They've really changed their products and obviously their prices. They added furniture in the last 10 yrs and upped their patio furniture also. The one thing I liked about Big Lots was their prices and their ability to have odd ball and weird stuff. Now it seems they are competing with other stores. Their prices are higher than Walmart. They took out the arts and craft sections for kids. I think it was a better store when it was a Mish mosh of random stuff for less. Now it's just like any other store. They do have cute and nice things but you can find them cheaper elsewhere. I was really bummed out.

They also have a frozen foods section with some hits and misses, use caution (there is some frozen fish). But honestly, for quick snacks and knick knacks around the house, I come buy all the time. There is no minimum purchase for credit cards, which is a bonus.

The store is quite small, and is for the most part pretty clean. The store sells everything you need, besides furniture. I found so much stuff, you could get at any other store. And, here you jsut get it for a dollar. I was able to find notebooks, pens pencils, there's some food, activity books, everything. Staff is a little bit on the edgier side, but they might not understand what is proper behavior, since the staff is mostly Muslim. Despite these small facts, this is a great store that sells everything.

I was SCAMMED at Target. I purchased several VISA debit holiday gift cards for family. One of the…read morecards was a $100.00 amount. It was discovered the card had been tampered with and 4 digits had been scraped off the plastic card making it unusable because someone else had fraudulently cashed in on it. I followed every procedure in a very patient manner with the security and fraud department at Target and elsewhere (VISA and the issuing bank- Pathward) to no avail. The manager did not come out of his office to even speak with me, instead sending some other floor worker out to shrug his shoulders, and I had to primarily communicate with the offshore "call center". The entire experience is very frustrating and frankly I'm surprised that Target is AWARE of this practice but not willing to help or stand behind the product they sell. If they're AWARE of this, then don't have an entire wall of gift cards hanging out there for the slight-of-hand. Instead, do what the Federal Trade Commission suggests and keep the gift cards by the register for purchase where light fingers are not so apt to pinch one. In general a real lack of courtesy and professionalism. At least pretend to make an attempt even if you could care less.

Mike the owner is very accommodating and it very fair to sellers when making offers to buy their books. (Often explaining how much they would be resold for an makes a reasonable offer based on that price). Mike and Jackie have excellent knowledge about Comics, Toys and Funco Pops and serious collectors shop there weekly because of them. I'm at a total loss for why there are some bad reviews here, Yes they have a sign that they are always buying, but you are best calling ahead and asking when the owner is in (which is almost all the days). As he is the one that will make the best offer and he really knows what sells well and doesn't. (Avoid Sundays and Mondays if you are there to sell your collection). Word to the wise, when selling a collection, it is always best to call ahead, see when the best time to visit is and see if they are interested in your collection. If they are, this is a great place to deal with as you won't get robbed. Naturally they are a business and need to stay profitable and need to buy at a rate that allows them to mark it up, but you aren't going to walk in with a rare comic that is worth $500 and walk out with 20 dollars, I've seen Mike buy and he is very honest. (Sometimes that means that he has to refuse to buy items that he can't sell, and other times people walk out with much more than expected. A reviewer complained about parking during a snow storm. My feeling is that the person with the car parking problem wasn't even dealing with the people who own the comic shop, probably from another business or an irate person who is a customer of the vacuum shop. Another reviewer said that they didn't feel comfortable there and I find this hard to fathom, I've always felt comfortable there and noticed that they treat their regular customers like family, often knowing about them, their jobs and families and remembering to ask them about things that they have shared about their lives (Changing Jobs, Children's health, Weddings, loss of family members, etc.).

This place sells fake signature books and misleads customers. I will never shop here again.read more
