Tanger Outlets Ottawa - 2 fave stores, then a quick purchase at Soft Moc

Went to Tanger Outlets Ottawa and honestly had a really good time…read more There's a ton of stores and I actually found stuff here I couldn't find online or at regular locations which surprised me. The deals were really good too Old Navy was solid as usual and even Lululemon had that 2 for $100 leggings thing. They have QR codes everywhere so you can just scan and join their rewards/app on the spot and get coupons while you shop which is kinda nice, didn't feel complicated. The vibe was cute too there's like a fire pit in the middle (even though it was sunny lol), music playing, and I swear I smelled mini donuts at one point with some bangers playing lol Also random tip but if you're signed up with Lindt you can get free chocolate bag for your birthday (and like up to 30 days after). Only thing is the food area is super small, like a couple spots, so don't expect a full food court. But honestly you won't really care because there's a lot to walk through. Would go back for sure.

Japanese, Subway, Greek... nah but the washrooms inside there are handy and clean. The stores I would normally go are Bath and Body Works for foaming soap and hand sanitizer.. love their candles too. Van Houte maybe for a rare treat. Tommy Hillfiger but nothing fits right as I have an athletic build so... I just look. I love Softmoc, I do have too many shoes and boots but that's allowed! My ultimate spot there is Chilly Chiles as I love hot food/sauces and the staff there are great. I love the kitchen store too but I have wayyyyy too much of that stuff as I love to cook and already have fancy glasses. Mid week is best to go for service and parking - weekends, I avoid.

Original review: So Almost Perfect is a chain with several locations. Prior to my visit to this Brockville location, I had only ever been to the Toronto location. I would say that the Brockville location is comparable to the Toronto location. Almost Perfect is a grocery store outlet. They sell items that are "almost perfect" like mis-formed chocolate bars, or broken cookies. They also sell items that are approaching their best-before date or discontinued products, like things in flavours that didn't sell well. Their prices are cheap, cheap, cheap. I got some kale chips that usually sell for $6.99 a bag at Loblaws for only $3.33 a bag (the "best-before date" was 3 months from the date of purchase, so not bad at all). They had lots of Udi's gluten-free breads going for $10 for 3 loaves. They had Annie's organic gummies for $2.99 a box. Inventory changes regularly, so it's a surprise with every visit :) This location is a stand alone store (not in a strip mall). There's an attached parking lot with free parking. Staff are super nice and helpful. They only take cash or debit. No credit cards. This place is awesome. If I lived in Brockville, I would go every week!

I pass it quiet frequently and always wanted to stop in, but it was never on the top of my priority list, especially with so many other thrift stores on that street. I had some Christmas items that I wanted to donate, and thought, this is my chance to check out Bibles for Missions. I could tell just from stepping up to the donation door that they bombarded with donations. The donation door was wide open and there were a couple of workers in the back, no greeting, acknowledgment, or thank you, so I plopped my donation down and decided to check out the store. The first thing that I noticed were the signs placed in the entrance "please leave big purses and bags at cash, we reserve the right to search your bag," and so on. Maybe there has been a lot of theft? Not sure, but it did not give me a friendly first impression. No greeting, or acknowledgment throughout the 15 minutes browsing the store, but there were plenty of staff on the sales floor for customer assistance/questions. I did not find that there was a great selection, it was like walking through grandmas basement. Nothing caught my eye here, and I was not "wowed" by anything in particular. What stands out about this thrift store than others, is that it is mostly volunteers, and the majority of the profit goes towards their partnership with the bible league of Canada. More information found on their website: http://www.bfmottawa.com/about-us Would I go back? Only to donate, not to shop.

Definitely the best thrift store in the city! Lots of quality merchandise at great prices…read more The store is well laid out and the staff are super helpful.

This new location and mall will be busy in no time! We were on our way to the Wallmart on Terry Fox and took this route in. As we passed this new store (located beside the dollarama), we knew we'd have to try this store. As we were wandering around the many aisles, I was searching for someone to ask the address (needed to put it into Yelp, dontcha know!) And who should I see, but the very fellow who owns the Bulk Barn on Hazeldean! So we had a good chat, and he was telling me he thinks it'll be 3 years before this store gets out of the red. Let's prove him wrong! However, don't be fooled by the location I put in - it's near Terry Fox, and not near Eagleson. Ok, so something else I found out - I was looking for those halloween toffees that come wrapped in orange and black but I haven't seen any anwhere. Apparently, those have been recalled, across the country! Mr Trozo(sp?) guided me to the replacements, which were made in Quebec - they're called "Ste Catherine Originals". Interesting! Just as tasty, and tremendously soft. Better yet - they're made in Canada!! OK, so I went shopping!! The other candies I bought for the office are individually wrapped lozenges. I tried these as something new, and they were a hit! I've got people coming back and asking for them - they are in the section at the end of an aisle, where they sell the MacIntosh toffees. I like those too, but these ones are slow disolving ones, with a dab of chocolate inside. Outside is hard, and 2 flavours are Strawberry Acai, and Pomegranate and Blueberry. So cool! Oh, and don't forget the usual culprits: caramels - the regular kind, as well as chocolate flavoured. So good when they're fresh! At this time of year, you've gotta have halloween treats to dish out to the goblins at work! This is a great place to stock up.

My significant other is especially good at steering me away from the back of the store so that I don't get caught buying another gadget! They don't always carry the same items; a few years ago, they had stoneware loaf pans at a really excellent price - about $7.00 each. I had bought one through the Pampered Chef (which I love and still use), but I would have bought another one here (at that price!) so that I could have made 2 loaves at once. The best way to shop here is to have a list and stick to it. Since the local newspapers are no longer being published, the flyers are not getting distributed like they used to either, so it's more difficult to know what's on sale there.
