Although I don't come to the dollar tree much anymore since the prices have gone up, this store was organized pretty well and had good selections. Quality/Quantity - Sadly, I am not a customer any more, and I was a very loyal customer. One of the last few "dollar" stores that stayed at $1. Then $1.25. And now $1+... But they rarely have the stuff I need. Atmosphere - Good size location, except too bad they have nothing I want or need any more. Plenty of mall parking. Now that I am a Winco customer, this would have been a convenient location. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm daily, except on Sundays from 10am to 9pm. Service - N/A. Price - Not a $ any more. Not predictable any more. And not well marked... Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1953 with 15,288+ locations (8000 of which are Dollar Trees). I did not know that Family Dollar "merged" with you in 2021. Sooo after getting ourselves a puppy earlier in the am it was a must to go pick up some little items for the little ! The service was good. The two cashiers were very friendly. One assisted another as I assume she was newer. They have a small little pet section so my girls and their friend who also got a new puppy picked some really cute things. This store is the saddest and nastiest store in Reno. If I wanted disorganization I would go to Ross, Marshals and/or Burlington. Boxes stacked in the isles, you can't even get a shopping cart through. Employee workload is too high. The employees are so ashamed and stressed that they can't even look you in the eye. The restroom was falling apart, wall busted in behind the door, no legitimate locks, no toilet paper holder. One cashier, two or three floor employees. People waiting in line were very irritated because other cash registers would not open. The selection was okay, I guess. A little too disorganized and dirty to see what was really going on. My daughter found a lot of toys, coloring books, stickers... She was much more willing to dig through the chaos than I was. The prices for kid's items seemed reasonable. There's no saving money with the snacks, candy, name brand soaps, soda, hotdogs, bologna, soup, side dishes. All of those items are better priced next door at Winco. Their "cold drink" refrigerator in the front of the store is broken. I was NOT given a receipt. I will not be returning. read more

Older female checker having issues with register and the manager that responded was very rude to this employee and reprimanded her in front of all the customers. Shame on you. I'm no fan of having to use public restrooms, but when nature calls its do or die lol. I have a new medical condition I'm dealing with that I sought their restroom and was met with a locked door. No signage, so I thought I should approach the front to ask for a key for restrooms. One of the cashier ladies said they do not have public restrooms anymore. I looked at her dumbfounded. "No restrooms for your shoppers?" and she just shook her head "no, we don't have restrooms for the public anymore..." I set my (full) basket down and walked out. I had no choice but to go next door to Winco to use their's and truthfully I didn't truly need the items I came here for, not especially after this. Way to care for your customers. I don't really care if there were others who ruined it for the rest of us why you keep your customers from using your restrooms but it's not only very inconvenient, but for those of us with medical conditions, it's highly frustrating. The store is unkept and dirty anyway. I've been to nicer and better organized Dollar Trees both in town and in California. This store location in no way is making a good look for itself. read more

I went to this dollar tree store this week as I often do. This is the first time I saw the store fully stocked, and well organized. Lots of staff, finally, loading up the shelves. I don't know how they treat the staff or how the corporation treats the managers but kindness goes a very long way for moral and profits. read more

Biggest pet peeve is when stores close early especially when they don't put a note on the door and let people know they closed early. It's 8:30, no sign on the door, all the lights on, doors locked so you walk up to the door assuming they're open cause it's during business hours and instead you just look like an idiot pulling on the door. read more

If you frequent the different dollar stores in town you know they have some things in common and others that are quite different. I noticed that this store has some inventory priced $3 to $5 which is surprising and nice to see. This has become one of my preferred stores. read more

I haven't been in a Dollar Tree in years, but I heard you could find some hidden gems so I decided to venture into one. I will say, the store was a complete mess when I went in. And honestly, I can see why. They only had two workers that day. One was stocking and one was running the register, so I don't blame the staff at all. In fact, the employee that rang me up at the register was extremely kind! I did end up finding some hidden stars in all of the mess. They have tons of Tupperware and organization bins. Plus tons of cleaning products as well as seasonal items. Don't let the mess fool you, you can't actually find some great stuff! read more

