While I understand the convenience of self check out when it's really busy within the store, I do not understand why the customer reps there wait behind the counter until all the customer self checkouts are full before they open up their register. Literally two cashiers were standing there, chatting away with each other like it was their primary job, while customers with 15 items or more are expected to self checkout, reach around the counter to grab their own bags, and bag their groceries. They waited until the two self-checkout slots were full to open up their register and was able to checkout a customer in half the time it took for me to bag up and pay for my items. Literally had a "register closed" sign while standing behind the register and talking with each other. So this is what they're getting paid for?

I called corporate headquarters and spoke to customer care. They were supposed to get a hold of the manager and speak with her. I would hear from her within 24 hours. 72 hours later, not hearing from her or anyone else with Dollar General I called again. It was supposed to be escalated to district manager that I would hear from them in the next 48 hours. I waited business hours. When I called in again this past Monday, they couldn't understand why no one gotten a hold of me yet. They were supposed to upgrade it to Regional Manager. I called again this past Thursday, and again they don't understand why no one has gotten a hold of me yet. Me neither! If I have to take them to court for the hundred dollars, they owe me I will because I know they owe it to me. I know I Did not get the money back from them. They keep talking to me like I'm some dumb woman who did not know how much money she had in her purse. I don't appreciate that. None of the managers have gotten a hold of me for this. When we go to court, I will win because they didn't give me the money back. They will have to pay for court and the hundred dollars they owe me and everything else.won't bother me none.

The sales woman was nice but asked me to bring in the giant mirror 79 inches by 33 inches myself. I said I could not that it was to big she then asked me to pull my car up and she would help me. I got my car and pulled up to the door area, left my flashers on and waited inside for a staff member for several minutes which seemed like a long time especially when my car was illegally parked outside. The process was annoying when I was sold a damaged item. I was a frustrated with the whole thing. Again staff was really nice but all in all I decided ultimately for a refund due to the cheaply made mirror frame and waiting.

I was told that the email was received and a response could be expected in a few hours. I NEVER HEARD BACK, no email, no phone call! I deserved some type of response. If they couldn't take it, fine....but let me know. There is no excuse for treating your customer with such disrespect! I'm not inclined to sell or buy from this business again!

The only downside is you're limited to the inventory a store has on hand. Otherwise, you'll have to go the shipping route. Every visit, everyone has been welcoming and polite. They don't ever miss the mark there. For the most part, my order and pickup works out. You have 5 days from purchase date to pick up the order. My last order, I received an email saying "thank you, you've picked up your order" kind of deal after 2 days. I normally pick up within 24 hrs but life was life'ing. I call the store and honestly no one really knows what happened to my order. I'm assuming it was accidents given to someone else. Normally, not a big deal - unless it's the scent you really want and there aren't anymore. I know accidents happen and I certainly could have gotten a refund but I was out of the product and so I needed to leave with something. The manager was apologetic & helpful. While they couldn't get me the same scents, she did pull some for me. That's cool but when you purchase these items during a sale, they offer select items and not any scent of your choice. That's the only step I would have preferred in the customer service experience. I should have been allowed to choose whatever scent I wanted since it wasn't my error. But since, I could have just taken the refund, I'm only taking one star because I would have been inconvenienced if I had taken the refund AND, the select scents are not the scents I would have preferred. Despite that, it's a typical BBW with good service and all the products we love.
