Probably the cleanest dollar tree I've ever been to. It's pretty big. Ample parking in the lot, though it does get chaotic on weekends because it's near Target, Ross, and other stores. The store itself was well stocked when I went. The line was long, but moved quickly. They had a great selection of holiday decor. This might become my go-to dollar tree. read more

This Dollar Tree on La Cienega & Sawyer used to be my favorite, but they have gone downhill lately. A few evenings ago, I inquired about the availability of balloons (latex and celebratory foil balloons) in person. As I approached the balloon station, a bearded male staff immediately assumed my inquiry as I was about to make a formal inquiry. He was irate and immediately snarled at me, "we are out of balloons! We are tapped out!" I pleaded kindly if I could buy some a pack of latex balloons and have them inflate in-store (after purchase). He rudely refused and I walked away empty handed and full of disappointment. The staff on duty on a Friday evening are very rude and unprofessional. Kimberly had an incredibly nasty attitude from the moment I stepped in her line. Every guest said thank you to her and she ignored them. Upon approaching her , I said hello, how are you and her response was "do you need a bag" while loudly sighing. I really miss the 99 cent store. I got truly spoiled with the selection and stock available at any given moment. Dollar tree just misses every single time. It's really unfortunate - the shelves are ALWAYS bare. Doesn't matter the day, it's always picked over. From what I understand, employees get first pick of goods and leave whatever is left over. There ain't much left. Whenever I see store walkthroughs on YouTube, I know I'll never find any of the items mentioned. I have to say, the service by far exceeded my expectations. Some other comments express negative experience... which is surprising. I visited this store a couple of times recently, and - the experience is quite positive! All in all, much, much better than a former joint called "99 Cents" (I don't miss them at all!) This "Dollar Tree" store demonstrates good service, professional and friendly staff, abundance of merchandise with great variety, and very short checkout lines (again, unlike "99 Store" - which had chronically long lines and Zero customer service). I'm surprised the long line with one register moved fast and luckily a second one opened up for my turn. Service was very good. It's an organized, well-stocked location, although the toy and party favor aisles are messy with items on the floor. I know the store should keep the place tidy but if I drop something, I pick it up. Based on overhead family conversations, parents, please clean up after your youngsters who don't know any better. On the flip side, this store had a great selection of balloons and larger than average parking spaces in the lot. It can be tricky entering the lot northbound off La Cienega, though. Extremely rude staff. Especially the manager. The cashier was nice but the manager's attitude was just too much for me. After purchasing few items including few big bottles of water my son decided to carry the bottles since of course you can't take the cart out. as soon as we got out I noticed that something sharp is going to my hand after checking i saw one of plastic bowls are broken. Went back to the store and told the cashier about the problem she had to call the manager and they looked at each other very strangely and then she told me no it wasn't broken when the cashier scanned it. Idk what the hell is all about does she really thinks i am lowering myself for $1??????? Well sorry this wasn't the first time that's something bad happened in the store but for sure it will be my last. Shame on you to have such a stupid stuff. read more

