For a moment, I thought this could be the new XS Cargo--a Canadian discount chain that closed down several years ago and I have longed for the return of. I was aware that many Amazon products that are returned get sold to liquidators, so I entered the store with expectations of pretty competitive pricing. What I found was a pretty broad collection of cheaper-quality products at, what seemed like retail or near-retail prices. In spite of signage assuring me otherwise, the discounts that I saw just quite didn't rationalize the purchase price for me. After all, some of these products may even be defective Amazon returns and the savings just weren't substantial enough to take that risk. While the products may indeed be acquired through a liquidation sale, or Amazon palette auction model, the price that consumers like me see doesn't quite reflect that. It feels like someone's making a handsome markup here.

Obviously I need to update that picture with one when they're actually open, because when they are open it's crazy busy. Nevertheless, there she is in all her glory. Open every Sunday from 9-5pm, the hours of a true Flea Market, and boasting an admission price of only $0.25 I believe. You too can partake in the adventure of a lifetime. This place has it all, and none of that dollar store crap. I've found so many amazing deals here that I actually have to restrain myself from going every week. They usually even have local farmers selling produce outside. There are 3 giants rooms filled with booth after booth and you can easily kill a few hours here. Take your time and look carefully, there's a lot of junk in there and you really have to scan through everything to find the gold. They also have a small restaurant, which doesn't really have much that I can eat other then fries, but it's there if you need it. One quick tip: If you drive around to the back of the building, you should be able to find a decent parking place because no one seems to think there's parking back there, along with a separate entrance.

I had picked one main blue aluminum balloon, two white balloons and two gray balloons, but by the time air was put into them, they were almost all white balloons and didn't go with the bouquet. I had to add a blue balloon to add some pop for colour. When I got home, I noticed a balloon had a 'Mr. & Mrs' on it which didn't go with my birthday balloons. The sales girl obviously noticed that, but couldn't be bothered to tell me of my mistake in picking that balloon . And after paying almost $16 for liquid filling and helium for all the balloons, not even 24 hours later all of them except for the aluminum balloon were deflated to the floor. I figured the loose balloons they sold are old and therefore leaks. If you bought the prepackaged silver foil balloons they would last, as mine did. I will never go back there again. From the first step inside the door, I was blown away by meticulously arranged produce, bakery items, every label on every can and jar was "faced" forward by staff that showed great pride in their store. The lighting was bright, the cold cases were spotless and filled. Abundance and assortment was the order of the day. Staff was loading shelves while we shopped, and empty boxes were well under control, not splayed across the floor, which is so common in other discount grocery stores. I let the clerks know that I thoroughly enjoyed shopping with them today and congratulated them for having the most beautiful SAVE A LOT!

However, there are tables of boxes of different sizes and then in the same table there are open packages of items. Most boxes aren't marked with what's inside of them. The only way to find out is to take the boxes to a counter where staff will open them for you. I understand that people are careless and probably leave things a mess. But if this is the only way to see what's inside the box, why wouldn't they take the time to actually write what is inside of the box before you take it over? I walked past so many items that probably were great, but I really did not want to stand in line and wait for their staff to open up every box. The pricing leaves something to be desired as well. I understand that there are discounts according to the day, but you would go in on a Thursday and get the items for $.50, and on a Friday the exact same items are $12? Seriously? I know many people enjoy this kind of store but I can honestly say this is not for me.
