The front wall is all window - looking out on a crummy section of Coxwell, so no great shakes there, but the extra light makes the store feel a bit less grungy than many Dollaramas. I walked in, found my $2 baskets, stood in line for about three minutes (only one person in front of me, but she was a pack-everything-into-your-purse-just-so-before-walking-away-from-the-register type). Painless.

I love original Shirley biscuits and found they had a ginger flavour at this store which I haven't seen at other places. I found a small glass mug that I've been searching for so long and was excited because it was the perfect size! They had some cool looking plates too. I also found a cheese knife set that I haven't seen at other dollar stores. They had this Italian carbonated spring water in a beautiful glass bottle I had to get! All were great deals. I got friendly service too at check out. I loved that they offered to wrap my glass mug.

This store is huge and you should find what you're looking for by paying attention to the overhead signs between the aisles. The selection is pretty vast and quantities plentiful as the shelves are constantly re-stocked by staff. I found what I was looking for and felt pretty good for the $10 I paid on 3 kitchen items and $1 for the card (all pre-taxes). Mind you, all but the card came from China. Checkout was quick although nobody actually got a thank you from the cashier after the sale; we're talking about 5 different customers including me. Minus 1 star!!

Despite it's false advertising, it's still a one stop shop for most of your needs. I come here for party decorations - there's an extensive balloon collection ($1-2) and another $1 for helium. At the back there are gift wraps and bags, and any other paper decor you might need. They also have a very good electronics section. You can get almost any wire or plug that you need. There are also some decent iphone/blackberry cases for abour $3-5. Like any other big dollar store, there's almost anything you could imagine for household under one roof. There was even a Halloween section for the season, but the prices are no different than what I saw at a regular costume store. Lots of choice, but not everything is a $1 here!

A second employee arrived immediately and next in line was cashed out. I went for balloons and the employee knew exactly what to do and I was in the store 10 minutes or less with beautiful Happy Birthday balloons to take for an 85-year-old woman. The service was polite, calm, efficient, and a very good experience. I never bought helium balloons before and my experience was excellent. I was in a hurry and I want to say it made my day to have pretty balloons from a large collection in such a short time. Your experienced cashiers made it all possible for me. Thank you. Conni K.

I wanted to buy so many things in here, but I didn't have the money to and I couldn't carry it all, because I do not drive when I go to Toronto, I take public transportation. The staff seem to focus primarily on keeping the store stocked rather than working the cash, which means wait times at checkout can vary quite a bit depending on the time of day and the day of the week. There can definitely be a bit of a line and a longer wait during busier periods. It's also not the cleanest Dollarama location, and there is unfortunately a pretty unpleasant smell in the store. That said, if you know what you need, get in, grab your items and get out, it does the job. The selection is good, the store is well stocked, and you'll likely be able to find what you came for.
