I just moved to the area and this is truly the nicest Dollar Tree I've ever been to. The store is spotless, bright, and so well organized that it actually makes shopping relaxing and enjoyable (something I've never said about Dollar Tree). Every aisle is neatly stocked, shelves are full, and everything is easy to find--you can tell the staff takes real pride in keeping the store clean and well maintained. The employees are also incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, always willing to point you in the right direction or check on what you need. I'll definitely be coming back often. read more

Zero stars if I could. I went into Dollar Tree with my teenager and her friend, and unfortunately had a very negative experience with two of the employees. My daughter and her friend asked if they could get change for a dollar to use the quarter machines, and the cashier gave them unnecessary attitude -- I could hear her tone from across the store. I paid at a different register where the cashier was friendly and gave me change in quarters, which I appreciated. While my daughter, her friend, and her friend's mom were at the quarter machines, I noticed an older woman with glasses (who appeared to be a manager or supervisor) watching them with clear irritation -- sighing loudly and pointing them out to the first cashier. She eventually walked over and told them they needed to clear the area because they were "getting ready to close." This was at 8:20 PM, even though the store closes at 9. The girls had already made their purchase and were just using the machines at the front. To make things worse, that same woman told the other employee she was clocking out and walked out just minutes later, which made it seem like she just had a problem with us standing there. I understand this is Dollar Tree, and I don't expect high-end service -- but basic courtesy goes a long way. I've visited this location during the day and never had a problem, so this might just be a night shift issue. Still, there's no excuse for treating customers like an inconvenience. read more

Not only did google say that they were open until 10 but also their sign out front. Yet they were closed and I came at 9:40. Out of all dollar trees this one is the one I would least recommend the workers are rude and clearly they don't stay open when they should. This is are go to Dollar Tree as it is conveniently looking next to the highschool which we visit often due to our teenager. I've never seen it busy unless school is out. Unfortunately the high schoolers have stolen from there quite often that they limit the amount of people in the store when school gets out. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful during check out. I've never asked for help in the aisles as everything is in its place and well stocked. The selection is okay. Some items have more than others but that's not a problem for us. Price wise I really don't like that items are 1.25 in a dollar store but what can you do? For the items I get from here it beats grocery store pricing. It's a standard Dollar Tree where it's not a mess to look for stuff. read more

By far the nicest DollarTree/dollar store I've ever been to. Store is clean, shelves are neat and tidy and full of lots of products, staff is super friendly. Clearly they take pride in their store. I go out of my way to shop here when I'm in Rocklin. It's a hit or miss with the employees, some are super helpful and some are rude especially cashiers. One old brunette caucasian woman cashier is so rude what happened to "Hi" "Hello" or "Have a nice day" terrible customer service. You would think a woman that old would have learned some manners by now. read more

I recommend this store as long as you know what isle/section the item you want is on, because if you ask a worker they'll tell you the isle, but that's it. You're on your own to locate it, they def won't walk over to help. And if it's near closing time they'll aggressively remind you as soon as you walk in the door. read more

Dollar Tree: Where the Prices are Low but the Customer Service is Even Lower! First off, I encountered an older woman cashier who seemed to be auditioning for a role in "The Grumpy Retailer." Her enthusiasm for the job was about as high as a penny on the floor--nonexistent! When I approached the register, I was greeted with a look that could curdle milk. A friendly "hello" was met with a sigh that suggested I was interrupting her very important day. She looked through my bag and receipt and roll her eyes and made faces at each item. I just wanted to make an easy return. I didn't understand the rudeness. I got home and called to speak with a manager. I tried to explain my experience, but it quickly became clear that I was speaking to someone who had mastered the art of incompetence. Why is the "Dollar Store" now more expensive than Walmart? The addition of all the "multi dollar items" cut out all the shelf space for the $1.25 items. So the selection available is mainly multi-dollar items. The store is way too small for all the items . I can get all of the "multi dollar " items at the grocery store on sale cheaper than their price and Walmart/Safeway is cheaper. Bad move Dollar Tree, you are now following the business path of the 99 cent store and they went bankrupt. Dollar Tree should never have tried to buy out their competition, buying Family Dollar Stores was a very stupid move. I see on line that you will be closing down hundreds of your stores and when leases expire, even more. That means hundreds of people will be out of work. Wow- did you really think you could buy out your competition??? My word to anyone who has a special item that they buy at Dollar Tree- stock up now before they close all of their stores!! I purchased balloons at the Lincoln location and they were out of helium and told me to come to another location, which I've done before with no issue. I came to this location and the manager was super rude about it. Her name was Becky or Becca. A heavier set caucasian woman. I explained to her they said to come there and she cut me off and said "of course they did" super rude then filled the balloons with a stank attitude the entire time. When I went to put them in my trunk I realized they weren't even filled all the way. I could smash them like they were going flat already. A waste of my time and balloons when they're not filled. I said thank you to her nicely as well even though she was being a c*** and she just says "ya" with an eye roll tone and walked away. Bummer because the store is super clean but I'd stay away for just shitty customer service reasons. read more

