I bought some trail runners here a couple years ago. They were meh. The sales girl didn't know a lot about the shoe. She was more interested in the cute guy walking in. This time around, no one in store except maybe 3 employees and 2 of their friends. Possible off duty coworkers by their conversation. No acknowledgment when waking in and no customer service. I had the pleasure of being served twice by Gursimran. I came in by myself the first time on Jan 20. Gursimran knew exactly what would be suitable for me and he was right. The shoes are very comfortable and fit perfectly. The next day I came back with my partner. This is the first New Balance store in the Lower Mainland. They sell all New Balance products such as shoes and apparel. I bought my New Balance 991 shoes at this store in 2001 when my New Balance 990 started to wear out. Believe or not, I'm still wearing my 991's to this very day, and they're in good condition too! If you don't see a shoe at this store, they will order it for you with no additional charges. I've purchased New Balance apparel at this store too and they seemed to be well stocked compared to other New Balance stores in the Lower Mainland. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's a bit far from Vancouver, but it's worth the drive. read more

I needed a pair of large size running shoes for floor hockey. After checking the web, I emailed Paul on a Friday night, and was answered Saturday morning with suggestions about which would suit my need for the sport, and that if needed, my shoes would be ordered. As luck would have it, the shoes I needed were in stock, in store. Great, friendly and personable service in the store. First time in 30 years that I was sat down and actually fitted for any shoes. Not used to that! Great shoes for my floor hockey experience. Price not cheap, but definitely fair for a shoe with leather upper ( a rare item these days). Better, I think, than prices for other name brand makes of similar shoes, especially for my size ( 15). The staff here were very helpful, even though I'm obviously no athlete. I have narrow feet and have a problem getting shoes that fit well--dress, work or athletic shoes. A friend told me to try New Balance. I found several pair that fit well, were well made of quality materials. Most shoes in other stores regardless of how expensive are poorly made; thin soles, poor quality leather when you can find it, and mostly man made materials shoddily put together. I was really impressed by the shoes in this shop and pleased that they sold shoes other than athletics. I wear my shoes forever when I get good ones, so the prices here are not out of line. I'm a big NB fan, and customer to this particular store for few years now. I always had very positive experience. Today, I visited the store in order to return. I was waiting at counter for a sales rep. A sale rep came to the counter and requested me if she can make a sale prior of my return. I agreed. Then her manager approached me, and said that there are other sales to make prior of my return, and pushed me from 1st. to 7th. position in the Que. I kept quite and went back into the newly formed Que. Now this manager took out his personal phone and took picture of all customers saying he wants to show it to his boss. From not catering the customers in the sequence of their arrival to taking their picture in order to show high traffic to the owners, every thing look weird. I don't think this is regular NB business ethic, rather an employees lack in salesman's ethics & practices. read more
