This is a combo store- housing both a Homegoods and a TJ Maxx in the same building. The store is good sized, bright and clean and has a ton of checkout registers. Lots of nice stuff- sheets, towels, bedding, art, and so much more. I saw many staff being busy and milling about assisting customers so that is always good. I got some pet shampoo for a good price- even better than local pet stores and online!

This is a discount / liquidation type store, so you know going in it is going to be hit or miss…read moredepending on what buys they have made recently. I liked the liquidation items best, and got some affordable name brand bath and body items at a great price. Specifically, I was happy to find Mrs. Meyers hand soap (seasonal scents, but fine with me) and Method body wash. There were also several bins of Claire's items, which are perfect for my niece. They do have a bunch of cheap items that feel poorly made, but if you know your brands and prices there are deals to be found. Also, they have a restroom that could have been cleaner but wasn't awful, though there are no paper towels.

This store has a ton of merchandise, but the main takeaway is this: You must hunt for the deal. For a designer shopper like me, about 90% of the items were a 'no go' in terms of quality or discount. You'll find a lot of items priced identically to what you'd see on Amazon or at standard discount stores, ie electric blankets ... unfortunately I couldn't go through the whole entire store because my husband was hungry and is not really a shopper so he was getting quite aggravated , However, the store does deliver on its promise if you dedicate the time. My big win was a Henkel knife worth approximately $27 that I snagged for just $6.99. That is the kind of deal I expected. Don't Bother: Skip the food , candy , etc.. aisle. If you love nice things and enjoy a challenging hunt for a deep discount, this is your spot, but leave the hungry husband at home!"

But I…read moredo expect to find good deals on certain types of products - and that's the case here - basic food products, a variety of olive oils, Bob's Red Mill products, health and beauty aids, school supplies, and of course a huge assortment of rugs. This particular store had a bit less lawn and garden supplies than others I've visited (but still quite a bit), and instead focused more on patio and pool supplies. One unexpected surprise was a good assortment of luggage. The store is very brightly lit, clean and well organized. I'd probably only come here for specific items, but I know I'd get a good variety and deal on those items.

Big Lots is similar to Ocean State Job Lot (another discount store), but this store seems slightly smaller than a Job Lot. This store offers plenty home goods, hardware, yard supplies, electronics, music & movies, seasonal decorations/supplies, baby stuff, toys, health & beauty things, groceries from around the "world", snacks, drinks, apparel, pet supplies, and a big section in the back left corner with furniture and mattresses. There are plenty of clearance items throughout the store too. This store unfortunately does not have a book dept, which Ocean State Job Lot offers. I stopped in here recently and this store was offering 20 percent off everything in the store for one day. I picked up a $5 pair of headphones and a $6 USB adapter/card reader for my SD Card/MS Duo media, which was discounted by 20 percent to $8.80. The staff here worked efficiently and the two lines of customers moved swiftly.