Dollar Tree doesn't sell produce, only frozen food. The checkout staff had several problems with the register malfunctioning. He couldn't finish the sale without the manager fixing it. I went in for a huge purchase and the cashier was very I'm component. She wasn't clean on the return policy and told me I could return the unopened unused items the next day. Upon going into the store the next day they would NOT honor my return, theY would NOT give me store credit, and I was out of pocket $31.00 during the holiday season. I could have used this money for gas or Christmas gifts. I would not recommend shopping at this store. The workers do not know how to do their jobs and because of the miss guided info I wasted both my time and money. No issues with the products, but with the cashier. I brought my items to the cashier to purchase in the store basket, I laid my items on the counter and asked "what do I with the basket?" She points to the front entrance and says "put it there", in my whole life I've never heard anyone say that, they usually just take it from me or tell to put it next to the counter. But that's not all, after I made my purchase she doesn't even hand me my receipt, she just points to the machine waiting for me to take it. Literally the worst customer service I've EVER had. I don't even know where to start. 1. This dollar tree was highly ORGANIZED and DIRTY. 2. I had some difficulty locating certain items so I tried to find a staff member to help. The only staff I saw working was the person at the cash register (Javier) 3. Once I found all my items, I stood in line for approximately 30 minutes. The line was soooooo long and only one staff member was working. 4. Once I got to the front, Javier (GREAT WORKER) was visibly frustrated. I asked if he had any support and he said yes, but they are in the office talking. WHAT?! 5. Javier then proceeds to knock on the office door to ask them for help (line was now to the back of the store). The members in the office (Mary and Rosie) came out about 5 minutes later. I overheard them talking about other staff members and saying they don't have to work. Mary and Rosie then proceed to argue with Javier (saying he was slow, but he was not) in front of customers!!!! How rude! 6. I then took pictures of EVERYTHING! Date that I came into the store was 4/17 @ 3:15pm ish. Overall, I will never come back to that location. Javier was such a nice employee! He really was doing the best he could. It's quiet embarrassing to see staff like Rosie and Mary, gossiping and throwing arguing in front of customers. The associates are pretty good, usually see one cashier and possibly one other person working (stocking ) on the floor. Also, I assume they're either a supervisor or manager who pops in and out of the office too. If you can catch one of the associates attention they're helpful enough. I come here out of convenience ONLY. The employees typically are very rude and do not like their jobs. Employees will watch nonchalantly as the line builds up and allow one of the coworkers to ring up while they goof around. Today was the last straw for me. I just left the store as I was picking up PH balance waters they carry here for my mother who loves them. I purchased 15 bottles of water. I've been here so many times and know the drill. They don't ring each individual item, instead they ask you how many you have and they ring that. I was next in line so I put all of my other items on the turnbelt leaving one pack of water and then packed up my other 14 bottles. When it was my time to ring the ringer Lydia, asked me if I needed a bag. I said no I have this one here. She was watching me pack the waters while she was ringing up the person in front of me and I smiled at her. When she started ringing I said, "I have 15 waters total". She started ringing then walked over and said I have to count those waters. I said you are going to count them? She's like yes. Im like "okay... like I'm really going to steal water..." she proceeded to counting moves all the waters that I had packed up and had to carry out of order so they were sloppy and bulky on the bag. She counts of course there are 15 and she says nothing just walks back. She finishes ringing and doesn't even hand me my receipt she just leaves it sitting there in the register and starts talking to the woman after me. I say to her "excuse me May I have my receipt please?" She hands it to me and says nothing. First she accuses me of stealing and then she doesn't respect me enough to hand me my receipt. Completely unacceptable! The location on Washington and Cochran or Redondo I believe it is, is sooooo much nicer. They have items stocked better and the employees there actually chat you up politely. If this location wasn't just across the street from me I swear I would never return. read more

Very bad experience! To start off aisle signs are so low you can't even tell they're there. Second the customer service is so bad you can sense it off the employees energy. How can a big line get formed with 2 registers open. Stood there for a while could've said something before and in a better manner. Carrying a baby starting to fuss and next in line would be to great and smart to get the customer out happy and fast as possible. Not send them to the end of the line. Avoid this place for your mental and physical health! We spent literally an hour waiting for the manager to give us our online order only to be told it wasn't there. We had received an email from DollarTree saying our order was ready for pickup and that we should get it soon to avoid cancellation. But no order at the store. And no apology. Only attitude. Dreadful place. I keep reading stuff online from crafters and hobbyists writing about the "great deals" in stuff like foam boards and things like that at their local Dollar Tree. Well not this one! Like some other reviewer wrote, it looks like a tornado blew through. If you want to buy cheap soda and sandwich bags (and not much else) I suppose this is a decent place and the tons of folk inside seemed to appreciate. I am new to figuring out how to queue during coronavirus restrictions. I admit I do not always know where the line starts nor which line I am supposed to be in. The lady at the checkout was clearly unhappy with my confusion when I manifested at the register with my Nerds, my RockStar, my vase, and my two new picture frames and tried to hand her cash for them. But she also made sure I realized I was waiting somewhere with no line and got me through the checkout as fast as she could. I'll figure it out eventually. read more

