Ok, so Treasure Hunt gets it's merchandise from closeouts, bankruptcies, overstocks, liquidations, customer returns and out of season goods. This means inventory varies all the time, so you might go one time and feel that everything sucks, but then go another time and feel that they have awesome stuff. So keep this in mind. When I went, they had lots of GAP merchandise for $6-$10. Like workout pants and capris for $10, and yoga tops for $6. They had Banana Republic dresses (from the real Banana Republic boutique, not the Factory Store) for $25, although only in sizes 00 and 0. They had BCBG dresses for $5 - yep, you read that right, $5! Again, size selection was minimal, but the styles were actually pretty cute and they weren't damaged in any way that I could see. When I went, I was disappointed by the shoes, as they were mostly from Target. But who knows, some other time they might have cool shoes. The place was a mess though. It looked like a rummage sale. If you're the type of person who likes to go into a store, buy exactly what you are looking for and get out, this is not the place for you. However, if you like rummaging through junk to find a hidden gem (like I do), you'll like this place. They had lots of party supplies for 70% off the last price, so really dirt cheap. They had all sorts of miscellaneous stuff. My dad got a garbage can for $0.60 and a pair of gloves for $0.50. I got a Champion brand workout top for $4. Be forewarned, the place is very junky looking. You need patience to go through stuff, and you need to like "treasure hunting" lol. Treasure Hunt is in Dixie Mall and it's where the Sears Outlet used to be.

I had picked one main blue aluminum balloon, two white balloons and two gray balloons, but by the time air was put into them, they were almost all white balloons and didn't go with the bouquet. I had to add a blue balloon to add some pop for colour. When I got home, I noticed a balloon had a 'Mr. & Mrs' on it which didn't go with my birthday balloons. The sales girl obviously noticed that, but couldn't be bothered to tell me of my mistake in picking that balloon . And after paying almost $16 for liquid filling and helium for all the balloons, not even 24 hours later all of them except for the aluminum balloon were deflated to the floor. I figured the loose balloons they sold are old and therefore leaks. If you bought the prepackaged silver foil balloons they would last, as mine did. I will never go back there again. Terrible service & old products used. Here is a before and after, within the 24hr period of what my balloons looked like!

Last Wednesday, I had a day off and ended up in Oakville. I typically do my grocery run on…read moreWednesdays and needed to find a Giant Tiger. I learned that Oakville doesn't have one. The outrage that I had was unexpected! I did a search and found this one in Mississauga. It didn't take long to get here from downtown Oakville. It was around ten minutes. I pulled into Millway Shopping Centre (it's really a plaza) and didn't have a problem finding a parking spot. I backed into one and headed over to the store. There was a female panhandler in front of the store that was asking for money. It was my second time being asked for change in front of a Giant Tiger. The problem is that I don't carry change with me, especially during a pandemic when I pay using either a credit or debit card. I told her that detail and walked into the store. I like that there's a greeter at the store when you walk in these days. It's twofold. It's to make sure that the store doesn't exceed the maximum capacity of folks shopping. It is also to check that you're wearing a mask. She was nice and said hi. I reciprocated. My goal was to get avocados and celery. I achieved it with flying colours. There were two displays of avocados. One display had ripe ones. The other one wasn't as ripe. I always get the six-pack of avocados and they are cheap at under $3. I saw a woman taking celery out of a box and putting them into the produce section. I asked if she could hand me a couple from the box. She was great and handed them over to me. They were so fresh. I felt so VIP with my celery! Although I haven't done much shoe browsing during this pandemic, I loved the sneakers here. Sadly, they offer women's shoe sizes from 6 to 9. Such a bummer for someone who swears a size 11! I haven't seen Squishmallows at Giant Tiger stores in months. It was the case at this store. Instead, I looked at larger baby Yoda plushies. I had enough willpower to not buy one. There wasn't a huge lineup at the checkout. I had a nice woman help cash me out. I decided to finally sign up for GT VIP mailing list and took a leaflet on how to do it. She was nice. I paid, got my goodies, and wished her a good day. I realize that this visit was my first at any Giant Tiger in Mississauga. I tend to visit GT stores in Etobicoke, Scarborough, and Stouffville the most. It's nice that I'm doing the GT tour these days. I had a great experience here. I'd return when I'm in the neighbourhood again. (105)

In the summer they hand racks of clothing that are on mega sale outside for you to browse. I find giant tiger best for inexpensive basics - sweatpants for $9, packs of bras and underwear pretty affordable. I've also purchased house items such as small carpets and shelving here. My most recent trip was to secure a pair of snow pants so I can walk outside on the chilly days. They only had about 6 pairs of black snow pants hanging on a rack with minimal sizing this time - I guess people had the same idea as me and beat me to it. I grabbed a pair that were a bit larger for me but could be tied. For the amount i'd use them - $30 seemed fine? They were shiny in the material and basically looked like i was wearing garbage bags but - it's fine. I roamed to the mens side of things and ended up trying on a smaller mens size with a more muted black material - winner! They were also $5 cheaper than the woman's - score! Are they flattering? NO. Will they keep my tush warm next week when I attempt to go skiing? YES.