Not sure what people expect when going to a Dollar Tree, but I just go for the $1 items. Browsing for some DIY wedding projects, this is the closest Dollar Tree to me, so I decided to check this one out. Easy parking, masks still "required". I went on a weekend so they seemed low in stock of everything. No biggie. Staff are doing their best to keep the place decently tidy while ringing up waves of customers. We only needed a few things shortly before they closed it was about 845 as we walked into the store there was a lady on the intercom stating that the store closed at nine. We were in and out by the time we got to our car the lady at the register had came and locked the door before 9 o'clock. In the eight minutes that the store had closed the store early five other people had to rush to the door to probably be in and out just as quickly as we were. Not to mention watching store associates leave at 8:59 I thought you closed at nine shouldn't you still be inside? Give people an inch and they want to take a mile next thing you know your store is going to be closing an hour early or 30 minutes early and you're not even gonna know it so yeah show up and open up that locked door. read more

I went here on 10/21/24 around 5pm. They had 5 employees on the floor with one cashier - when I asked if the girl that was literally standing at her register if she was open she promptly said "no" with, of course, an attitude. I then proceeded to say that they had four employees on the floor but one line open - she then raised her voice and said "we aren't standing around doing nothing!" Then, what I am assuming is the floor manager, loudly replied saying "who said that?" At this point, I'm in line in the only one open, and the manager then proceeds to, quite loudly with many in store, tell me I am being rude and disrespectful for saying they weren't standing around. I let this manager know that I did not say they were just standing around nor did I come to the dollar store to argue. She then proceeded to say that I "gotta leave the store after my transaction" which is generally what one would do after their purchase....i guess she intended to kick me out for expressing a complaint. The two employees seemed very abrasive, very confrontational, not at all professional and seemed like they wanted to fight. I've never seen any retailer retort back with such attitude, I was frankly surprised. I understand that sometimes there are store duties to complete, however, there is a time and place, there is a way to speak to people in general let alone customers - these two ladies seem like they don't like their job. There are plenty of other dollar stores and even a WinCo right next door that have the same products for sometimes the same price! I would advise going anywhere but here unless you want to be met with attitude problems. read more

Came here for cheap gardening tools and that's what I got. Shopping: Dollar Tree has a large variety of merchandise ranging from makeup to cooking utensils. They don't have a gardening section so I picked up gloves in the auto department and a hand shovel in the pet department. I didn't purchase exactly what I wanted but it's a dollar store and I don't want to spend a lot of money on gloves and tools so I made the best with what was sold in the store. I gave the store 3 stars because it's messy with merchandise on the floor and items in the wrong area. Just because it's a Dollar Store doesn't mean it has to look bad. Price: fantastic! Everything is a dollar! Bought Mother's Day cards for a dollar. These cards can be as expensive as $8. The quality of the greeting cards are the same as other big box retailers. Customer Service: there was only one clerk in the store who was at the cash register. It wasn't easy getting help which is part of the reason I'm giving the store 3 stars. One person at the register and another on the sales floor would have improved the customer service experience for me. Would be easier to ask questions and obtain help. Location: it's next door to WinCo in a shopping plaza so there's a ton of parking! If you want a couple of items at a low price, this is a decent place to shop. read more

I went to Dollar Tree this week and heard an elderly couple ask to use the restroom and was shocked when I heard the cashier refuse to give them the key forcing them to leave to find a restroom without finishing their shopping. I was upset and asked why we're no longer allowed to use the restroom and they said they didn't know why. This is despicable. So if you're elderly, have children or bladder/bowel problems avoid this Dollar Tree in the future. read more

Some places may have bad customer service because so many businesses are shortstaffed but I just had great customer service from Name Nikolai the cashier. He was so helpful so friendly.. best customer service .. Yes a lot of things may seem like a mess some shelves may be empty but I was looking for a certain item and he went out of his way to go see if it was something that he may find in the back before he told me that he was unable to find it. you don't find that kind of customer service anymore some people would say if you don't see it we don't have it but he at least made an effort to look for the item I was looking for. read more

