(As a mom of two with an insanely packed schedule, delivery is essential.) Alas, it's available now for online shopping and pickup! I ordered on a Friday morning and picked up my order later that afternoon. (Pickup is available for any order over $30.) The online interface is great! Compared to Hyvee and Walmart I'll make the bold statement in saying it is the best. I say this because there are plenty of deals at Fareway (buy this item and get this item free) and 1) it shows your these deals seamlessly but also, 2) you're able to see the discount in your cart right away! Pickup slots are right out front, directly outside the front door. Just push a button on your confirmation email to say when you're leaving or there. My order came out super quick, the staff was wonderful, my order was correct and price was right. No complaints here! I'll be ordering pickup again soon! Try Fareway's online ordering now.

When I went back today to get the missing item, I showed them the receipt that showed the purchase but they said they would need to look at their camera footage to be able to tell what happened. Hy-Vee would never have asked for that and would have just replaced my item. At the end of this experience the clerk then told me I must have forgotten to put the item in my cart, even though their employee had been loading the cart. I will not be back...

So you better believe we stock up when we come here! This year, we happened to be in Iowa City during Black Friday and we decided to brave the crowds and go to Costco. To our surprise, it was not as chaotic and crowded as we thought it would be. I'd say it was a typical crowd that you would see on a Sunday, maybe a tad more shoppers. We stocked up on all of our essentials in preparation for the winter season and now our fridge and pantry are well filled. We even snagged a box of 24 cans of Spindrift for $9.99 which is absolutely the best deal we've seen for Spindrift. We also got a huge cut of New York strip steak for $7.99 per lb which will last us for months! All in all, this Costco is well stocked, well organized, and clean. The lines move pretty quickly, especially since they have a self-checkout and regular check out line. Service is efficient and there is a covered parking lot with lots of parking spaces. We are happy with our haul and will be back the next time we're in the city :)

Employee asked for our name, then to spell our last name and then to spell our first name. They're all pretty basic, but we weren't bothered by this. Beyond this necessary communication the employee said zilch to us. The woman was absolutely miserable. Once our prescription came through the window there was no "thank you," or "have a nice weekend." This was a huge departure from the super nice and engaging pharmacy manager who works here. Yikes. If anyone from Walgreens is reading this and you can figure out who was working the Edgewood Rd. drive-thru window on Saturday, 06/12/21 at 2pm, please encourage some additional customer service training.
