That alone is worth the membership. I also got their CC with the cash back and will be taking advantage of the plethora of discounts and cash back deals they have. Won't take much to get back the membership cost, keep my dry goods stocked, and my pantries and freezer full. But the best part of the experience was Josie at the membership desk. She was pure joy. She was friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and just provided the perfect guest experience. Everyone that works in customer service should have to shadow Josie for a day to learn what customer service should be. As a long time hospitality executive, someone who has written multiple training manuals and have given talks all over North America on service delivery, I know good customer service. Josie is a sterling example.

I think of the experience I had using Tervis. I have lots of Tervis Tumblers. I purchased them at Bed Bath and Beyond, The NHL Store, and online. My daughter gives them to me in all shapes and sizes. I like the drinking glasses with lids. I have three different sizes. At one time they had an office in NYC and I did a review. They have over 300 employees. They were founded in 1946 which is impressive and historic to me. When I had a Tervis Tumbler that leaked I had a live chat with a customer service representative. Before I knew two new lids were mailed to me. They keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. You can get them with your favorite teams logo. There's something for every age and in many sizes too. I just want to acknowledge this company that's been in business since 1946. When I like something I want everyone to know. Tervis Tumbler has engaged in campaigns to help reduce the use of disposable plastics. On September 27, 2018, the company gave away 10,000 reusable tumblers to customers who pledged to stop using disposable cups. They have a calendar in the front that shows their discounts for the day. The store was very clean. It doesn't smell dusty. In the front they have clothes for women, then men, they also have housewares, electronics, & furniture. It's very organized. I would definitely come back and spend more time here. Everyone was very nice and the prices seemed good especially with 50 percent off. Another faux flower arrangement I saw would have been $5 today and I definitely wanted to take it home.

Rave: do NOT leave the store with one of the new blueberry handpies. This is probably the best handpie I've ever had. I popped it in the airfryer and it came out so flaky and gooey. Not insanely sweet either. Wish I bought more of them. Ate it too quickly to get a photo so I looked one up, it's wrapped in parchment paper and in a basket next to the donuts.

Staff go out of their way to smile and ask if they can help, the selections are amaaaaazing, tons of LOCAL products, bulk products, a bakery that actually bakes their breads, and the cafe is fantastic (bowls, subs, soups, even lobster rolls!). They carry some organic products, and have "just okay" sales, mostly meat - although I got some beautiful avocados for .50. Today they're giving out ice cream cones for Labour Day. As a chain, it's a neat concept. This isn't a dollar store that has things way over a dollar, everything here truly is $5 or less. I really like that this is the only discount chain, that I am aware of, that has fitness items. Yoga mats, balance boards, hand weights and many of the apparel and accessories that go with it. That's neat and it's a cheap way to try out a new activity without dropping a lot of cash in case you hate it. They even have skateboards there! Every time I've gone into a location, I've badly wanted to buy the squares to build your own fitness floor. I have no idea why, I wouldn't use it, but I want it, lol. I see this chain as a healthy mix of a place to get last minute items you forgot about (phone chargers, birthday cards, Tupperware, games to keep the kids busy) and a place that gives you ideas on things you didn't realize you needed (lots of storage options, home décor, nifty gadgets like lights for dark corners, a variety of travel accessories). Now, how does this location stack up? Well, less shelves are full of merchandise here. Our visit was on a weekday morning, so that might have been a one off, but as I was looking for something I had previously purchased at another location, it really caught my attention. However, the staff here was really friendly and funny at the register, which is more engagement than I encounter at other locations, so they balance out for my overall Five Below expected experience. It's a cool place to check out, especially if you are visiting Sarasota and realized you forgot small items back home.
