Our salesman Jim was super helpful and gave us time and space to look at some settings. During this time my boyfriend was able to remind me that none of what I was looking at matched what I had told him previously. I honestly didn't expect to find a setting that I absolutely loved right there on the boardwalk, but nothing that I had seen so far even compared. We took time to talk it over during dinner and never felt the least bit pressured to return. However, we did return and this time sat down with Harry himself. He was so helpful and fun to speak with. He taught us so much about diamonds and how he creates his pieces. It really was an overall memorable experience. We left with the most gorgeous engagement ring less than 24 hours later. My boyfriend even said given his many experiences in the past few weeks with jewelers, this was by far his best. However, it's also used to raise prices. Harry disappointed me! It all started a couple of months ago, when I complained about being overcharged for setting one stone in a ring for my one daughter. I was in the jewelry business for many years and know the pricing. My example is simple, when I asked about a price for a rhodium job. The original price was $65.00 from the manager.Then I was told it would be $90.00. When I received a call the job was finished and went to pick it up, it was $95.00. Harry told me 2 days before that it would be $60 something because I was a regular customer. When I questioned it and told them about what Harry said, I find out that was only if I spent over $700.00 on my next repair. They will never see me again. I will save all my jewelry work for when I go back home to Pennsylvania! My recommendation to all who moved to this area, is shop around and get the price in writing!

The deal and timeline of the special price was ending that day or weekend and I knew not to pass it up. Before making the purchase, she educated my partner and I on various stones, cuts and clarity ratings. We knew we were in good hands. She advised me about the warranty plan which allows you to go into a store periodically and typically every 6 months to polish the stones, check the status of the setting and make any necessary repairs. Additionally, any resizing or shipping is included with the warranty without any extra cost. When my partner left the store, I decided to take the leap and make the purchase. I also knew that I wouldn't be back at that location after it was resized, so I requested that it be sent to a local store where I would be at the resizing time frame. Liz arranged all the details and took care of everything. Again it was a seamless process and I would definitely consider buying from Kay's and this location specifically in the future. I will be asking for Liz directly. She gave me her business card and will be in touch about the upcoming loose diamonds, stones and independent jeweler event around Valentine's Day 2016! I am a happy customer, who was treated with respect and dignity.
