We go through a lot of reading glasses in this house. You think we could keep track of them, but it seems they keep disappearing. The prime suspect: our puppy, who thinks that they are a fun chew toy. At the Rite Aid that's a few blocks from our house, they cost $12.99 for a three pack. On Amazon, the best price I saw worked out to about $2 per pair. You can easily spend $30 for one pair of reading glasses. But here, they cost $1. And, all you get for the extra expense is a fancier frame: the lens is still basically the same. And, everything costs $1 here. I used to think that all dollar stores had the same price structure. But, try going to Dollar General and check the prices there: in this Sunday's flyer, literally everything was MORE than a dollar. I also come here for plates, mugs, and drinking glasses. The quality of the drinking glasses is variable: I had one set that broke after a trip or two through the dishwasher, because the glass was so thin. But, remember, they only cost $1. There is a very good selection here, so if you are perceptive, you can find sturdy drinking glasses. The plates and coffee mugs are comparable to something you would spend several times more to buy at a department store. This is also a great place to go for kitchen tools, like tongs and sieves. So what if they don't have the Sur La Table sheen to them? They still do the job. And, let me clear up something for you in case you are wondering: you are NOT too good to go to the dollar store. I honestly used to love this store, it used to be stocked well I could always find what I needed and then some. Now I feel like the quality as far as organization has gone WAY down. Things are shoved everywhere on top of racks and tucked in corned and on top of each other, they're getting almost as bad as the dollar tree on 12 and Gratiot which is BAD! I'm very disappointed and have since been trying to branch out to further dollar trees that are more pleasant and easier to shop at. I hope they can turn this around because I miss have a store close by that I love and frequently shop at. Their employees are pleasant to deal with though at check out which is the only reason I haven't completely stopped going here or given a worse review. It is also disappointing because they rarely get newer stock items shown on the dollar tree website and takes forever to have it in stock if you were to order it online and ship it to store. - Fine for a quick stop if you need something unpopular but be prepared to look for it a lot longer than other stores.- read more

Customer service is terrible the "American lady" very rude. Whoever was on register grabbed my hand as I grabbed the divider to separate my purchases from the woman behind me and tossed it back by her, she then proceeded to tell me that the divider was for her and not for the customers. Keep in mind there was about 10-15 people behind me and no one else to man the other registers. Then, she took off and walked around the store obviously aimlessly knowing that there were plenty of other people trying to check out. (She took off as soon as it got to my purchase, and a nice women offered to pay for my drink since I was sick.) I asked the woman not to touch me due to me being sick and I was obviously sick. Just honestly terrible service and that definitely set the tone for this whole store. read more

