Every shelf was stacked high with more red-white-and-blue gear than I've seen at a county fair on the Fourth of July. Hats, shirts, flags, signs -- stuff that practically growled "FREEDOM" at me as I walked by. The walls might as well have been holding up the Constitution. I grabbed merch like a rancher grabbing supplies before a storm. Didn't even look at the price. Didn't care. Some things you buy because they mean something -- and this cowboy walks by principle, not coupons. The folks working there? Straight shooters. No nonsense. No fluff. Just solid American backbone behind that counter. I walked out of there loaded with gear, shoulders squared, boots stompin', feelin' like I'd just been branded with pure patriotism. It was a Tuesday so they were serving complimentary tacos. On the back row, behind the rainbow sweatshirts, I saw a box with "Epstein," written on it. I'm sure it's just where they keep inventory. I was also able to snag a nice white hood for my son to wear to school. As my purchase was totaled, there was a "ballroom" fee but I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy that amenity on my next trip to DC. NO MORE BELK !!!! I…read moreremember going to Belk's when I was a kid, and it seemed to have a good reputation. I just visited today (26F) to buy some flannel sheets. When I googled "flannel sheets" it popped up that Belk had these really pretty green checkered ones for under $25! I got in my car and drove down, walked the WHOLE STORE twice before a nice lady asked me if I needed help, so I explained I was looking for flannel sheets. She gave me a sympathetic smile, and informed me that I was at the WOMEN'S STORE, and that the sheets would be in the MENS. I asked if it was upstairs or something, and she shook her head "no", and explained how to get there. Apparently, there are TWO Belks. They are less than .5 mile from each other and NOT connected. On apple and google maps it only show the address for the women's location. I get BACK in my car and over to the men's store, and locate the sheets I was looking at. Turns out the sheets that were advertised to me by my google search were in fact MICROFIBER sheets. When I asked an associate a question about how the bedding section was arranged I told her that I wasn't a regular shopper, and was curious since it seemed all the microfiber sheets I was looking at were FULL size; she proceeded to look me up and down, and respond " obviously , now can you move so I can get a ladder." I was kinda in shock at being treated like this. I snagged a set of flannel sheets from the sale table on the other side of the bedding section ( not really the ones I wanted but oh well) and made my way to the register. The lady there rang me up, and told me my total. I figured that the sheets would be close to maybe $22 since the microfiber ones were $14.98 to my shock they were $30. I asked the employee that if I could find them cheaper online if they would price match. She scoffed and looked down her nose at me. "If you can FIND them for Cheeper then 75% off I'll be in shock." She said sarcastically to me with a role of her eyes, and this was not a young person either! Needless to say I spent $10 extra at JC Penney's for better service. Just because I don't fit the "norm" of thin, white, and over 65 doesn't mean that they can be rude to me. I'll be returning the sheets and never spending a DIME in that business. Needles to say I can see why no one under the age of 45 shops there.

Also when you are ready to get a changing room they come into the large space where the changing rooms are located. I was wearing my tee shirt that I wore into the store and I wasn't going to walk out with just my bra. You shouldn't give unsolicited negative fashion advice to people. They are a little pricey but totally worth it because they are the soy candles (basically saying they aren't cheap-o candles and you can also use it as a lotion when the wax is hot, good idea right?) :) The manager here is A-Maz-ing!
