It sells closeout merchandise and excess inventory, basically products that manufacturers and other retailers could not sell. I shopped inside this particular Ollie's store in Belle Vernon. This store was a large size and carried a wide variety of merchandise such as foods, pet supplies, hygiene products, beauty products, cleaning products, bedding, clothes, small appliances, rugs, kitchenware, books, gardening supplies, and much more. The prices were low to moderate. I felt happy to find ceramic frying pans for only about $10 each. A good quality and a low price.

Merchandise includes clothing, footwear, handbags, home goods, some pet supplies, some furniture, etcetera. For about 9 years, I have occasionally shopped at this store in Belle Vernon in the hopes of finding bargains. During my most recent visit, I saw shelves and racks that were fully stocked with merchandise from some name brands (e.g., Juicy Couture) and many generic brands with which I was not previously familiar. Most prices were very reasonable, such as $7 for a short-sleeved shirt, $9 for sandals, $10 for a puffer jacket, and $13 for a sweater. I found a super-cute gift bag that I liked.

We talked to the fellow working there - was that Tim? - and he was very kind. He told us the history of the house (a former funeral home) complete with some anecdotal ghost stories. The shop itself is huge. Despite its size it is easily navigable. There is an impressive collection of lanterns hanging from the ceiling on the 2nd floor that I found particularly neat. Sadly, while I did find some items that would've worked for what I was looking for, nothing was reasonably priced. I didn't know if haggling was acceptable so we just decided to move on. In any event, there is lots to browse through. If you're planning a visit set a side some of your time!

The one walked us back to the vanity's and explained the color code sticker layout. Some of them were chipped or cracked or damaged in some type of way but it was blatantly obvious and properly marked, didn't feel like they were trying to hide any damage. We ended up finding a soft close vanity at a very reasonable price. I did see some washers and toilets for sale as well when browsing. They are cash only and have an undetectable "no hold policy." There is an ATM across the street within walking distance though so no big deal if you didn't bring cash. The two ladies even helped load the item into our vehicle! Great costumer service! The shelves and racks were well stocked and organized. I found my favorite products such as TheraBreath mouth rinse, Fancy Feast cat foods, and RoundUp weed killer. The store kept beauty products locked up in a special section, which I understand is to prevent theft, but it also inconvenienced me, so I did not even bother to shop for cosmetics. The prices for most merchandise were low, such as $5 for women's tank tops and $75 for a Bissell vacuum cleaner, but some prices were higher than competing stores' prices, such as $2 for a travel toothbrush and toothpaste and over $20 for a few dog bully sticks.