AWFUL STAFF I walked into the store and got three of the same item (that I already knew I wanted) and made my way to the checkout area. There are four registers, but only one was manned (by a "magic American" lady). The line from her register went almost to the middle aisle halfway deep into the store!!! INSANE considering another worker was casually fussing with the stock on the shelves (not putting up new product but moving to appear busy instead of actually working). I asked the not-working worker if she would man another register, and she said no! Hahaha. I asked why, and she said that the register lady had to ask for help and that she was not the manager to decide that. Perplexed, I walked up to the front and asked the diversity hire at the register to call for more help. She said that no one else was around to help (immediate lie). Then the second lady, who CLAIMED not to be the manager, walked up to the front of the store and called a THIRD worker from the back up to the front to man a register. WHAT A SURPRISE! THE WORKER LIED! She WAS the manager after all, and also, the magic American at the register lied, because not only was there ONE other worker available, there were AT LEAST TWO!!! This means that they had the means to assist customers and REFUSED. Speaking of refusing service, when I got to the checkout, the LIAR REFUSED ME SERVICE!! I went to the second checkout line (that only existed because I asked for it, because the manager was a liar and was cheating customers of basic service [an UNNECESSARY checkout line that goes HALWAY down the building during a SLOW part of the day is at least incompetence, though it also felt malicious and willful [perhaps more so than mere deficient ability]). I told the checkout loser that refusing service was illegal ever since the Civil Rights Act (which nullified the "Right of Refusal" for businesses). Too bad I'm not a magic American myself. I could be believed for claiming racism, but that is also what it felt like I was getting from her. She was a HORRENDOUS "worker," who NEVER owned up to her lies and threw shade back on me, because she played the victim even though she made her own bed and had to lie in it. Well, I guess not... I will not return to that store ANYTIME soon. The lack of quality in the two aforementioned workers left me wanting any other store than that one. I should note one positive: the dude that was called from the back to the front to step in at the register (because the manager was "too good" to "step down" to do actual work) was quiet but lovely and fast. I could see he is stuck with losers. What he makes of that is on him, and I wish him the best. Truly, a minority of workers do the majority of the work, and he proved that fact for how much FASTER he was than the lady at the other register, who took the rest of the time to grumble about being called out by a customer to every customer that came through her aisle. If I was in her position, I would have felt guilty and apologized and corrected the mistake, but she was a narcissist that was above her actual job. FIRE such a loser! Also fire that "manager," or whatever she is (she clearly was the ranking worker there given her power move on the store P.A. system to get a previously unseen worker to materialize and immediately help where SHE should have been much earlier). What a slap in the face. The line goes halfway down the store, because the checkout girl wanted to make the customers wait longer The manager lies and says she cannot be at the register and said such a decision was up to management I ask the checkout girl to call for another worker to man a register, and she LIES and says she cannot do such a thing because no one was available The "not-manager" walks up front and calls a worker from the stockroom to the front to man a register (turns out, she LIED about not having the authority to call for help) The second register opens and makes QUICK work of half the line I get to the magic American's register, and the loser REFUSES SERVICE TO ME!! I tell her such a refusal is illegal from the 1963 Civil Rights Act's BAN on the "Right of Refusal" The second register dude was quiet but quick That didn't change the fact that the place is run almost as bad as Patrice Cullor's nonprofits. read more

This isn't a Dollar Tree anymore! They've stopped selling their $1 ($1.25) items and have filled the store with $3 & $5 items. Idk what kind of scam they're running but I'm not going to be a victim of their corporate greed. This is false advertisement and it's infuriating that they're bringing people in under one impression and trying to upswell them. read more

Definitely cannot complain about the price. Dollar Tree has Hallmark cards and only $1! Looking for cheap gift wrap or party supplies, look no further this place has a decent selection. Dollar Tree has a private lot and the customer service is good. read more

Wow, like many other retailers, they already have Christmas stuff on display. This was a pretty well-stocked store. Most of the stuff I didn't need, but I purchased a couple food items that I can store and use later. Sometimes I wonder about the names of these similar-sounding stores. Like the 5-and-dime stores of yesteryear, these 'dollar' stores sure don't hold the line at a dollar. read more

There's a huge selection of Christmas merchandise and everything is a dollar. Great store to get all your Christmas paper, boxes, and stocking stuffers. For as much stuff as they had on the shelves and on display the store was pretty clean and organized. There was only one line open for checkout and it was long. Both times I've been here there has only been one cashier. Other than waiting in the checkout line this store had everything I needed on my list. read more

This a well stocked dollar tree, some what. I came in for Mylar balloons and a birthday card and they had both. Although, they were out of 4 Birthday balloons that I wanted. It wasn't a big deal, I just made other choices. The lady blowing up my balloons was friendly, maybe even Too friendly. She made small talk that kinda trapped me in a conversation, and I was in a hurry. You know how that goes.... they had a large selection of birthday cards that were all 2/$1. Gota love that price. They also had a nice selection of Mother's Day card at $1 each. They are nicer then the 2/$1 ones. So go ahead- splurge on your mother, wife or grandma. Just don't be that person who forgets Mother's Day. It's Sunday May 13th in case you needed a reminder. The check out was long, because of course I was gain in a hurry. We were 5 deep and only one register. And of course the employee was the overly friendly type who also wanted to make small talk with everyone who checked out. This isn't my stomping ground, so I doubt I'll ever be back. But it filled my need sufficiently. read more
