We came to purchase a few items and some coloring books for my little one. There was a small outage of power due to the weather and that's understandable but we had to overhear some things that weren't ok for customers to hear. We also were told we could hold our places in line, only to be told 2 minutes after, we all had to leave because he can't stand there to watch us and also reboot the system. We were confused at the miscommunication and also the slight jab about watching us.. we were there to purchase, not to take. We asked if we could keep our things there so we could return to purchase once the system was back up. We ere told yes. We got back BEFORE the 30 minutes he told us it'd take to find that all of our items were placed back and that we'd now have to remember what all we had , grab it all again and then purchase . I don't think I'd go back to that specific location solely based off of customer service alone. The parking was convenient right out front. The store barely had items or snacks in need of a serious restock. Overall I think I'll stick to other shops for now. We left and went to the grocery store read more

If Dollar Tree had a fan club, I'd be President. I've still got a little beef with them about the $1.25 price increase, (because why would you do that?) but alas, it obviously hasn't stopped me from being a customer. On the hunt for some wallet-friendly organization options for my fridge and linen closet before I opted for amazon or Target, I headed over to this Dollar Tree location. I'd never visited this particular Decatur store, I was in the area for another reason and stopped in. Located in a busy shopping plaza, parking was a pain thanks to the folks who seemed to be struggling to get in and out, but I prevailed. It is great that there's tons of spots in the lot. The store was clean and incredibly organized when I entered, I can always appreciate not having to climb over items in the store. It was actually quite spacious and filled with a great variety of options. When I got to the bins/organization section, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many items in stock that I hadn't been seeing in other stores. Lines started off long as it was a Saturday afternoon and two lanes were open, but I was happy to see that the team quickly opened another lane when they started to notice the pile-up. This place should close down, I nearly tripped on the items on the floor, it's not the customers doing it, it's the employee's leaving their floor stock on the floor. It's disgusting, unorganized and honestly just a mess. No one cares about nothing. It was more organized when things were $1, now that things are $1.25 and more, no help, long lines, the aisles are a critical mess, just pitiful. The store managers are not just there to manage, they need to get up and come out th office and help when you see long lines and customers screaming. The workers are stocking shelfs while customers are shopping. This big thing that holds boxes when you stock shelves are in the way, and the workers won't move they just stare at you like your crazy. Fire everyone, and I do mean everyone, managers and all. The workers eat lunch in the aisles while working and leave there food in the aisles the food gets old starts to stink and lefy there. I could go on for days, it's just to much to mention. read more

Although it has always been a personal quest to become the Dollar Tree Duke, I never thought the road to victory would be so easy. In fact, being the first to review and becoming the Duke simultaneously is almost too much to handle. I have to tell you though, standing about 10 customers back in line to pay did not make me feel much like a Duke. This place gets some traffic! You definitely need to walk into this place knowing what you are looking for in advance, otherwise you will buy a bunch of random things you don't need. I bought: some garland for my faux Christmas tree, a metal, disposable turkey oven pan that my turkey will probably fall through on Thanksgiving Day, a vinyl tablecloth and a wooden post for my front lawn that says "Merry Christmas." Everything is $1+tax. I am still a little nervous about buying any food items from here...check your expiration dates! The place was busy with everyone stocking up on random Christmas or Thanksgiving stuff, tin foil, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Also a good place to get a shower liner (aren't you supposed to change those pretty often?). Staff were friendly. So, I will wear my Dollar Tree crown with pride...or until I begrudgingly let one of you fellow Yelpers battle me for it. read more

I should take that back, because during halloween, this is the spot to buy candy for trick or treaters on the cheap and cleaning supplies can be had cheaply too. This dollar tree was more disorganized than other dollar trees. I went to buy some ribbon for wrapping gifts on a Saturday afternoon. There were stocking carts in the aisle unattended. There were also tons of boxes just sitting around with used boxes in them. I would have not thought much of it if I had been there at an odd hour, but it was a Saturday afternoon. The store was also a bit smaller than some others with narrower aisles and a cramped checkout. The employees seemed nice enough. I won't be going back here. I will try another dollar tree. read more

I visited today to grab something quick after I gassed up at Kroger. Not as tidy as the one I usually go to. But, as with all Dollar Trees, everything is $1 and that's the bonus. They didn't have what I was looking for, but I picked up a few bags of chips and Snapple. Dollar Tree is great for snacks. I am a dollar tree groupy. They have cute nice things that look great when you get home. And it feels so good every time you look at those items to know that you paid a dollar, often about one fifth of the price at other stores. Today I got a little rug for shoes at the door, toilet brush, soap savers, adult hangers, mini containers (the cute ones for paperclips and craft supplies) and much more. Do people read reviews about Dollar Tree lol. Anyway went there today to pick up a few things while at Kroger. Store is usually kind of a mess but it Dollar Tree. Girl checking me out was sweet but forgot to give me a couple of my items when she handed me the bag. Found later when I got home. Called back and this horrible horrible woman answered the phone. I later found out she shockingly is the store manager name Deidre. Rarely have I come across someone so unprofessional in a management position Dollar Tree or not. I explained I was missing some items I paid for. She never once apologized, immediately got an attitude and told me it's "not their job" to make sure I'm given everything I paid for and I should have checked the bag before leaving. Said if I wanted I could drive back the 8 miles and get my stuff that she confirmed was still sitting there. I was gonna say screw it but after this person talks to me this way I went back for a full refund. Went in and asked to speak with the manager that's when I found out who Deidre was. She refused to leave her little mirrored cubicle and address the situation. Another employee named Michael gave me my refund. Not that that they care but not ever going back. Called corp office and complained. Surprised this Decatur store would hire someone like this to run it. But wth it's Dollar Tree right? Lmao...... read more
