I recently visited this Dollar Tree after noticing some of the previous reviews. The store itself was clean and organized, which I appreciated. However, many shelves throughout the store were empty, and several popular items were out of stock. The patriotic Fourth of July section, in particular, had very little inventory left. I imagine this was due to the high demand leading up to Independence Day, as many people were excited to celebrate our Nation's Birthday with red, white, and blue decorations. One surprise was the pricing. While Dollar Tree has expanded beyond its traditional price point of $1.00, I noticed many items priced between $4 and $7. I miss when most merchandise was at the standard Dollar Tree price, with greeting cards remaining an affordable exception. Lower prices are part of what made the store so appealing, and I hope the company continues to focus on value. The highlight of my visit wasn't on the shelves--it was the kindness of a fellow customer. While I was waiting in line, a kind Texas Samaritan offered to pay for my items. That simple act of generosity was a wonderful reminder of the spirit of Texas and the American tradition of paying it forward. It is very heavily shopped, and they still have a good selection. Nice place. It was clean and I was able to find everything I wanted.

Horrible experience! If I could put 0 stars I would. One of the cashiers I didn't get her name she is Hispanic one at the end. Started yelling at my mom that is an older lady and laughing at her! Accusing her of things and then screaming stupid people. If you don't like your job clearly you should not be working in customer service. At the end of the day she's the miserable one. read more

For months this store has looked like trash. Shelves empty with little or no items on them. Boxes of inventory just sitting on palettes not being stocked. Compacted cardboard bundles just sitting on the sales floor. One cashier who looks stressed out and tired. It looked like the only cashier there. One manager was there. Possibly the only two in the store. This store for over a year or two always looks terrible. Safety is a concern there. Every corner you turn you may trip on something. A big problem for any customers. Clean it up or close it down. read more

Wow, the overall rating of 2 1/2 stars is spot on. That's exactly how I feel about this location. My memories of this store were very positive, but that's not the case at this particular time. I started to round up because honestly, you can't be too hard on a dollar store where everything is actually a dollar. I only decided to round down instead when I realized I won't actually be back. I'll stick to the University location. Since I factor in return rate, I had to be honest. What's good? What they offer for a dollar! Dollar Tree is an awesome place to get cleaning supplies, party favors and decorations, stationary, activities, pet grooming products, replacement kitchenware, etc. You can even get balloons filled. The chain in general is great! What do you have to put up with here? Being held hostage in a maze! We stopped by last weekend to get some light bulbs and bathroom cleaner- something we expected to take 5 minutes tops, but took more than 30 minutes. The layout in not intuitive at all, which took me a while to figure out since they all start with party supplies to the right of the entrance. I actually had a difficult time making sense of a couple of aisles. That was assuming I could get to an aisle, there were boxes everywhere! Seriously, everywhere! They were blocking access to some aisles and they were left in the middle of others, creating a tripping hazard- that's unacceptable. When we arrived there were zero baskets or carts available, they clearly need more to keep up with their traffic. We had to juggle the light bulbs and I would have preferred them to be safe in a hand basket. In addition to the disorganized, slovenly mess of boxes, I witnessed someone who appeared to be a manager on the floor, yelling at someone on the phone. That was uncomfortable. The staff is extremely slow, which struck me as more of a morale problem than a training problem. The lines are extremely long and when they open a new lane, they don't announce it or turn on a light, so people start getting irritated when someone saunters to the front of a new line. It's the sort of situation that either holds you hostage or forces you to abandon your items. The poor couple in front of us had 2 small items in their hand and they had been in line well before we got there. Our cashier scanned items so slowly I had to avert my eyes to keep from telling her how to do her job. I am not *that* customer, but the 4 second pauses between each scan almost pushed me to be. It didn't help that she stared blankly at us and mumbled through the transaction- yikes! Bottom line- you'll find some great stuff for cheap if you can put up with the time suck and safety hazards. read more

I love it here!! This store has really upgraded and after I spoke with the manager Lindsey I understood that their team has been working hard. The store is huge, almost like a mall and they have just about everything and more than any other dollar tree I've been to! I needed help finding one of the things on my list and I guess anyone could tell I was feeling pretty lost, but one wonderful manager named Robin came over to me helped find exactly what I was looking!! The Dollar Tree on Teasley in Denton yesterday was a filled with Mothers Day shoppers. There was one , ONE, employee in the whole store. Twenty people in line to check out. A shopper waits till she gets to the register to run get another item. Instead of making her go to the end of the line The cashier made 20 people wait till she shopped some more. I will never go to this store again. The customer service is much better at the Loop 288 store. read more