Just like everything in LA, it started out nice, clean, organized and then came the customers who destroy it. Why can't we have anything nice??? Just because it is a discount store doesn't mean people should not be respectful. There are Dollars Trees in other areas farther out that are neat and clean because the customers don't trash it. The ones back East are immaculate. They are understaffed for the amount of people that come in, and they can't keep up. The lines are always long and there is usually only one check out line. This could be resolved by the management. But it seems to be a trend. It is a covid risk because everyone is stuffed in one aisle waiting. I am giving it 2 stars because the clerks have to deal with horrible customers. I was really excited when it opened now it is painful to be in. read more

Damn all these 1 star reviews cause people wanna be petty. I gone to this location about 3-4 times and although it is true that they only got 1-2 cashiers tops and it constantly being dirty I still give them credit cause I worked retail and I know it's a tough job. Let me see where do I start. I had an exchange for 3 packs of noodles and went to look for same thing just a different flavor. After finding other items I did not find what I was looking for. I went to the register and based on the interaction the cashier had with the person in front of me I had a feeling I was going to have an issue. First off I had a bag that had the return item and she started ringing my other stuff and then I said what about my exchange she then stopped and called for a help who just happened to be a manager. She said we cannot take that back, we don't take food back I'm like show me that policy on the receipt and the store and she could not. She started playing in her phone trying to find something that said they cannot take food back. I'm like make a decision because they were both just standing there staring at me and each other. They both need a lesson in good customer service especially the manager because she is suppose to set a good example as a lead person but instead she is teaching her to not care about customers nor to honor good faith transactions. After spending about 10 minutes going back and forth with some eye rolls and sighs the manager said who ever she was texting on the phone that they would take back. So the manager steps up to the register and even though I presented them with a receipt they never even looked at it, and the first thing out her mouth to me was am I using food stamps???? I'm like excuse me!!! Why would you ask me that do I have a certain look and then she says she has to ask that question. A simple How will you be paying would have been respectful and professional. If she would have looked at my original receipt she would have seen original form of payment. You don't profile people or assume regardless of a person's ability to pay and how. She then said in order to exchange I had to have 3 food items I'm like I had more than 3 in my bag so she took 3 out and then subtracted the noodles and then scanned the 3 other food items that she had already scanned so now she not only took back my 3 items for $3.75 she charged me 2 times for the same 3 items so now I have to go back and deal with them 1 last time. I will never go back to this store again as a shopper and I will be contacting corporate. What bothers me is that most of the people feel like they need to challenge people and trust this is dollar store no one needs the stress. This store is awesome! They have the best art supplies for $1. They have lots of cool supplies that you need for home, the best birthday cards or cards for any occasion for 50 cents! This is the best place to buy your supplies for bridal showers, birthday parties, baby showers, any parties! This Dollar Tree started out clean and organized when it first opened. Now it's a complete Dump ! It's all due to to management . The manager has the worst attitude and very unprofessional. Every time you go in the store it's one long line down the aisle with one cashier. All while the manager seems to always be on a lunch break, instead of coming out of the office and helping to bring the line down.Go backs are left all over the store . Inventory is always in the back storage area instead of on the floor . Again this is poor management skills. They even had a store sign that said " We Hirin " instead of Hiring . This store needs to start having a second checkout line. Whenever I try to go in and buy something, I get discouraged by the line and leave.

It was the first and last time I'll ever go into that store. The place was disgusting with no regard for Health and Safety violations. Both the staff and other customers were verbally and physically hostile. I was physically attacked by a customer with a very unhappy NONSERVICE pet riding around in the shopping cart. How you gonna write a 1-star review about the dollar store? This isn't an upscale boutique. It's understaffed--That's why everything is a dollar-- but still impressively organized given the small number of employees and the large number of customers who come through and mess it all up again. You have to do some digging (and probably won't have an employee to direct you) --That's why everything is a dollar--but it can be a fun hunt. Many items are flawed, poorly made, or just not meant to last--That's why everything is a dollar-- but you'll find some of the exact same items you've seen at other "nicer" stores. It's great for seasonal items and a huge resource for educators or anyone with kids. If you think you're above the atmosphere, go somewhere else --where not everything will be a dollar. Otherwise, keep in mind that the employees here are doing their best with limited resources (and risking their health during this pandemic!) and that many people and families don't have the option to shop elsewhere.
