It's quite fun, and while this year it was unusually freezing (I saw frozen sea foam), it was sunny and bright. While Lion was defrosting himself we decided to check out the local thrift scene...only to discover that most of the local thrift scene is closed on Sundays. Understandably, it's a beach town in winter. Unfinished Business was open so we headed there. The store is a little obscured from DE Route 1, there's a Panera Bread in front of their building and part of the building is a self storage company so unless you turn on the side street you will be looking at the next shopping center over and not finding it. It's like a treasure hunt for treasure. It's not a large store, however it was clean and what they had was reasonably well displayed, in the style of a retail store. They had some lovely clothing and housewares, at reasonable, but not bargain, prices. I did find a fantastic oversized fisherman style wool sweater, the kind you really need to wear a long sleeve shirt under 'cause it's kinda itchy but divinely warm, and a few knick nacks. Sheba found some clothes and a cool mug. The staff were friendly, though they mostly left us to do our browsing. Parking is easy, there's a large free private lot out front. This is a nice place for someone on vacation, or maybe outfitting a beach house, to pick things up, benefits some local charities, however it's not a stop for the thrift or bargain hunter.

I wasn't in the mood to stop at a gas station or drug store, so with little other time to make a decision I just pulled in here. What I like most about this location is that it is a smaller Walmart. I really appreciated that they didn't allow for them to build a superstore here and most likely shutter some local stores. I mean, this is a beach destinations and what would be a beach vacation without those local shops to get your items. You really don't want to have to go to Walmart to grab everything. With it being smaller the layout of the store was a bit off. They attempted to stuff this spot with everything you would find in a Walmart Supercenter and failed miserably. By doing so the flow of products just didn't work. You want crackers, look here first, but just to mess with you a bit, we will continue to the aisle behind you at the end of the aisle. With it being smaller, as well, this place can get quite congested. Which does not make for a good shopping experience. The register area is a mess as well. What's irritating is that this is a bag free store, unless you purchase a reusable bag. I wish I would have known that because I would have brought some in with me from my vehicle. Instead I had to juggle my items until I got to my vehicle.

This Walmart is not a Supercenter. This store does have the clothing, personal care, pet supplies,…read moreelectronics, sporting goods and housewares like other Walmart stores. But it has a very limited grocery section with no fresh produce, limited frozen, no deli and no meats. Even the dairy is limited. What they do have was somewhat well stocked but the shelves were missing cold drinks, bread and I never did manage to find the cheese. I managed to park the Sprinter van here overnight. I was at the front side of the lot near the dumpster by Wendy's. [Review 18191 overall - 108 in Delaware - 1713 of 2022.]

The shoes had prices on the bottom, but dresses and other clothing did not have price tags just barbs. I didn't see any signs detailing item prices so to not have clothing priced was frustrating as a customer. The housewares were all price marked. Shoes were marked as well, but in my opinion, they were high for a thrift store. 2) They literally turned the lights out on us to get us to leave. It was literally 6:03 (they closed at 6) and instead of letting us know they were officially closed, they turned the lights off on us and locked us in. What kind of business does that? Very ignorant way of doing business. And then the girl watched us struggle to unlock the door and had the nerve to say Have a good night as we left. Really? I will never return to a place that treats potential customers like that!

However last times we went there, the woman was very rude. Firstly she started throwing shirts I'd donated on the floor in front of my husband although they were in prime condition. then she wrote a description of what we donated calling it a "small bag of clothing". The bag was monster sized - I could barely lift it. also they stopped having senior discount on Tuesdays, and were very terse when I asked about it. And lastly they stopped dealing with books.