Your employees Lisa (who had her name badge flipped) and another female with glasses (didn't have a badge on) are extremely rude and unprofessional. Lisa continued to talk how much she had to clean the store due to messes being made children. Then made a comment about us watching our children in the store. I advised her my children were not making a mess and the items she was playing with I was going to purchase. Even at check out she continued to make comments after we told her the conversation was over and to just check us out. Please have a talk with her before someone less God fearing comes in. read more

while at Dollar tree stanford ranch, I was treated terrible by a manager named Maria she was very cold and treated me horrible as a polite customer asking for help in locating a item she rudely said my register is closed and I'm not able to help you , then I said I'm sorry and she then talked about me and other customers to a customer at the register, she treated the other clerk horrible and dumped all customer on her and rudely shouted my line is closed. It was sad and upsetting for all of us there waiting in the other line...this person is named Maria. I sure hope she can be a little kinder next time customers approach her for help and at least help her co- worker instead of ordering her around and hollering at customers that her line was closed... Justin is the best! I work for a preschool and accidentally sent a teacher with my personal debit card instead of the company card to get A LOT of items . When I realized my mistake I called and asked if there was any way to fix it. Justin helped me through returning almost 200 items and repurchasing said items with the correct card. It would have been easy to be very annoyed with the situation. Justin who I am assuming is the manager was helpful and kind through the whole ordeal. I am extremely happy with the service i received. He made what could have been a disaster, easy peasy! read more

Beware of aggressive/erratic employee! I went into the Rocklin location with my husband tonight and was completely taken back by the behavior of the employee named Maria. She was clearly bothered by the teens in the store tonight who were not acting inappropriately whatsoever. 4 girls walked down one aisle and she very rudely told them if they plan on buying paint tonight she's not selling it to them. The girls were super polite and obviously confused. She told them they've been having their building get paint on it each weekend so if they think they're buying it she's not selling it to them. The girls told her we're just doing face painting and the employee rudely cut them off and started talking down to them super slow and harsh as if they were her own children and not listening or something. The girls just went about their business and we clearly still confused and uncomfortable with the aggressive behavior of the employee. A few minutes later you could here her yelling to the girls who were still browsing "If you're not going to buy something then get out". This was completely bizarre to me considering these girls were minding their own business and not causing any issues. Not long after that the employee gets on the microphone across the whole store and announces that all high school students in the store need to finish their purchase and leave the store. This was probably one of the most bizarre things I've ever experienced in this store or any other store for that matter. The girls left at this point but there were a couple other teens in the store as well. They were not together it was just a busy night with lots of families and teens in at the time. Well just when I thought this employee was done acting like a crazy person she gets back on the microphone and says "security please sweep all aisles in the store." Like what?!?! What security? And why? It was her and the cashier working in the store for starters and I was so taken back that this employee was that bothered by the teens in the store. There were quite a few families in the store at the time and we definitely had some shared eye contact. It was clear I wasn't the only one wondering what's going on with this lady. I completely understand the risks stores face with younger shoppers but these teens were not being disruptive, loud, immature, or anything. I told my husband I hope she doesn't treat our kids like that when they come here. Thank goodness after talking to my kids when I got home they haven't experienced this treatment but they're definitely not allowed to go in there without me now in case that lady is working again. Nobody deserve to be treated the way that lady treated those teens tonight. She should be ashamed of herself for being that worked up and unprofessional. Rocklin is full of friendly and upbeat people and this lady really doesn't display the customer service or behavior I would expect in our community. read more

I love this dollar tree, it's my favorite! This location is always very tidy and they have an excellent card section. Best place to stock up on greeting cards. Most cards are $1.00 but some are two for $1.00 which is great. Every time I come here the checkers are very friendly. read more

This store is located by a high school, and I've noticed employees/managers are on edge and very irritable and rude toward teenagers in their store. However, during one of my visits, some boys were shopping and talking and the manager very loudly said, "Ok, boys! You're getting loud!" Then said something along the lines, if they got out of hand they were going to have to leave the store. It surprised me because they were one isle over, and they had not bothered me at all. They were taking in a normal tone. I heard one whisper, "Now we can't even talk?" It was a very good question! If they had been adults, I'm sure the manager wouldn't have batted an eyelash, much less talk down to them so loudly. I actually felt I had to advocate for them and told her if it weren't for the high school kids and us parents who give them money, their business wouldn't be so profitable. I wouldn't want my son treated like that if he went into their store. She explained that they deal with rude and misbehaving teens frequently. I understand that, but those boys were doing nothing wrong. On 11/23/21 my teen daughter and her two friends went in to make a purchase. One needed to use the restroom and they all went in together. Apparently, the assistant manager Maria was horrified that they went in together because it's a single toilet bathroom. If anyone has teen girls, it is very common for them to go to the bathroom together in groups. It's not like they stand there and stare, it's a buddy system. Usually they're in front of the mirror fixing their makeup or hair. My daughter and friends said they didn't take a long time and didn't leave a mess behind. When they came out, Maria berated them in front of other customers. She told them they should be ashamed of themselves and that "there were children there!" She then told them they could not use the bathroom again, and she locked it. The girls tried to question what they did that was so wrong, and she told them if they kept mouthing off she'd call the cops. My daughter called me and had her friends on speaker and they were so upset! They felt this woman humiliated and shamed them. I was so upset, I called to speak to Maria to tell her this was not ok. Here's the thing, some people go into the same bathroom together, others might never do that but that's none of our business. If Dollar Tree as a business wants to put a sign on their door saying "only one person at a time," that's fine. What I'm not ok with is these employees yelling and being so rude to our teens. They are people too. She could have politely told them, only one person was allowed in the restroom at a time instead of scolding them and talking down to them. I just have no desire to give them my business and will never go back to that store. read more

I went there for a balloon and when we walked in it was super dirty and one of the staff members wasn't wearing her mask and was sneezing when we asked for her assistance she was really rude and was yelling at us and giving us a really hard time she even refused to blow up the balloon and again NOT WEARING HER MASK !
