Luckily, The Painted Attic started opening on Sundays and Mondays back in May. This is the exact place I dream of when it comes to antiquing. Inside this 1895 white Victorian home there are 14 vendors selling anything from Pyrex and Corningwear to cast iron, paintings, and used clothing. The owner and his two cats were super friendly and helpful. If you love the thrill of the antique hunt and vintage homes, this is the stop for you. They rotate items regularly, too!

Unfortunately, there seems to be a consistent lack of customer service, consideration, and basic empathy. During my most recent visit, the woman I spoke with...who had glasses and shoulder length hair...was in the middle of making soap, which I understood she couldn't immediately stop. However, when I explained what I was looking for, instead of offering assistance or even a bit of understanding, I felt completely brushed off. This same dismissive attitude has been present every time I've visited. Because of these repeated experiences, I will no longer be a customer, and I won't be recommending this business to anyone...

There were only a sprinkling of items on sale (like a few T-shirts, sunglasses, and some miscellaneous items), so still a bit to check out. More than retail, it seems the place is now more of an artsy crafty place than a retail store. The entire place looked bigger...more space, since less retail. I thought they should have had some overhead music to fill the empty space, and give it more of a vibe. They still had this bar area, where they served wine (aside from the Jackass Cafe in the back). Still, I love the big, wide, open space that this place has to offer...and its Bohemian vibe. And did I mention their awesome artwork on their walls - both inside and out? I left the store thinking I should partake in their jewelry making on my next visit!

Other than a few sections, I found this store to be well stocked and clean. The parking lot cart corrals were cleared. The greeter was present and actually greeted me as I walked in. I found the stuff I was looking for easily enough and the things I'm usually challenged to purchase as my store, were here. A specific brand of cat litter, olive oil and my preferred brand of toothpaste. It's just so much cheaper at Walmart than getting them shipped from Amazon. It's hard to believe that I'm writing a positive, almost glowing, review of a Walmart. I guess I'm just used to my local store being so awful.
