It's quite fun, and while this year it was unusually freezing (I saw frozen sea foam), it was sunny and bright. While Lion was defrosting himself we decided to check out the local thrift scene...only to discover that most of the local thrift scene is closed on Sundays. Understandably, it's a beach town in winter. Unfinished Business was open so we headed there. The store is a little obscured from DE Route 1, there's a Panera Bread in front of their building and part of the building is a self storage company so unless you turn on the side street you will be looking at the next shopping center over and not finding it. It's like a treasure hunt for treasure. It's not a large store, however it was clean and what they had was reasonably well displayed, in the style of a retail store. They had some lovely clothing and housewares, at reasonable, but not bargain, prices. I did find a fantastic oversized fisherman style wool sweater, the kind you really need to wear a long sleeve shirt under 'cause it's kinda itchy but divinely warm, and a few knick nacks. Sheba found some clothes and a cool mug. The staff were friendly, though they mostly left us to do our browsing. Parking is easy, there's a large free private lot out front. This is a nice place for someone on vacation, or maybe outfitting a beach house, to pick things up, benefits some local charities, however it's not a stop for the thrift or bargain hunter.

Bottom Line: The best shop in Lewes with a wide variety of goodies…read more I love this store! It is much bigger than it looks from the outside and super eclectic. To me visiting The Brush Factory on Kings is more like an experience or treasure hunt than shopping given its sprawling layout and variety of vendors and merchandise. I enjoyed meandering through the space weaving from room to room and ducking into various stalls and booths. Here are some of the items I admired on my initial visit to give readers and idea of all this retail space has to offer: - Seasonal items like pumpkins and gourds and Christmas ornaments - A wide variety of succulents - Fresh local produce and flowers - Vintage items like scales and typewriters perfect for decorating - Jewelry, soaps, candles, lotions and other items great for gift giving - Local tshirts and cozy sweaters - Antique furniture and crafty painted furniture - Architecture salvage like corbels and windows - Nautical pieces like paintings, buoys and oars - A cool line of Fusion mineral paints for DIY projects - Plenty of locally owned items The wide variety of items is credited to the various merchants and artists who sell there wares and art at The Brush Factory on Kings. I'd estimate that there are at least 50 sellers represented here. Along with the variety of items there is a variety of price points. Overall, this is a great place and I wish I loved closer. I also wish I had taken more pictures to help spread the word about this unique and mesmerizing small, local business.

The Brush Factory in Lewes has all things beautiful to transform your house into a home. There is…read moresome furniture such as a few tables and some chairs, but a cornucopia of decorative items from which to choise to make your home as unique as you are. Wall decorations, frames, and much, much more. I'll attach some photos below. You may experience some sticker shock, but quality and pretty beats cheap every day. There is a vegetable, grocery store attached, however I am unfamiliar with the affiliation, if any. The parking lot is tight and trying to turn left whilst exiting can be a challenge, so might be better to go along side the building or in the rear where spots are generally available. Check out my photos and then come check it out!
