I mean, this same guy checked me through about two weeks ago and seemed fine. Today? Not one word, no engagement, eye contact, even though I had to speak to him at one point. He just mutely and absent-mindedly hands me the receipt with a vacant "I don't give a shit about you" look on his mindless face, I with five bags of groceries to bag myself, with absolutely ZERO help from this loser. Younger guy, close-cropped brown hair, he was on checkstand 2, around 4 p.m., and if he tries that mute, vacant, NPC waste-of-space shit with me next time (that is, if I am forced to go through his checkstand), he's going to get my opinion on his complete and utter lack of personality, people skills, or customer service capacity, and I may even call the manager over and dress him down, too for being stupid enough to hire zeroes like this in the first place, who should be digging sewer ditches, not interacting with your valued customers. People like this are the biggest advertisement for grocery stores all converting to self-checkout, and them to go on EDD / Unemployment. Please consider it. Oh, four stars for the products and prices, but it's too bad that that's overshadowed by having absolute inhuman creeps doing your product-beeping and representing your store in a viscerally negative way.

Then we start all over with new products on Thursdays. Inventory changes every week what we have and which major retailer it comes from online and store fronts. Each week we have something for everyone and at prices anyone can afford, and we don't mean last seasons trends. Its common place for our customers to be shocked when they find an item at Price Drop that they have been really wanting to buy either from the online retail giant or brick and mortar mogals but haven't been able to justify the splurge of $40- $80. in this economy for something that is not a necessity. They are thrilled to find out that we have it and depending on the day of the week and not the retail price of the item it ranges from $9-$3 dollars. We are a local family owned retail store they really wants to be known as the best deal in town. So we work really hard to source the best products and selection at the very best prices. So we can pass the saving on to the consumer we eliminate the typical labor cost associated with processing new inventory and displaying it on shelfs in stead we toss most of it all into bins and everything is priced the same excluding the high roller racks and items which are priced at 50% or below MSRP.

Hayfork Discount is anchoring the busy end of the village strip..... next to the laundromat and Roping Rhonda's bar. [Oh, yeah, there are also two bars in Hayfork....] Hayfork Discount is pretty much equivalent with Wiley's. Wiley's has a few different frozen food and fresh meat choices; Hayfork Discount tends to have a little bit cheaper prices on dairy products. HD also has hard alcohol, whereas I believe Wiley's is beer-and-wine. Prices are high in Hayfork -- raising transportation costs really hit this town hard. The cashiers are friendly.

The attendants were very friendly...and it was wonderful chatting with them. It's not a big store but they sure have a lot of different ways to incorporate "Weed" into the various souvenirs. This store was by far the best one we went to. It's the type of store you can spend a lot of time exploring the great variety of items they have. They had everything from a vintage Polaroid camera to motocross helmets to vintage dishes to clothing and beyond. Truly the store that has something for everyone. Very well organized and clean. The prices were fantastic and the two gentlemen (owners?) at the counter were super friendly and helpful as well. My son and I both bought something we were very happy with at great prices. I will no doubt stop back in if I'm traveling the I-5 again.

Was pleasantly surprised to find a solid thermos, Henckels cutting board, culinary chef smoothie maker machine and egg crates and a good 50 pack of Hanes cloth face masks that will be good for shop cloths. You will take a gamble on the mystery box as it seems like there's odds and ends of which you would most likely find in the discount bin not necessarily on the shelf. This will become a regular stop on my travels to Oregon as they will always have rotating stock and new discount items.