The thing I love is they have holidays stuff, party items, toys, food, cleaning materials, teachers spot, animal items, baskets, and more. I could always get items from the store! We go here when we need certain items of less than standard quality. Wrapping a gift? Hit up the Dollar Tree. Need some last minute suction cups to hold up a shower sponge? Hit up the Dollar Tree. Want to kill yourself slowly with some of the most processed and bad food/drink on the planet? Hit up the Dollar Tree!! This one is kept up pretty well. Not as well as some are, but much better than some I have been in. I know, what should one expect from the 5 and Dime of the 21st century. Every once in a while you can find a real treasure here, something that should NOT be sold for a buck, but for some reason it is. Busy toys for parties can be gotten here for a song too. The lines can get a little long despite the price being the same on every item. So don't get pissed if you get there and the line takes a few minutes to disappear, just nod your head and say..."Robert told me this would happen." and then smile at the world around you. Parking is plentiful and wide open. But again beware, there are lots of running late moms getting dinner supplies next door at Winco..so cars can get speedy going through this lot. Who doesn't love a store where everything is only a dollar?! This is a GREAT place to buy party supplies if you're on a budget. They have TONS of super cute gift bags for any occasion. I'd say skip Wal-Mart for gift bags, and come here. I promise you'll find something you love. They also have cute wrapping paper for little kids (i.e. Elmo) and the clear or decorated cellophane that are sized perfectly for Easter Baskets or Christmas treat plates. I came here and got everything I needed to fill our son's birthday party treat bags for all the kids. They have several kinds of treat bags, and tons of fun stuff for them. I put "Go, Diego Go" bubbles, Toy Story 3 Stickers, punch balloons, Disney Memory Card Games, and a couple pieces of candy. I grabbed a roll of curly ribbon to tie them closed, and the kids loved them! Another awesome thing: They have a balloon center. They have a pretty good range of balloons and they last a LONG time. Last year we ordered our son's balloons from Party America and they started dropping by the end of the party. This year we had to special order Blues Clues balloons online and other places wanted to charge me to fill the balloons up. I asked the manager at Dollar Tree and she very kindly offerred to fill them at no cost. The balloons were STILL floating over a month later. Finally, I decided to just pop them so we could get them out of the dining room. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 for one reason. Their return policy is more of an exchange policy. They will not issue refunds. They SAY you can return items if you don't use them- but what they really mean is: You can bring them back, and we'll give you store credit in that amount. You won't get your money back, you'll be able to exchange the item for another item. So if you buy too many table covers for a party, and want to return the ones you didn't open- you won't get your money refunded, you'll get an exchange. read more

We go in here a lot. Why I do not know other than my sister enjoys her haunts and this is one of them. Ever time I am on here I look at something and ask my sister, how much is this? It of course is a dollar but for some reason I can not get that through my head. There is a whole lot of stuff to look over some interesting some not. A bunch of essentials for a household and things I can not for the life of me figure why anyone would want. But over all it is a clean store, friendly employees and some good bargains. read more

When I know I'm looking for something particular I always ask an employee for help. This visit it was squirt bottles and manila envelopes. All of the employees are so helpful and polite. I was led to the exact location of my items which helped get me in and out in a matter of minutes. On a day filled with errands this is very much appreciated! I was in this store to look for a cheap dog leash. I went up to get in line. No cashier anywhere. The couple in the head of the line said the lady cashier was in the back of the store in the inventory room looking for dishwashing soap. Literally 15 min later she comes back telling the 8 people now in line that she was sorry. She was trying to help find soap??!! Really? So we all stood there, store was getting busy. She was telling everyone she had no help. She said the shelves wouldn't be stocked until Tuesday. I asked if it was store policy to leave the front and disappear for 15 min? She started arguing with me telling she was helping a customer to make them happy. She knew she was wrong, but she kept arguing. Well, up to this point she had many unhappy customers. Two walked out so two sales lost. Some guy in line had to jump in to defend her and of course he was a total ass and the fight was on. He said something about my innocent granddaughter that was quiet up until then. She defended herself. What a mess! Embarrassing and uncalled for. If she would have stayed there this would never would have happened. NEVER going back. It pays to go to the better stores where there is always help. Terrible customer service!
