Best place for Thrifting! You can find virtually everything there from gifts to puzzles to books to lamps to furniture and it's super cheap!

I guess I'll start with my only bum about this place and that is that it's not open on the weekends, which is when most of us have time to go or in the area. If you do get the chance to go when it is open, they have a great selection of every type of odds and ends. Nothing particularly extravagant or crazy special but I went with my mom and we weren't expecting to actually buy anything and both came out having spent some money with things wethings. We were very happy with. everyone who works there is so nice and they're doing this for a great cause as volunteers. read more

This is one of the cheapest thrift stores in the Delaware shore area. The items they sell are mostly of good quality. I've made some real interesting finds here. But...make sure you add up in your head the cost of what you are buying, the people who tend cashier very often make mistakes (and sometimes big one--I once bought "10 books for 1 dollar" and ended up paying $10--didn't realize the mistake till I got home). Pack some patience as sometimes the employees are crabby too. I don't know why the one review says they aren't open on weekends. The only time I've been there is on Saturday mornings. read more

I have known Atlantic Community Thrift Store since it started in a white house back in thr 90's and have gone from being a donator to volunteeting there. The organization is extremely well run by many vilunteers/ and they are always looking for more volunteers-to help. I enjoy my time there, the people I work with are hard working and pleasant to be with. I look forward to the time I am there. i have frequented a lot of thrift shops and I have yet to find one better run and with more helpful staff. A definte huge benefit for the community and the outreach it does. read more

Large selection of everything. So much fun with friend. Spent time browsing. I didn't need anything but for a day trip of fun.

Very short hours and they seem to change them pretty often, so check online (if that's accurate). People line up at the door to get in before they open. Cheaper than Goodwill, and a pretty big place, too. The women's shoes aren't very good quality, but everything else, especially the men's casual/sweatshirts and jackets section and the kid's section, is pretty good. The people who work there can either be super kind and friendly or really nasty, it's a toss-up. The parking lot tends to be kind of a mess, so drive carefully and watch for people in all directions, cars, and people hauling furniture around. You'll probably wait in line to check out longer than you're in the store itself, and I always find a couple little mugs or knick-knacks that I definitely don't need but also definitely want when I'm standing around. Overall a good place, but not anywhere I'd go out of my way to get to if I wasn't already more or less in the area. read more

ACTS thrift store is great. They have a large selection of women, mens and children's clothing at a very reasonable price. They also have numerous other items for babies and children. They have many miscellaneous items too. They also have a lot of furniture too. The staff that I dealt with several times that I was there were all very helpful, courteous and aimed to please. Went there for the first time couldn't find prices on anything, asked workers they couldn't help me, one said she didn't know only was a bagger. On checkout I was told the prices by a not no nice woman. Asked about going outside to any other buildings & she as much as yelled to me only the furniture building. Even if they are just volunteers they should think why they're helping to help others or just stay home. Only decent one I talked with was a man sitting in the furniture bldg, very helpful. read more

I have been donating to this location for the past few months. I have had numerous occasions to become offended by the volunteers comments or attitudes, but I have chosen to take the high road and remember why I am donating to this location in the first place and that is to be able to give back to my local community. I know that volunteers are volunteers, but I suggest that you get rid of the cold-hearted, rude ones. You know who they are and they are trying steal the joy of giving from those of us who donate quality items to you. We live in an area where many people have retired and moved here, so you do not need to keep them. There are plenty of happy, compassionate people to take their place. read more

I wanted to see if this store is open for donations. The site has a message saying to call directly because hours may have changed due to the Coronavirus. I tried calling but the phone just rang and rang until it finally disconnected... I went through the trouble of looking it up on the internet and then following the instructions to call. I have heard about so many excellent finds and treasures here. I drove 4 hours to get there before they closed. Long story short- because of traffic I didn't get there until 1130. They close at noon. I thought great I can do a quick scan of the store and zero in on what I like. Went I pulled into the parking lot, looking for a place to park, I rolled down the window in the back of the building where you drop off items /enter the store a mature white female with medium to long dark brown hair screamed at me they were no longer allowing people to enter shouted at me and said we're closed! I said to her I drove for 4 hours to get here and the time the store closes was at noon. She replied well you will have to come back another day. We stop letting people in 20 minutes before closing. I just shook my head and said maybe that should be put out on the website so people are aware. She gave me a mean nasty look. Couldn't care in the least how far I traveled. Never have I met someone who was a volunteer who was so rude, lacked compassion or empathy. Please get rid of her! read more

For some reason this place has bad reviews on here, but honestly this is my favorite thrift store, and if you are looking for a cheap place to find good items, I highly recommend. The clothes here are super cheaply priced as well as all of there other items. The only thing I'd say if the furniture is a bit overpriced but still descent. The volunteers here are super through and do a great job, all of their electronics are tested before they put them on the floor (something even goodwill doesn't do) and all the clothes and racks are routinely looked through and cleaned up. If any clothes are found with major/noticeable damage they take them off the floor and donate them to a goodwill outlet up (a place where secondhand items are sold by the pound and not by item). Even volunteers are treated really well here, I've volunteered a few times for volunteer hours for school and they offer all students that volunteer a scholarship if they volunteer 50 hours. They also donate a lot to the local schools and this past year donated a bunch of items to IR's drama department for their production of Guys and Dolls. And their new COVID 19 procedures are great, everyone must wear a mask, everyone is given hand sanitizer as they enter, and they restrict the amount of people (30) allowed in per every half an hour, and if that time slot reaches 30, then they start handing out tickets for the next available time. read more

Sorry to say that after donating hundreds of dollars worth of items to this thrift store, I need to give them a poor review. This is due to the staff who receives donations. They are rude and never even provide a "thank you" for selecting ACTS over others in the area who use the money they generate from the sale of donated goods for equally good works. Their attitude was best demonstrated in a conversation I just overheard between two volunteers. One was complaining about a person who had just donated some items and had commented on her rudeness. In response, the other said "we are volunteers and not paid so we don't have to be nice." Yes you do if you want repeat donations. read more

Insanely rude volunteers. If you want to be yelled at this is the place to come to! They openly bash on customers who are eager to find clothes, saying "jeez these people are crazy"...just plain rude. Many of the regulars who come here are struggling and the thrift store is a cheap place to find clothes, they just see the customers as annoying. In general, the volunteers have absolutely no manners. I've heard everything from "get out of my way MOVE" to "shooing" a little kid away and saying "MOM come get your kid out of here, don't have kids if you can't take care of them". Not to mention that it's a known fact they literally shove crowds of customers 10 minutes before they close...and quite aggressively too. Stay a second after 11:50 and one of the volunteers will inevitably come face to face with you and yell at you that the store is closing and you need to get in line. Honestly, there are so many instances that I cannot put it into a single review (they like to use slurs too). But seriously- you shouldn't be a volunteer and then be complaining the entire time. Please leave and let new volunteers come!! 99% of the bad reviews from this place come from the attitudes of the workers (on google too). read more
