Dang it is a little ghetto over here after all I guess. Well it is Dollar Tree. But people just eating their stuff in line and knocking stuff on the ground and leaving it there. It gets crowded in here. I dunno maybe I came at rush hour about 7pm. Dollar tree isn't that cheap anymore sadly but I did find both coconut oil and beef tallow, like 8oz jars of each I think. That's pretty good for 1.25 now. The vibe is expect the cops to show up. Which they did but they were also just shopping I think. Either that or I missed it. There's always a next time. I must have caught this store while they were waiting on a delivery truck. They did not have anything I wanted or needed. I ended up buying 3 impulse items. The cashier was very friendly but sneaky. She charged me for a bag that I did not get. I did not need a bag I had 3 small items that I carried out the store. I just now noticed I was charged but not going to waste my gas to go get my dime. Big fan of this particular Dollar Tree. But, I've got to be honest, I'm a big fan of most Dollar Trees in general (though generally not Dollar Generals)... Anyway, this Dollar Tree is really clean and well lit (which is not every Dollar Tree's jam, so that's a delightful surprise added to my experience). I found a ton of cool stuff I needed to buy, and oh so much more that I wanted to, but I'm trying to work on restraint (to some extent, not doing anything too crazy or anything). Anyway, I ended up having to put a lot back, but not because of the prices, mostly because I didn't want to walk around holding 50 items. The 18 items I ended up leaving with were quite enough to walk with. Especially if you're prone to getting lost, like I am. But I'm staying at my friend's place for 2 weeks total (like 1.5 left) and that place is really close to where they live, so I'll probably check it out again. Oh, and of course, lots of cool Halloween stuff currently there as well. With better prices that like Party City or something (but slightly, really not even that much less tbh) variety compared to those sorts of stores. Anyway, I highly recommend this place! I came to the dollar tree at La Brea and Obama and I was waiting in line to pay and the cash register froze. So I waiting a couple of minutes and the other register lady called for help. The employee called out over the speaker saying "Don't you know what frozen means" really rude. So some customers and myself asked if we can speak to her manager because that was not necessary and she stated flower is my manager. We noticed that this Dollar Tree location recently opened up, so we decided to check it out. It is in a high traffic area and is really easy to find. The store is pretty big, and has a decent sized parking lot. Inside, it is very neat and well organized compared to other discount stores that I have been to. They have a variety of items, and everything is easy to find in the appropriate section or aisle. I came across a lot of interesting little knickknacks that made my visit worth while. Dollar Tree is a cool store to check out to find a lot of low priced items. Unlike most discount stores, this one is neat and organized. I like this store. They have good items, and really if you're paying attention you can get some good deals. Here's a secret: they take coupons! Whoooo hoooo! The shelves are always stocked and everything is organized so you can find things easily. If you're partial to name brands they have a good array of them here. They have a balloon service too, and each are only $1 for Mylar. That's a good price. Now when you're ready to check out...*sigh* The line WILL be long, and sometimes it's because one is tied up making a fancy balloon bouquet. As far as the cashiers, it's a roll of dice as to what type of cashier you will get. It sucks cause sometimes you wanna say, hey! Is your day REALLY THAT BAD? If so just go home! I never really shopped at Dollar Tree stores but now that this location has opened I'm glad I have this option other than 99 Cent Store on La Tijera and Centinela. For being a new store and in the neighborHOOD, employees have kept it organized compared to 99 cent store being the contra-ire. They have good variety of items. From food, party supplies, cleaning supplies and crafts. I can easily come here and come out 'winning' spending less than $20. read more

I have been going to Dollar Tree's for years. I like them because they are neater and less crowded that 99Cent Stores...except this one on LaBrea. I don't know if it was because I went the second week it opened, but it was junky and understaffed, which I found odd since that location had just opened. The staff was friendly, but there simply wasn't enough of them. I went with my Grandmother who is handicapped. Every other Dollar Tree I have been to, always opens the handicapped register, no such luck at this location. It was crowded and my Grandmother had to stand with her cane and wait. To add insult to injury, the baskets lock and can not be taken further than the front entrance. What the hell?!?! I have never been to a Dollar Tree that has baskets that lock!! Luckily, I was with my Grandmother that day because she had bought four jugs of water, so I loaded them into the car from the front door, but what are the other seniors supposed to do?! Mario is the worst! He is nit a manager. I went in on my way to work and had to wait in a crowded line for 20 minutes because there was only one checker. When we asked for manager, Mario came out from the back and yelled and argued with a customer. He then proceeded to do nothing. He had another worker in back who came out to help someone with their bags but when I asked why she couldn't open s register, he rudely talked over me and claimed she was on lunch break at 9:15 in the morning. I went to this Dollar Tree looking for a new Sun Tea pitcher. Though they didn't have what I was looking for, I did find a wide variety of cooking and kitchen supplies. For everything being a dollar, I found a few great deals on forks, spoons, knife sets, plates, and other cookware. The store is committing fraud in the name of US veterans. I went there today to get a can opener and a few things I did not know I needed until I saw them. Was impressed with the quality of the items, compared to 99cent stores, I was in a good mood until I looked at my receipt a few hours later. The cashier, Cheryl, asked me if I would like to make a "...one dollar donation to help families of us veterans?" I said, "Sure". When I checked my receipt there was an extra charge for white index cards. When I called the store to inquire, Nicki (shift manager), was combative and explained that they would put a package of white index cards in a donation box, for children of veterans going back to school, located at the front of the store. I didn't notice any donation box. I thought it sounded shady so I asked what the name of the store manager was. She said, "its on your receipt". I had to ask her several times to give me the name of the manager before she finally replied "It's Eddie, and everything is fine, so you can go ahead.... (mumbling something). Then she hung up. Dollar Tree is a fun place to shop! However, do not shop at this Dollar Tree unless you care NOTHING about customer service. Actually this experience went way beyond good customer service. The Dollar Tree representative, Natasha, was rude, disrespectful, and very unprofessional. The manager was not much better. It is already very difficult to get in the parking lot, then to be confronted with just raw disrespect. Who needs that. Certainly not me, my 80 year old mother, and any other human being/customer.
