I visited The Brush Factory on Kings Highway in Lewes, Delaware, on Friday, September 5, 2026. I…read morehave always loved your store, have purchased merchandise there, and have often brought friends and family in to shop. Unfortunately, my experience during this visit has completely changed the way I feel about your business. I am a pancreatic cancer survivor, and as a result, I occasionally experience sudden stomach issues that are completely unpredictable and beyond my control. When this happens, having immediate access to a restroom is not a convenience--it can be an absolute necessity. During my visit, I was experiencing such an emergency. I approached the employees at the register and, despite feeling extremely embarrassed and vulnerable, explained my situation and respectfully asked if I could please use the store's restroom. I understood that your store policy is the restroom is not for public use, and I would not have asked if I were not experiencing a genuine emergency. I was refused. I was told that the store had previously allowed customers to use the restroom and that on some occasions, employees were left with a mess to clean up. I understood that those experiences may have been frustrating, but I was standing there asking for help during a medical-related emergency. I assured the employees that I was not going to abuse the privilege, yet I was still told no and had to walk to the next building desperately looking for a restroom. I cannot adequately express how humiliating and upsetting that experience was. It was difficult enough to have to ask for help in such a vulnerable situation, but being refused when I was clearly in distress was incredibly disappointing. Businesses certainly have the right to establish policies, but I hope you will consider whether there should be some discretion for genuine emergencies--particularly when someone explains that they are dealing with a medical condition. A little compassion in that moment would have made an enormous difference. I have been a loyal customer and someone who has recommended your store to friends and family. Sadly, after this experience, I will no longer be visiting The Brush Factory, nor will I be recommending it to others. I sincerely hope you reconsider how situations like this are handled in the future. No customer should have to feel ashamed or humiliated for asking for help when they are experiencing an unexpected medical emergency.

Amazing store, worth the visit! Tons of items to see. Art, clothes, house wares, jewelry, and even…read morea little farmers market. I was really impressed with the selection! You could easily spend over an hour here. It's open air, but has tons of vendors so make sure to stop and see all there is. It was crowded but if you have time and patience, you can get to see all you want. This is definitely on my must stop list when visiting the beach now.

- Hi end women's clothing with designer labels at incredibly low prices. When I say incredibly low,…read moresome days you can get designer shirts for four dollars. Same with designers shorts. All are very gently used. They don't seem to accept anything that's been well worn. Unlike other thrift stores all clothing seems to have been dry cleaned or well washed /ironed before being accepted. There's also a wide variety of sizes from petite up to 2X. Today I was able to get 8 dress shirts for my daughter who started a new full-time job all for $30. This is a cost-effective way for her to shop and look great until she's making better money. For myself, as I have been dropping weight and not wanting to invest a fortune in a new wardrobe just yet I was happy to purchase six blouses and three skirts for $54. While we were there I saw a couple dining room sets come in and a sofa and love seat combination all of which although a few years old we're totally free of any marks, stains or scratches. Speaking with people who shop there regularly they told me all of those items would be gone that day because they will be priced right. For people visiting the Rehobeth area there were a ton of bikes outside and little kids trikes all priced exceptionally well. Did you forget beach towels? Well they have them here cheap. Are you checking into an apartment for the weeks vacation and forgot to bring your sheets from home? Get them here! They are so cheap that you'll take them home and bring them back every year on vacation for your rental. And you'll be happy to shop here because you know that the money is going to a good cause.

One of my favorite thrift stores in Delaware. Almost all items are priced to sell. Great place…read morefor hunting for a great deal. A very friendly volunteer staff and a few paid staff.

I was not a fan of this thrift store…read more 1) The merchandise was not great, variety or pricing. The shoes had prices on the bottom, but dresses and other clothing did not have price tags just barbs. I didn't see any signs detailing item prices so to not have clothing priced was frustrating as a customer. The housewares were all price marked. Shoes were marked as well, but in my opinion, they were high for a thrift store. 2) They literally turned the lights out on us to get us to leave. It was literally 6:03 (they closed at 6) and instead of letting us know they were officially closed, they turned the lights off on us and locked us in. What kind of business does that? Very ignorant way of doing business. And then the girl watched us struggle to unlock the door and had the nerve to say Have a good night as we left. Really? I will never return to a place that treats potential customers like that!

We've become recently quite unhappy with the place and will take our thrift shop business elsewhere…read morein the future. we have always brought them a lot of nice items, and occasionally buy an item or two (mostly books, kitchen stuff). However last times we went there, the woman was very rude. Firstly she started throwing shirts I'd donated on the floor in front of my husband although they were in prime condition. then she wrote a description of what we donated calling it a "small bag of clothing". The bag was monster sized - I could barely lift it. also they stopped having senior discount on Tuesdays, and were very terse when I asked about it. And lastly they stopped dealing with books.
