There is a vegetable, grocery store attached, however I am unfamiliar with the affiliation, if any. The parking lot is tight and trying to turn left whilst exiting can be a challenge, so might be better to go along side the building or in the rear where spots are generally available. Lion, Sheba and I were in Rehobeth for the annual Polar Bear Plunge, where Lion runs headlong into…read morethe freezing water while Sheba and I stand on the beach with towels and a robe for him when he gets out. It's quite fun, and while this year it was unusually freezing (I saw frozen sea foam), it was sunny and bright. While Lion was defrosting himself we decided to check out the local thrift scene...only to discover that most of the local thrift scene is closed on Sundays. Understandably, it's a beach town in winter. Unfinished Business was open so we headed there. The store is a little obscured from DE Route 1, there's a Panera Bread in front of their building and part of the building is a self storage company so unless you turn on the side street you will be looking at the next shopping center over and not finding it. It's like a treasure hunt for treasure. It's not a large store, however it was clean and what they had was reasonably well displayed, in the style of a retail store. They had some lovely clothing and housewares, at reasonable, but not bargain, prices. I did find a fantastic oversized fisherman style wool sweater, the kind you really need to wear a long sleeve shirt under 'cause it's kinda itchy but divinely warm, and a few knick nacks. Sheba found some clothes and a cool mug. The staff were friendly, though they mostly left us to do our browsing. Parking is easy, there's a large free private lot out front. This is a nice place for someone on vacation, or maybe outfitting a beach house, to pick things up, benefits some local charities, however it's not a stop for the thrift or bargain hunter.

I once asked if they have/ever get a certain item in and both ladies working at the counter quickly snapped and said no. Like any antique store though, they do have some deals, but rarely. I am just really sad to see this and I really wish it was way better. I am totally good with giving them a second chance if they improve, as I would LOVE an antique store downtown that had some deals! It's a great place to walk around and just look, but it's very expensive for the average person. I would try other antique stores first.

I always go in with high hopes, and occasionally I'm rewarded with an amazing find, such as the absolute cutest, black-and-white beaded capri sweatsuit I've ever seen. I splurged on that one 2 years ago, and I've just been so happy with it. Beautifully made, and so unique. The problem is, their prices are very high, even for basic items. Expect to pay at least $50 for each piece of clothing, and usually over $100. Case in point, yesterday, near the door, there was a rack of gorgeous dresses with tie-died skirts. In any other boutique, this would cost maybe, at the highest, $40 or so, probably less. At Piccolino, they were in the $120 range. These are *sundresses* - nothing fancy. There's just no way I'm paying that, no matter how cute it is. The prices just seem unnecessarily inflated. Accessories have also been disappointing lately. At the old location, accessories were really the focus, given the smaller size of that location. Many appeared to be handmade, or at least very high quality, and clearly they were carefully selected to set just the right tone for the store. In recent years, the accessories appear to be just an afterthought - overpriced, poor quality, and uninteresting. Piccolino is much like a formerly cute cottage: a place that used to be tended to lovingly, but over the years has fallen into a state of sad disrepair, a place with so much wasted potential. This is a place that used to be one of those unique little 2nd St. Lewes gems that now is just as overpriced and generic as any other mainstream boutique in any other small town. I still go when I am in Lewes, hoping for the Piccolino of old, but so far, no luck.

The store has definitely grown in size and selection over the years. I first started shopping there in my early 20s and at first the store offered lots of accessories and cute "going out" pieces. Now, in my early 30s - the boutique offers lots more in its bigger space. I have so many things to choose from when I shop there - jewelry for fun and everyday wear, clothes for work, dresses for weddings, pieces for everything from the beach to a snow day, and cute things for my 1 year old daughter. I have purchased more quality handbags, clutches, HOBO wallets/bags, and UGGS than I'd ever tell my husband. Everything you find at Piccolino is quality merchandise, the owner is the sweetest person you could meet, and the ever present "guard" dog Lucy will make your day when you stop into this charming boutique!

They accept donations at the back door receiving zone. You will find furniture, clothes, artwork, linens, books, jewelry, dish-ware, kitchen supply, glass-ware.