Worst service ever!!! Cashier was on her cell phone and I said hello and she didn't respond. Then, I got some glass items and she just threw them in the bag like nothing. I asked her if she can wrap them up and she just threw them in another bag. Will not be going to this DT again. read more

Awful service. One checker last two days. People on lunch hours and such lined up to back of store. Manager a joke Worse place to shop in Denton Tryed the store out again today. It's 2:32 PM and you got it they have two checkers and people lined up to the back of the store. This is their larger store and Denton and I would not go there again for Any reason. This place runs itself like the old joke about the phone company when it was the only one in town. There is another dollar store here and it is managed 1000 times better. I purchased the ribeye steak here at Dollar Tree. After carefully letting the meat marinade in a blend of Worcester and spices I let the steak cook over mesquite chips brought in from a local mesquite mill. After the steak was the perfect temperature I let it sit for 5 minutes and placed it delicately on its plate. Here is where all of my hard work would pay off. As I took the first bite I was blown away at how much this dollar steak, regardless of preparation, tasted like a dollar steak. But-because of my financial situations as of late I had to trudge on. I finished the steak and immediately went to the restroom where I set for 2 hours contemplating my current role in society. But hey a dollar for a steak? Can't beat it! read more

Dollar tree is great for what it is, and what it provides. Toys, books, puzzles, food, personal care, art supplies, dishes, etc. etc. If you need something basic, there's a good chance you'll find it here. The staff has always been friendly to me when I've come here. Large selection of things your need and things you probably don't need. It's mostly clean inside, and every time I visit, things seem to be mostly in order. Especially good for balloons, cards, disposable dishes, party decorations, because let's be real- you shouldn't be spending so much on those things at other places anyways. read more

The store was pretty disheveled when we came in, like some giant monster hand had reached down and tousled up the whole place. It was a little before noon, so I can only hope the employees got a chance to straighten up at some point, otherwise the place could look like an earthquake happened by dinner time. EVERY time I go into this particular $Tree there are NEVER carts for customers. The employees have MANY of the carts filled with items they are stocking. I know they are required to stock daily.....BUT must they use THOSE few shopping carts this store has available ? Either buy more for the customer's use, or close your store. Yes, it's a Dollar Tree. Standards can't be too high for the items and all that. But I find the service people are poorly trained. Nice, perhaps, but poorly trained. For example, every time there's a long line, rather than coming over to the line and taking the next two people in line to the other check out, the new register-person shouts, "Next!" and then the end of the line people cut off everyone else. I don't expect Disneyland training, but some simple courtesy would be nice. Certainly would make me willing to go more often than our bi-monthly visit. read more

I placed an on-line for the store on Colorado Blvd. in Denton, Tx on January 3, 2020. I received an email on January 15th to grab my keys - my order has arrived! I stopped by the store that same day at 8:54 am to pick up my order. Didn't see anyone in sight and found a guy stocking shelves. I gave him my email receipt and he said he would get the manager. He looked in the manager's office and said wait just a minute. He came back and told me to put your telephone # on my receipt and they would call me when it was ready. I was to say the least very irritated and noticed getting in my car that the female manager was at the end of the building talking on a cell phone and smoking a cigarette. They open at 8:00 and she's already on break at 8:54? As of January 21st I had not received a phone call so stopped by again 5 days after the order supposedly arrive and they still couldn't find my order. She said let me go to the office and check on the computer to see if they sent it. I said let's just forget it and refund my money. She said she was sorry and I would have to call the phone number on the receipt for a refund which I did and have already received the refund. I received another email this am telling me I was to pick up my order and they were giving me additional time to pick it up. My deadline for picking up my order was by January 22nd. Are you kidding me? I shot an email to the corporate office because this is a poorly managed store and this is exactly what brings stores down. I am not making a 3rd trip to this store. Also, on the 21st, there was one cashier, a long line and 3 girls, one with a clipboard just standing together doing what I don't know. There was a huge pallet full of boxed items in the store room.
