area is very dirty and not well maintained. Once in the store the shelves are very high and narrow. It is a very overwhelming feeling if you are sensitive to small spaces/claustrophobic. The amount of items in there is very overwhelming as well. I didn't stay long and mostly stuck to the snacks and candy. They have a large area near the check out that has candy, gum etc. Purchased an aero bar, coffee crisp, kit kit and toffee candy bar. For 4 candy bars (I either didn't get a receipt, didn't take it or lost it but it was $4.07 USD. There were 3 self check outs and one staff there to check out as well. Saw employees in aisles but only one at registers. Overall it was an underwhelming and overwhelming experience and I would not go out of my way to go back if in the area.

This is, without question, the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time…read more Over the course of a week, we spent hundreds of dollars at this Dollar Tree preparing for our twins' 5th birthday. On the morning of their party, we came back to buy even more balloons and supplies. We asked if they could fill a few balloons we'd purchased elsewhere and made it clear we were happy to pay whatever they charged. The answer? A flat "no." I understand stores have policies, but this location seems to have confused "policy" with "we don't care." There wasn't even the slightest attempt to help or offer an alternative. After taking hundreds of our dollars all week, they couldn't be bothered to provide a service we were willing to pay for. It's hard to imagine a business that values customers less than this one. They had every opportunity to create a loyal, repeat customer and instead chose to be rigid, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping a family on the morning of two little kids' birthday party. Customer service isn't just scanning items and taking people's money. It's about treating people with a basic level of courtesy and recognizing when a tiny bit of flexibility could make someone's day. Apparently, that's too much to ask at this location. We'll be taking our business elsewhere from now on, and I'd encourage anyone who expects even average customer service to do the same. Another dollar tree further from our home was happy help.
