The shopping experience here is fine for a discount home goods store. What left a sour feeling was the attitude of a cashier named Niesha. She said the right words according to some script or instruction she received. But her tone and unnecessarily high volume was pretty poor. Enough that her male coworker was distracted by it. People have bad days, but she should be careful about how she represents herself and the store she works in. Plenty of people would be pretty happy to have her job. read more

Full disclosure: I was accompanying my dear spouse and am not known as a solo Home Goods shopper. We were in Rehoboth Beach for New Year's weekend and my wife wanted to drop in. This is by far the Home Goods with the largest inventories of other such stores which we've frequented. The store probably needs to be 150% larger to accommodate what it currently holds. If you have a yen for something for your home or are looking for gift ideas, definitely visit here, but ideally arrive shortly after the store opens. I suppose there is some sort of rhyme and reason as to how items are displayed, but I haven't figured it out. They have whatever goods you might need or want for a home, hence the ingenious name. Things are kinda a mess, but that's likely due to the plethora of shoppers rearranging items, and a hard working staff unable to keep ahead of them. The prices are reasonable, and the items of good quality. I can definitely understand why my wife likes it so, and judging the the chronically full parking lot, so do many others! read more

Well we had a Christmas tree on hold for almost 45 minutes. Yeah we left for 45 mins and they couldn't save the tree. I would have loved that tree as if I had grown it myself. Really would have gotten over that really easily if their manager Pam, yes you Pam hadn't just shunned us and "sorry about your lucked" us. Pam decided that the 30 second response was enough for people who were about to drop a few hundred bucks there. Guess we weren't that important to Pan, or Pam I think. I need to report an incident of an employee Neisha Shaw at Home Goods, location 34170 Citizens Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. Home Goods at this location used to be my favorite store until today. The cashier Neisha Shaw made sure that I had the most HORRIBLE and RACIST experience ever in my life. She is the most racist, rude, and unprofessional person I have ever met. As an immigrant in the US for many years, I have friends across cultures and races - I love this country's diversity and inclusiveness, but this person is on the opposite side of all of these. It all started as we visited the store on to return one product and shop a few more others. First, she didn't greet us at all when we said "how are you". But I thought that's okay, maybe she just had a busy day. Second, when she started processing the return, I told her that it didn't come with a price tag when we bought it. She pretended that she didn't understand my English, turned to my boyfriend and asked "What did she say?" So my boyfriend repeated my words. She rolled her eyes, shrug her shoulder, stepped away and said "That's not possible!" I felt very weird at the moment. But again I made excuse for her that she might have a rough day. But seriously? She just treated me like trash and was so rude. She was basically indicating "You are lying." When we checked out the product there was indeed no tag attached, so one cashier ran back to the shelve and found a similar product to price. Her third attack happened when she stepped back and told us that the refund is at half of the price we paid because now the product is on sale. I asked why wouldn't we get the full refund since we bought it at its full price. She ignored me the second time and told my boyfriend "She can only get 50% refund back." Until this moment, I am certain that not only she is rude, she is also very racist. So I told her that I am standing right here, and I speak English. She immediately yelled "No one talks to me like that! I don't want to deal with you!" This was her third attack. I asked her what part of my English that she didn't understand or if she didn't want to talk to me because I am Asian, not American. She fired back talking to another cashier and said out loud that "I can't deal with her. She is driving me crazy." This is was her fourth attack. She still insisted that she was correct and I was wrong at the refund price. I showed her the receipt again. She ignored me the fourth time. She asked for help to another cashier as she was incompetent to process the refund. Another employee solved out the full refund and apologized to me for the inconvenience. I think that perfectly proved that my English is understandable to a cashier at the store. I felt extremely humiliated and discriminated in the busy store in front of a long line of other customers. I left the store and cried out immediately. Because of this traumatic experience, I will not ever return to the Lewes Home Goods. Neither my family, friends, or I will be returning. I have always believed and acknowledged that people are different and people who work at store fronts probably have even more challenges and difficulties dealing with various customers everyday. So I always try to be kind and appreciate service workers. But this time, it's the employee from TJX who really hurts their customer. I was treated rudely, trashy and discriminately. I know TJX stands with diversity and inclusiveness, and promotes this on their website and socials. This person Neisha Shaw is against all the values in which TJX promotes. read more

This is a very clean store, with everything you would need for the house. Well, almost everything. I really like this store. It's so much fun, because they have such a huge variety on things to buy. However, this location, in particular, did not have what I was looking for. I was looking for water bottles for my dogs, and they did not have any. But, they had almost everything else for the pets. Why just the water bottles they could not have? Oh well. At least this store is moderately priced, and the variety is good. This store is from the same owner as Marshalls and T J Maxx. Which are also great stores. I also went to Marshalls, and I was able to find a few things that I needed. Because, I had a Marshalls near me where I am in Delaware. There was no T J Maxx near me. I might go back to Marshalls where I could find everything i needed. read more

I shop in here regularly, more so now: at long last the god-awful parking lot bottle neck is relieved by the exit on the southbound lane by Lefty's. This store serves an odd market: a combination of affluent vacation home owners, retirees and locals who range from modest spending farmers, service sector employees, medical field employees and a sprinkling of everything else. In summer, it swells to 500% due to visitors. Good luck with that one, business school grads. Tip: if its busy, come at dinner time or 1 hour before close. Thats the only time I bother to go in. Period. One last thing, avoid the Cynthia Rowley towels. I bought 12 identical towels for guest bathrooms and they do not hold up under careful washing. I have never EVER encountered this in my life, being no spring chicken. I purchase all the same kind for aesthetic reasons and design necessity as some show in the bathroom (see photos). Other than that of you accept that this is a smaller store than the one you have elsewhere, you won't be disappointed. Commercial real estate rentals are limited and prime locations have been dominated by gas stations and markets. Enjoy! read more

Absolutely love homegoods! Come here often and never really leave empty handed whether it is for family members, friends or ourselves. However, made a recent expensive purchase and the woman asked if we wanted to donate to help those in need & we declined, even though every other time we are asked, we say yes. Yes, we did spend a lot but before judging someone, please understand that we volunteer our time working with a local charity without pay, as well as fulfill wish lists for christmas every year for children and the elderly, instead of buying each other gifts. Please just know that not everyone is a jerk for not donating every time and try not to look upset when people decline because you don't know their reasoning. read more

What happen to this store? I used to like shopping there, but lately it looks like a junk store, every aisle is very very cluttered .

I was in the store today September 4 2015 and saw two customers with their dogs on leashes walking around the store. Very unsanitary especially since they sell packaged food and also not good for customers who have dog allergies. Their policy is they can have a dog sit on a blanket in the cart but neither had done that. I personally would not want my items in a cart that previously had a dog in it.The Manager may not have been aware of this. read more
