It was my first time to Ollies and I was super excited. Started to fill my cart up, feeling the Christmas shopping bug and holiday spirit. Then I get to the rug section to look at a few rugs. A lady a few feet away from me kindly asked the young employee if he could help her look at a rug because it was under a pile. He looked at her like she asked him to dig to China on his day off, then he marched over and said, which one? I'll jut let you imagine his tone of voice. She showed him the rug and this is when I couldn't look away. He said, and I will quote almost exactly, " That is an ugly rug. You want that one, you actually like it? She said, "Well, I like the rug. He said, Whatever you want, but that's an extremely ugly rug. I couldn't help myself, so I had to ask if they knew each other. She said no. Shocked, I said, "If you were my son, I would give you a piece of my mind, you should never speak to a customer that way. A few men that were walking near me popped up and agreed with me. What a bitter miserable human being to want to speak to another person that way. He just smirked at us. I had to walk away because it was too crazy to confront any further. I said my piece. I was told there were no managers to speak with, so I am here. It's a shame, because I believe in giving businesses a chance to resolve issues on their own before going to the internet, but they don't care. I was super nice on the phone and told them I just need to make Ollies aware of the situation so that they could speak with the employee about his behavior or maybe he need to go home and sleep his anger off. Someone needs to have an adult conversation with that kid. Either that or he is trying to get fired or in a confrontation. I was born and raised in East Tennessee. People don't treat each other that way around here. That is what makes Knoxville so special. Okay, I have said my piece and hopefully Ollies brings up ethics and the importance of kindness in one of their meetings. It's the holidays people! P.S. They have a large selection of candies including a lot of candy from Japan such Ramune Sodas and Meiji Pandas. The candy is always fresh and the selection is ever changing. Where this store really shines is the selection of home goods, toys, and electronic items. These items are always changing, but for $5 and under you really can't go wrong. The store can sometimes be disorganized and there can be long lines at checkout on weekend days and at peak times. However, I have never waited more than 5 minutes in line. It is worth mentioning that there isn't a restroom at this location, but this is a trivial issue. Seeing as how it is located in a strip mall and there are plenty of restrooms in other nearby stores. All in all...If you are in Turkey Creek, you have to stop by. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Be careful though... it is really easy to get carried away!

Because I frequently travel within USA , I try to shop any convenient TJMaxx along my travels and stay. I have notices, however, that the prices have increased far more than other 'discounted' stores, which has decidedly cut down on my frequency.
